Chapter 1756 Vacation
Bai Erlang's eyes fell on the soup they gave to Yin Huo.
Yin Huo smiled and pushed his bowl of soup a little closer to him, "Is this bowl for you?"
Bai Erlang took a look and reached out to take it.
Bai Shan shook his head, took Bai Er's bowl and poured a bowl of soup for Yin Huo. He turned to look at Man Bao and asked, "Do you want some soup?"
Manbao immediately shook his head, "I want to save my stomach for vegetables."
Bai Erlang, who was drinking with gusto, had a moment of regret. Yes, soup is very filling, but he is not like Yin Huo, who can't eat too much of this or that. He can obviously eat a lot of delicious food.
Everyone had a very late lunch together and basically didn't need to eat anything in the evening.
Manbao said to Xiao Qianshi, "Sister-in-law, I'd like to have a bowl of bamboo shoot noodles tonight."
Bai Shan also immediately said, "I want bamboo shoot noodles too."
Bai Erlang said, "I'll add some more diced radish."
Madam Liu smiled and said, "Then let the kitchen prepare another bowl of noodles for you later."
Manbao ordered for Yin Huo, "Yin Huo, please have the clear soup noodles. My sister-in-law makes them very delicious."
Qian couldn't stop laughing and tapped her forehead and said, "You've just finished one meal and you're already thinking about the next one."
Mr. Zhuang couldn't help but smile and called a few people over. "We just ate, it's not good to go out chasing the wind. Come to the tea room, we'll sit and talk. When you're tired, you can go out for a walk."
The four of them obediently followed Mr. Zhuang to the tea room.
Just as Xiao Qian was about to clear the dishes, she saw Zhou Lixue and the others still sitting there in a daze. She tapped his forehead and whispered, "What a fool! Mr. Zhuang and your aunt are having tea, and you don't even help boil water and make tea?"
She said, "Take your fourth brother and Shu Ping and go there quickly."
Zhou Lixue stood up blankly, pulled Zhou Ligu and Bai Shuping, and the three of them ran to chase Mr. Zhuang and the others.
Daji and the others had already put away the dishes. When he went out and saw his son still following behind Mr. Zhuang and the young master to serve him, he nodded with satisfaction.
But after entering the tea room, they didn't have to do anything at all. Bai Shan and Manbao went to fetch a large pot of water themselves, and Bai Erlang asked them to gather all the wooden couches and seats in the tea room together.
After Manbao and the others brought the water back, they placed the stove in the corner of the house and started to make a fire to boil water.
They were all very experienced in making fire and lit the charcoal in no time. In order to have a good view, they only closed the half of the door facing them and opened one window, although there was only snow in the garden outside and there was nothing to see.
As soon as the water boiled, everyone breathed a sigh of relief and sat down on the wooden couch. Bai Shan moved his butt and said, "It's still a bit cold. We should put some leather under it."
Zhou Lixue wasn't so particular. He propped up his chin and looked at Mr. Zhuang eagerly, "Sir, are you going to give a lecture to my aunt and the others?"
Mr. Zhuang laughed and asked, "Why, do you want to go to class?"
Zhou Lixue immediately shook his head, then realized that this behavior was not good, so he said, "Of course I have to listen to the teacher's lectures."
Manbao couldn't help but look at him, "Flatterer."
Bai Erlang nodded in agreement, "That's right."
Zhou Lixue ignored them both and continued looking at Mr. Zhuang.
Mr. Zhuang smiled and said, "It's not a class, just a chat to wake you up."
He paused and said to Manbao, "I wanted to take you to climb the mountain, but I think it's very humid and cold up there, so it would be nice for everyone to sit down and talk."
In fact, seeing that they were having a good time today and seemed to have forgotten the recent lows, he was too lazy to take them up the mountain again.
Walking on mountain roads in snowy weather is not only difficult but also dangerous.
Mr. Zhuang asked with a smile, "Are you going to build a snowman tomorrow?"
Manbao and the others who were planning this nodded repeatedly, their eyes full of excitement, "Sir, would you like to go with us?"
Mr. Zhuang smiled and said, "I'll just watch. You guys build one for me too."
Even Zhou Lixue said it was no problem.
They gathered together to talk about eating, drinking, and having fun, happily whileing away the time. It wasn't until dusk that Mr. Zhuang pointed to the setting sun and said to her, "The sunset is beautiful, but we all know that once it appears, it's not far from nightfall. It always has only one outcome. The sunrise is better because after the sunrise there's still a whole day. It could be windy and snowy, or it could be sunny and bright. The possibilities are endless."
Everyone was confused. Mr. Zhuang said softly, "You are the rising sun. I and those people are old. We are the setting sun."
Manbao and Baishan immediately understood what Mr. Zhuang meant. Yin Huo also fell into deep thought. Only Bai Erlang scratched his head and looked around, then stared at Zhou Lixue and others who also looked confused.
Fortunately, he knew more about the inside story than they did. Bai Erlang always believed that if he didn't understand something, he would ask Bai Shan and Zhou Man later.
Generally speaking, if it is not a serious matter, the gentleman will not say such things to them on purpose.
He felt that these words were words of encouragement, so after the master left, he turned around and asked Manbao, "Is the master praising us?"
Manbao said: "It's encouragement, not praise."
She said, "But sir, you are not the setting sun."
Bai Shan: "Yes, that's the most beautiful one."
Manbao: "Yes, some sunsets are as bright as oranges, while others are as ugly as mosquito blood."
So Bai Shan told her about the bad things those people said, "Those people are not like mosquito blood, they are all black, just like before a heavy rain."
Manbao: "It's still raining stinky rain."
Bai Shan: "Yes, it stinks."
Yin Huo: ...So his little friend is this kind of little friend?
Zhou Lixue was completely confused and turned to ask Bai Erlang, "Who offended them? Who are they saying bad things about?"
Mr. Zhuang was being too subtle, but Bai Shan and Man Bao were being very clear. As soon as they started to curse, Bai Erlang knew who they were talking about. Although he didn't know who they were, he could only refer to them as "a bunch of bad guys."
Zhou Lixue got to the bottom of it, "Who is that?"
Bai Erlang said with a serious expression: "If I knew who it was, I could become Tang Xuexiong's official."
Bai Shan turned his head and said, "Are you dreaming?"
Manbao said: "You have to work hard for at least another twenty years."
Bai Erlang was unwilling to accept it, "Why? I'm a very good student now. Minister Wang praised me last time."
"Because Brother Tang is not young anymore," Manbao said, "Can you be better than Brother Tang?"
Bai Jilang thought about it and shook his head willingly to admit that he was no match for the other party.
"So if you want to become a sixth-rank official, it will take at least twenty years." Man Bao pondered this for a moment, then chuckled, "I'm already a sixth-rank official now, and half a level higher than Brother Tang."
Bai Shan remembered something and asked, "You're going to the Grand Court Meeting the day after tomorrow, right? Are you going to sit with Brother Tang?"
See you at 9pm
