Chapter 3007: Strong

Chapter 3007: Strong

Bai Shan brought back a scholar from Qingzhou, whose surname was Qian, and temporarily settled him in the post station.

Zhou Man congratulated him on finding a good talent, and Bai Shan looked up and looked at her steadily.

Zhou Man caught his gaze, leaned back slightly, and asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Bai Shan said calmly: "Mr. Qian didn't come for me, he came for you."

Zhou Man's eyes were full of confusion. "For me?"

Bai Shan nodded: "Aren't you short of staff in your medical department?"

Zhou Man nodded blankly, "Yes, I'm waiting for the governor to send someone to me."

Bai Shan then said, "Mr. Qian has served as an official in the Governor's Office and Linzi County. From what he said, he seems to like the Medical Bureau very much and wants to apply for a job there."

Bai Shan went to Qingzhou City twice. The first time, Mr. Qian happened to be out traveling, so he missed it. He went again two days later and finally caught up with him.

But Mr. Qian had no intention of entering the county government office. Instead, he was very interested in the medical department.

He originally wanted to apply for a job in the medical department, but when Bai Shan came to him, he packed up his things and left without a second thought. However, he had other intentions. He didn't want to be Bai Shan's subordinate, but wanted to be his wife's subordinate.

What else could Bai Shan do? Of course he could only bring the person back.

"It's too late to introduce him to you today. Tomorrow, after I finish my work at the county government office, I will bring him to the hospital to see you."

Zhou Man was naturally happy that his medical department was valued, so he responded happily.

The next day, Zhou Man was looking forward to seeing Mr. Qian before he even went to the clinic. However, when he arrived, he forgot about him. It seemed that there were more patients coming today, and many people were still waiting outside the door.

When Zhou Man was about to arrive at the door of the clinic with Xibing, the door was just opening. People waiting for medical treatment outside immediately rushed in and almost pushed old man Fei, who was opening the door, to the ground.

Old Man Fei held onto the door and said, "Don't push, don't push, Master Zhou hasn't arrived yet... Oh, Master, you're here."

When Old Man Fei saw Zhou Man standing on tiptoe behind the crowd to look inside, he quickly moved aside to let her in.

Zhou Man waved his hand and asked him to let those who needed medical treatment in first.

Everyone was rushing into the clinic, hurrying as fast as they could. The young man, who had spent a night in the wild and had come to the city early in the morning with his mother and younger brothers and sisters, pushed a cart and asked for directions along the way. When he got there, he saw everyone crowded into the clinic. Afraid of being left behind, he quickly trotted, dropped the cart in front of the door, and was about to carry his mother inside. However, he was too weak to lift her up on the first try.

Seeing this, Zhou Man reached out to help him lift it, and at the same time helped him support the other person. He glanced at the two children leaning against the cart and asked, "Do you want to push the cart in?"

The young man tried hard to raise his head to see the person who helped him, but he only raised it halfway, so he could only say: "Thank you, my lady, just help me put the car by the doorstep, I will come out to get it later."

Zhou Man responded, but waved to call Xibing. One of them held a quilt, and the other dragged a cart into the yard.

Xibing parked the cart at the doorstep. Zhou Man placed the quilt on the cart and then helped the woman behind him inside. He led her to the back room and pointed directly at a bed, saying, "Put it on the bed."

The young man was led inside in a daze. Only then did he realize what was happening and asked hurriedly, "Where is this?"

"This is where the patients live. Let's put them down first."

Zhou Man helped the woman lie down on the bed. The young man finally saw Zhou Man's appearance and knew at a glance that she was not seeking medical treatment. He was hesitant when Wen Tiandong came in and saluted, saying, "Sir, everyone is already lined up in the front yard."

He looked at the woman lying on the bed curiously, "This is..."

"This is a new patient too." Zhou Man turned and asked the young man, "Have you had breakfast?"

The boy shook his head blankly, then nodded immediately after realizing what was happening.

Zhou Man said, "Do you have any dry food? There's hot water and cooling soup in the kitchen of the medical department. You can have a bowl."

After saying that, she nodded and went out to see the patients waiting in line in the yard first. She brought Wen Tiandong over when it was time for lunch and rest at noon.

The young man stood up nervously. He already knew Zhou Man's identity. He had been working hard to clean the medical office and distribute summer-cooling soups all morning. His only goal was to hope that Mr. Zhou would let his mother stay here for treatment.

They were also having lunch, which consisted of black steamed buns that the boy had brought from home, which could be eaten after soaking in warm water.

He had been preparing it quietly for several days, but it wasn't much. He and his mother shared one piece, and his younger brother and sister shared one piece.

Zhou Man took a quick look and asked the boy, "Did you bring your household registration? Are you a lower-class household or a middle-class household?"

The young man was in high spirits and immediately said, "My family is the lower household!"

He immediately opened the bundle and took out several household registrations from it to show Zhou Man. He had taken them out secretly and put them in the bundle on purpose, and asked his sister to throw them out of the window to him.

Zhou Man flipped through it and nodded, then returned the household registration to him and went to see his mother.

The woman lay there feeling a little uneasy. Zhou Man stood in front of the bed, looking at her and asked with a smile, "Don't be nervous. Is your leg uncomfortable?"

The woman responded quietly, "I can't stand up."

Zhou Man reached out to touch her leg, and while observing her expression, he asked, "Why can't you stand up? Is your leg injured?"

"No," this was the reason why the woman had been so frightened and her family had been unwilling to see a doctor. She pinched the corner of her clothes and said, "I suddenly couldn't walk. I was fine the day before, slept all night, and couldn't get up in the morning..."

Zhou Man was very curious when he heard it. Wen Tiandong also took two steps forward and looked down at the woman's waist with his husband.

Zhou Man also suspected that she had a problem with her waist, so he rolled up his sleeves and began to examine her from the head up. "How long has it been?"

"Four years."

It wasn't short anymore, but her leg muscles were still okay. It looked like she had tried to move, and she had been well cared for. Zhou Man asked, "Did you feel any discomfort or abnormality before you couldn't get up?"

"My waist is extremely sore, but I'm used to it and didn't think it was a problem at the time. I wonder if this counts?"

"Never mind," Zhou Man thought, she was used to the soreness and pain, which in itself was a problem. She checked her body one by one, and asked her how it felt when she pressed each place. When she pressed her waist, she sometimes said she didn't feel anything, and sometimes said it was very painful.

Zhou Man pressed on her legs. She was conscious and could even react if she pressed harder on the acupoints, but she just couldn't stand up.

It's not a leg issue.

After Zhou Man finished his examination, he glanced at Wen Tiandong, who was eager to try, and asked the woman, "Do you mind if Master Wen examines you again?"

See you at 7pm
