Chapter 147 Losing Money

After ordering a bowl of wontons, Hu Ying fiddled with her slender, delicate hands and looked at Qiu Yan at the counter: "Qiu Yan, it's really not easy to see you."

"What do you want?" Qiu Yanke still remembered what happened with Song Jiao last time.

She had long suspected that Hu Ying was behind the incident where she sent someone to humiliate Song Jiao, but she hadn't found any evidence against her yet. Unexpectedly, this person couldn't wait any longer and came looking for her first.

"I want to ask you for someone."

"Song Jiao?"

"I enjoy dealing with intelligent people. I wonder if this money is enough?"

As Hu Ying spoke, she placed a silver note with a face value of one hundred on the table in front of her.

This money was borrowed, and it pained her to take it out now, but to prevent future troubles, this amount of money was nothing.

However, Qiu Yan's words made her furious.

"You think you can buy our Miss Song Jiao with this little bit of money?"

When Qiu Ling'er heard that Hu Ying wanted to buy her master, she became more hostile towards this flamboyantly dressed concubine.

"How much money would you be willing to pay?" Hu Ying felt that Song Jiao was a lowly commoner, and even if she were sold, she wouldn't be worth ten taels of silver.

Qiu Yan: "Not for sale even at a price of ten thousand gold pieces!"

"Her?" With a bang, Hu Ying loosened her grip, and a bowl of wontons fell straight to the ground, shattering into pieces and scattering wontons all over the floor, creating a mess.

Hu Ying was ultimately just a concubine; she lacked the demeanor of a noblewoman.

Inside the shop, all the diners looked at Hu Ying with hostile gazes.

Zhu Juan's duty was to protect Gu Xiaoran. Upon seeing the disturbance at the shop, she immediately carried Gu Xiaoran to the backyard.

Gu Xiaoran protested, wanting to see what was going on, but his protests were ineffective; Zhu Juan was now closer to Gu Xiaoran than to herself.

Zhang Yuan and Gao Ming were just waiting for Qiu Yan's order so they could kick the young woman out of the shop.

Zhu Silang and the Cao couple came out of the kitchen at the same time, wanting to see who was causing trouble.

Tian Xiu's eyes turned red with anger. This little woman was just looking for trouble.

Qiu Ling'er wanted to step forward to argue with Hu Ying, but Tian Xiu pulled her behind her. "Ling'er, it's dangerous."

Qiu Yan stood up and looked calmly at Hu Ying in front of her. Before she could speak, Qiu Ling'er broke free from Tian Xiu's restraints and ran over.

Then, she grabbed the silver notes from the table, stuffed them into her bosom, and said to Hu Ying:

"You broke our soup bowl, so this hundred taels of silver is your apology!"

Qiu Yan thought to herself, "This little sister is getting cuter and cuter; she's actually thinking the same thing as me."

"You little brat, give me back my silver notes!" Hu Ying tried to snatch them. This was money she had borrowed with great difficulty, and now that Song Jiao hadn't bought them, she certainly couldn't let Qiu Yan get them for free.

However, with her older sister Qiu Yan protecting her, Qiu Ling'er was unable to achieve her wish.

With a loud crash, Hu Ying smashed another soup bowl. "If you don't pay me back, I'll smash all your soup bowls!"

Tian Xiu and Cao Shi felt a pang of heartache at the sight, wondering what the magistrate thought, that he could take such a woman into his household.

Qiu Ling'er: "One soup bowl costs one hundred taels, two soup bowls cost two hundred taels."

After saying that, she spread her hands and said, "Pay up!"

"Little girl, do you think I'm a sucker, easy to bully?" Hu Ying said, raising her hand to slap Qiu Ling'er.

However, as soon as she raised her hand, Qiu Yan used her elbow to push her backward, causing her to lose her balance and fall to the ground.

Hu Ying cried out in pain. She touched her stomach, slowly got up, and then scolded sharply:

"Qiu Yan, you've gone too far! You've ruined my child, you can't bear the consequences!"

