Chapter 476 It Has Its Own Use

"Nonsense!" Gu Qian didn't want Xiao Ran to take this risk.

He shook his head, then walked towards the assassin and observed him closely.

"Xiao Ran, don't expect assassins to tell the truth."

He knew that Xiao Ran was eager to find out who was behind it all.

However, things were far from as simple as he had imagined.

He couldn't find anything about the Prince Yi's residence.

He Jinran: Could it be that all assassins are mute?

He asked, "Why?"

Gu Qian: "In Dongjin, assassins are a rare and lowly existence."

“They were either orphans or children sold by poor farming families who couldn’t make ends meet.”

"After these children are bought by dark forces, they undergo decades of brutal training, with the fittest being selected and ultimately turned into inhuman killing weapons."

“They are merely weapons, completely unaware of their master’s intentions, so capturing such people alive is pointless.”

Gu Qian thought of the black-clad leader who had been spewing slander at the back of Qingyun Mountain last time.

"Extremely scarce?" He Jinran also thought of the scene at the back of Qingyun Mountain.

The fact that so many assassins were dispatched to deal with him shows that the person behind this is quite powerful and determined to kill him.

He suddenly felt a chill down his back and unconsciously hugged his elbows.

Looking at the suicide squad members, it's truly a miracle that they survived in that environment.

"He threw up." He Jinran finished speaking, but the assassin seemed not to have heard him and continued chewing.

In reality, he was stunned by Gu Qian's words.

"I told you not to eat!" He Jinran slapped the assassin hard on the back.

*Pfft...* The assassin coughed violently, spitting out the fish meat in his mouth, but his body remained standing straight.

Cough cough cough...

The assassin followed closely, then coughed violently again.

The feeling of a fishbone stuck in your throat is so uncomfortable.

He couldn't cough it up, and his eyes turned red from holding it in.

As he opened his mouth, he suddenly felt a burning sensation on his tongue.

But He Jinran picked up his wine glass and suddenly poured a mouthful of strong liquor down his throat.

After drinking the wine, the assassin coughed even more violently.

"Can't drink?" He Jinran raised an eyebrow, then forced another mouthful of strong liquor down the throat of the assassin.

"Cough cough..." The assassin's cheeks flushed red, and he knelt down with a thud, coughing so hard he could barely breathe.

Finally, with one last violent cough, he spat out the fishbone.

There were still traces of blood on it.

The assassin glanced almost imperceptibly at He Jinran, then instantly looked away.

Unexpectedly, His Highness the Crown Prince would help him.

Even though the Crown Prince forced him to eat the fish, why did he feel grateful?

"Get up and keep drinking!"

He Jinran helped him up.

The next instant, however, the sounds of fighting erupted outside once again.

Xuanming and Xuanying's first reaction was to control the assassins and guard the entrance to the kitchen.

"Is this ever going to end?!" He Jinran was furious because there were always people trying to kill him.

But so far, no one has wanted to harm him.

He tried to leave the house, but Gu Qian grabbed his elbow.

"Stay put."

Gu Qian pulled the person back to a dining chair and made them sit down again.

Then, he drew his soft sword, about to end the assassin's life with a single blow, when He Jinran stopped him with an outstretched arm.

"Father, this person is useful to me."

Hearing the fighting outside getting more intense, Gu Qian went straight to the assassin, and with a few cracking sounds, dislocated his arms and legs before rushing out of the kitchen and fighting with the people outside.

The assassins fell to the ground in agony.

Even so, He Jinran still didn't hear a single groan of pain from the assassin, thinking to himself, "This person is really good at enduring pain."

He knelt down and wiped the blood from the corner of the assassin's lips. Then, he forcibly pulled him to sit on the ground and lean against the back of the dining chair.

The assassin was stunned. In all his memory, no one had ever treated him like this.

He instinctively tried to raise his hand to touch the corner of his lips, but his arm had been dislocated and he couldn't lift it.

"Since you're not even afraid of death, why are you afraid of being my slave?" Unable to get an answer, He Jinran shifted his focus, "Don't you want to live an upright life?"

Infiltrating their ranks to understand them and their enemy is one approach.

He suddenly became interested in the lives of these assassins.

As he thought about it, a smile returned to his lips.

The fighting outside seemed to have nothing to do with him, and his thoughts had long since drifted away.

He grabbed the assassin's chin, picked up the wine jug, and gulped it down.

The assassin coughed repeatedly, choked by the fumes.

"No……"

He Jinran: "What do you mean?"

So he wasn't mute after all.

"I don't drink alcohol."

"You can't even drink properly." He Jinran said, taking a swig of alcohol, but in the next instant, he spat the alcohol all over the face of the assassin in front of him.

He looked embarrassed, which made Xuanming Xuanying, who was guarding the door, suppress a laugh.

He Jinran's lips tightened, and he took out a handkerchief to wipe the wine off the face of the assassin in front of him.

He hadn't expected that the wine in his mansion, which looked sickly, would be so potent.

In fact, he had never drunk alcohol.

The assassin stared blankly at He Jinran's actions. "If you want to kill me, then kill me. Don't waste your time on me. I don't know anything about this."

The assassin was certain that, in the past ten years, this was the only day he had spoken the most, the day he considered his death.

"You're so handsome, wouldn't it be a waste to kill you?" He Jinran's casual remark made the assassin's eyes widen slightly.

"What's your name?" He Jinran also sat on the ground and started chatting with the assassin.

"No name." The assassin seemed to think that He Jinran was somewhat special and different from others, and even answered the question.

"No names? Then what do you usually call them?" Even assassins are human after all, He Jinran thought to himself.

"Nineteen, I am nineteen. When I die, a new person will take my place."

The assassin's words were simple, and He Jinran understood them.

"Nineteen? How many of you are there in total, you suicide squad?"

Nineteen people.

"So, he's the last one. No wonder I couldn't even beat him." He Jinran thought to himself after hearing this. Nineteen? Does that mean that after the nineteenth one dies, there will be no one to take his place?

Well, that's not something he should be concerned about.

Suicide Squad: Have we fought before?

Then, He Jinran did something that surprised the other three.

That is, they took off their outer robes and draped them over the bodies of the assassins.

Furthermore, he loosened his hair bun and re-tied it.

Xuanming Xuanying only hesitated for a moment before realizing He Jinran's intention.

The expression on the face of that assassin was as fascinating as could be.

The fighting stopped.

Under the bright moonlight, He Xuan looked out the window at the mess inside the mansion, his knuckles cracking as he clenched his fists.

His mansion, houses, pavilions and towers were all damaged.

This He Jinran is really causing him trouble.

When they searched for Gu Qian again, there was no sign of him anywhere.

He looked at Chu Wei and said...

"Tell His Highness the Crown Prince to clean up this mess!" he shouted angrily, then lay down on the bed.

When Chu Wei went to the kitchen again, He Jinran was nowhere to be found.
