Chapter 1024: Fame

Chapter 1024: Fame

After leaving Mohui Garden, there were many teenagers and children gathered outside. Mr. Zhuang paused, took out a handful of money from his purse, and waved to the group of children.

When the leading teenager saw this, he immediately led a group of children to surround them.

Bai Shan and Man Bao Bai Erlang looked at him in confusion, not understanding what the master was going to do.

Mr. Jiang saw it and smiled slightly, then stood aside waiting for him.

Mr. Zhuang handed the handful of money to the young man and said with a smile, "A great poem has just appeared and has been selected as the top poem. You two can go and run around the streets and alleys."

The boy happily agreed.

Mr. Zhuang then read Bai Shan's poem to them word for word. The young man read it twice, and after making sure he hadn't missed anything, he turned to the people around him and asked, "Have you all memorized it?"

"I remember it." After that, one person read two sentences, and the person next to him continued with two sentences. Some children were young and only remembered one sentence, but they still remembered it.

Seeing this, the young man nodded slightly and assured Mr. Zhuang, "Don't worry, Master. We've got it all in mind. I wonder where the top of the list is from and how old he is this year?"

"Bai Shan, a student at the Imperial College, is thirteen years old this year."

"Young Master Bai is amazing," the young man praised exaggeratedly before asking, "Don't you pass on your origins?"

Mr. Zhuang smiled and said, "No need. Just teach Bai Shan from the Imperial Academy."

The boy took note of it, stuffed the money given by Mr. Zhuang into his arms, called his friends to the side to discuss it for a while, and soon ran happily along the street, reciting Bai Shan's poem.

The three disciples who had never seen the world opened their mouths wide and watched all this in shock.

Mr. Zhuang smiled apologetically at Mr. Jiang after seeing this and said, "These children have never seen the world. I'm sorry to have embarrassed you, Mr. Jiang."

Mr. Jiang retracted his gaze and said with a smile, "Young people are so innocent. It's rare, so rare."

He was about to leave when he remembered something, "Hey, haven't you been in Beijing for several months? How come they still don't understand this?"

Mr. Zhuang smiled and said, "I used to think that since they were young, there was no need to rush into such things, so I just kept them in the courtyard studying."

Mr. Jiang walked and talked to Bai Shan, "It's better to become famous early. Don't feel embarrassed. Others want your age, but you don't have your talent yet. Since you have something that others don't have, you should make good use of it. Otherwise, wouldn't it be a waste?"

The servants of the poetry meeting brought out the black chrysanthemum. Mr. Jiang was very happy and asked his servants to take it. Then he pulled Mr. Zhuang to ride with him, leaving Bai Shan and his three disciples still confused as they climbed into their own carriage.

Not far from the carriage, one could faintly hear someone reciting his poems in unison.

Manbao and Bai Erlang looked at Bai Shan from the left and right.

Bai Shan's face flushed slightly, and he asked angrily, "Why are you looking at me?"

Manbao felt like he had really learned a lot today. "So this is how you become famous."

Bai Shan's face cooled down, and he began to think, "No wonder scholars coming to Beijing have to spend so much money. My grandmother told me before I came here that if I didn't have enough money, I could ask Liu Gui for it. So this is how money is spent."

Manbao and Bai Erlang turned to look at him together.

Bai Shan came back to his senses and saw their gazes, and said, "Don't look at me. I haven't asked Liu Gui for money yet. I'm still using my own money."

Bai Erlang rolled his eyes and said, "Then tell me, if I use this as an excuse to ask my father for money, will he give it to me?"

"He'll give you a beating, right?" Manbao said, "How much money do you have on you? Doesn't your father know? And your brother is still in the capital. Doesn't he know whether you spend any money or not?"

Bai Shan: "Besides, if you want to spend so much money, you have to write a good poem first. When your uncle asks you for a poem, can you write it?"

"If you squeeze a little, you can still make it."

Man Bao said, "If it's not good, it's better to keep it for yourself. It would be embarrassing to spread it around."

Bai Shan nodded.

Bai Erlang thought about it and gave up this great wish. He leaned against the window and sighed, "I don't know when I can spend a lot of money like this and have people recite my poems in the streets like this."

"You're still young, why are you in such a hurry?" Manbao said, "When you're older and more knowledgeable, even if you don't have the talent for it, as long as you put your heart into it, you can always write one or two decent poems."

Bai Shan turned around and asked Man Bao, "Do you want to be famous?"

Manbao thought about it and shook his head, "I don't want to be famous for poetry, I want to be famous for medicine."

Her eyes sparkled as she said, "I hope that in the future everyone on the streets will say that I, Zhou Man, am a little miracle doctor."

Bai Erlang turned around and asked, "Why not the great doctor?"

"You're so stupid. Of course, it's because she's still young. She can only be considered a young doctor." Bai Shan turned to Man Bao and said, "But I think yours is even harder than writing a poem."

Treating people is different from writing poetry. Writing poetry can rely on talent, and with hard work, a flash of inspiration may produce a good poem. However, treating illnesses and saving lives requires not only sufficient knowledge, but also experience and opportunity.

It is not possible to become a famous doctor just by curing one or two patients, let alone a miracle doctor?

Bai Shan looked Man Bao up and down and said, "You are still young, and there is still a long way to go."

Manbao was full of confidence. "I have studied medicine for many years. Don't worry, as long as I have the opportunity, I will definitely soar to the sky."

Back at Changqing Lane, Mr. Jiang carefully looked at the location of their home, took note of it, and decided to visit them often in the future.

He and Mr. Zhuang met by chance while browsing a bookstore. It can't be said that they hit it off right away, but they felt comfortable getting along and could talk to each other. However, Mr. Zhuang seemed to have some concerns before, and was not very willing to tell them where he lived except for his name.

So Mr. Jiang was very much looking forward to being invited by Mr. Zhuang today.

As soon as he entered the gate, Mr. Jiang looked around, and Mr. Zhuang invited Mr. Jiang into the second courtyard.

When Mr. Jiang arrived at the Second Hospital, he was attracted by the potted plants placed in the corridor as soon as he entered.

This is something Manbao bought from a seller in the mall these two days. He didn’t buy it to sell it, but to enjoy it himself.

Everyone likes to look at beautiful flowers. This time, Manbao did not choose any particularly rare colors and varieties. She thought about what kind of flowers she liked and what kind of flowers Bai Shan and her husband liked, so she bought some and put them in the corridor.

So now the flowers in the corridor are very normal, but they are very colorful, they look bright and make you feel happy.

Mr. Jiang couldn't help but feel happy when he saw them, but he was more certain that Mr. Zhuang's taste seemed a bit vulgar. Most of these flowers were bright colors, mostly red and yellow.

Mr. Jiang looked at the pots one by one along the corridor and nodded. "Mr. Zhuang's yard is very elegantly decorated."

Mr. Zhuang glanced at his three disciples and said with a smile, "These were all arranged by the three children yesterday. They said it was a holiday and they wanted something festive. Mr. Jiang, shall we go sit in the study?"

The next update will be around 6:00 PM