Qiu Yan then realized that Hu Ying was pregnant.

Because of the magistrate's favor, everyone treated Hu Ying with utmost respect, but Qiu Yan was quite different.

Hu Ying was furious and grabbed another soup bowl, smashing it on the ground with a bang.

Qiu Yan didn't stop her, letting her smash it. Qiu Ling'er looked at the broken porcelain on the ground and said, "Another hundred taels of silver!"

Hu Ying almost ground her teeth to powder. She picked up another soup bowl, about to smash it, but remembering Qiu Ling'er's words, she forcibly withdrew her hand.

Immediately, she shouted towards the door.

"Men, smash their shop! They're never allowed to do business again!"

At Hu Ying's command, three men dressed as attendants in black instantly appeared in front of the shop.

Tian Xiu and the Cao couple's expressions changed instantly. They genuinely cared about Qiu Yan and only wanted to do business well, but why did trouble always seem to come their way?

Gao Yuan and Zhang Ming rushed out of their shop to stop them and got into a fight with the followers.

Qiu Yan never expected that Hu Ying would actually have an attendant with her.

At the shop entrance, Gao Yuan had just knocked back the fists of his attendant beside him.

Immediately following him was his second follower.

A hand chop came straight at him.

Seeing this, Qiu Yan slipped into the fighting crowd.

Turning around, she used the same tactic against him, knocking out her second follower with a chop to the neck.

Gao Yuan glanced gratefully at Qiu Yan and continued to deal with his attendant.

However, he was not a skilled opponent and found it somewhat difficult to exchange blows.

In the blink of an eye, Qiu Yan saw three of her attendants, each wielding a dagger, lunge straight at Zhang Ming's back.

With a slight shift of her feet, she rushed to Zhang Ming's side and grabbed the wrists of the three attendants.

Then, with a forceful pull, the attendant cried out in pain as the dagger slipped from his grasp and was caught by Qiu Yan with one hand.

Finally, she struck her follower Sanxinmen with a palm strike, forcing him to fall backward to the ground.

While the third follower was on the ground, Gao Ming and Zhang Yuan worked together to deal with the first follower.

Seeing that neither of his two companions was a match for Qiu Yan, the attendant focused his attention and attacked Qiu Yan.

Qiu Yan took a step back, and the instant her attendant three stood up, she stepped directly on his shoulder, and kicked her feet at the back of her attendant one. As she fell, the dagger slashed his back.

One of the attendants felt a sharp pain in his back, and blood stained his back.

The attendant quickly moved away from Qiu Yan. That was it; if the fight continued, he would lose his life to this girl.

Gao Yuan and Zhang Ming suddenly felt that they were now superfluous.

Looking at Qiu Yan, they felt ashamed of themselves.

"You bunch of useless trash, utter trash!"

Hu Ying was furious and cursed loudly. She never expected that Qiu Yan, a weak woman, could contend with her three attendants and even win.

You should know that in her eyes, these people were exceptionally skilled.

However, before she could turn around and run away, she felt a chill on the back of her neck, which made her shiver.

When she turned around again, she found that Qiu Yan had already pressed a dagger against the back of her neck, which terrified her.

Her lips trembled.

"What... what do you want to do, Qiu Yan? Are you trying to kill me?"

Qiu Ling'er's tense expression immediately relaxed.

"Sister, make her pay the money! She still owes two hundred taels of silver! No..."

Qiu Ling'er glanced at Gao Yuan and Zhang Ming, who had sustained minor injuries, and said, "Brother Gao and Brother Zhang are both injured. They'll need at least three hundred taels!"

Qiu Yan nodded, "Okay, I'll listen to Ling'er."

"Three hundred taels, little girl, I think you're terrified of poverty!" If Hu Ying hadn't been restrained by Qiu Yan, she would have already started cursing.

Qiu Yan: "Three hundred taels, not a single copper coin less!"

"Aunt Hu, if you can't pay me three hundred taels of silver, you'll stay and be my slave. You can leave only when you've earned that three hundred taels."
