Chapter 570 No Going Back

He had been venting his anger, and now Liu Qi was cursing him like this, he almost fainted.

Enraged, he picked up Liu Qi's broken bowl and smashed it a long way.

"Who are you calling sick? You're the one who's sick!"

As he smashed it, the bowl shattered into pieces, and the copper coins inside clattered and scattered all over the ground.

"It's broken again." Liu Qi's lips twitched slightly. Looking at the stares of the surrounding crowd, he paused, his voice low and deep.

"Grandpa, why are you doing this? I'm just trying to raise money to save your life. Besides, aren't you hungry too? I'm a grown man, I can manage, but what about you?"

He's still acting.

Liu Qi's words choked with emotion, which attracted many kind-hearted people.

Liu Qi received another handful of copper coins. He bowed deeply, expressing his gratitude repeatedly.

"You, Liu Qi, are you cursing me to die? I won't listen! Let me tell you, even if you die, I will live a good life." Old Zhao clutched his chest in anger, but his appearance only made him more pitiful.

"Crazy old man, this is money, why not take it?" Liu Qi muttered to himself.

"Get out of here, get out of here right now, and don't show your face in front of me." Old Zhao felt really uncomfortable being used by Liu Qi.

He's not crazy at all; he's perfectly normal.

Furthermore, he is the high-ranking Dr. Zhao; how could he deceive passersby to gain their pity?

Liu Qi bent down to pick up the copper coins on the ground. "Great-grandfather, you've never experienced hardship. What did you eat when you had no money?"

"I have plenty of money." Old Zhao patted his pockets. Where was his money?

He clearly remembered that he had brought money with him when he went out today.

He looked at Liu Qi with hostility, "Did you steal my purse?"

Liu Qi shook his head: "Am I that kind of person? Ever since I first saw you, your pockets have been empty."

"Never mind, I have money at home," Old Zhao said, and prepared to go home.

Liu Qi followed behind. "I'll take you back."

Old Zhao: "Don't follow me."

"It was a promise, you promised to let me be your great-grandson-in-law." Liu Qi really didn't want to live this kind of life of going hungry one day and eating another the next.

Old Zhao remembered what he had said earlier.

He tried hard to recall what his great-granddaughter looked like, but he just couldn't remember.

Furthermore, he has no sons, let alone grandsons, so where did his great-granddaughters come from?

Old Zhao fell into deep despair.

He was so angry with Liu Qi that he was completely confused. "It's a promise. You'll be my great-grandson. You can't go back on your word."

Liu Qi nodded, then waved his hands and continued, "Look, my hands just can't stop shaking. Do you think it's because I have some stagnant toxins in my body?"

Old Zhao rolled his eyes. "You're sick, you have delusions."

He was clearly hungry.

Liu Qi… I suppose he's not sick. “Old man, where do you live?”

"My home..."

The old man scratched his head, racking his brains for a while, and said, "You really have made me confused."

How could he forget where he lives?

Liu Qi: "Don't you remember?"

Sigh, he patted his head. This old man, so senile, he couldn't help but be confused too.

He actually believed it was some great-granddaughter.

"Don't remember? Then come with me and beg for money."

Liu Qi thought this idea seemed pretty good.

That way, he won't go hungry anymore.

He stood up, ready to leave.

"Where are you going?" Old Zhao grabbed Liu Qi's wrist.
