Chapter 368: Become a Disciple
Mr. Zhuang's heart moved, and he smiled and said, "That's no problem. Regardless of whether they are accepted into my sect or not, I have always taught them the same way. However, if they are accepted into my sect, they must be ranked. I have already accepted Manbao as a disciple, and then I agreed to Shanbao first, so Erlang..."
Master Bai turned around and shouted at the bewildered Bai Erlang, "What are you still standing there for? Call me Master, Brother, and Sister!"
Mr. Bai heard two days ago that Shanbao had a fight with Manbao for the title of senior brother and lost.
Shirojiro:......
Manbao and Bai Shanbao were satisfied, and both tilted their heads back waiting for Bai Erlang to call them.
Bai Erlang looked at the two men who were obviously shorter than him with a confused look on his face, and pouted in grievance, but before he could say anything to object, Master Bai slapped him on the back of the head.
Under his father's gaze, Bai Erlang reluctantly called Manbao "Senior Sister" and Bai Shanbao "Senior Brother", and then looked at Mr. Zhuang with tears in his eyes.
Mr. Zhuang felt that he was really embarrassing the child, so he gently patted his head and led everyone into the main hall. He smiled and said, "Since that's the case, you should all perform the apprenticeship ceremony together."
Manbao immediately stood behind Mr. Zhuang alertly and looked at his two junior brothers complacently.
Mrs. Zhuang quickly brought over the brewed tea. Bai Shanbao took one cup first, and then Bai Erlang took the remaining cup.
The two of them knelt down together to offer tea to Mr. Zhuang and bowed.
Mr. Zhuang smiled, took their tea and took a sip, encouraged them and then gave each of them a set of four treasures of the study.
Originally he had only prepared one set, but fortunately there were many educated people in their family, so they were able to find a set temporarily.
Manbao looked at the two of them happily, feeling quite happy about the buy-one-get-one-free deal.
Bai Shanbao was also very happy, and his eyes were full of joy when he looked at Bai Erlang.
Bai Erlang looked at Bai Shanbao, then at Manbao, feeling extremely depressed. Sure enough, he still hated Manbao and Bai Shanbao. Why on earth did he come to watch the fun today?
Mr. Bai was very happy, and so were Mrs. Liu and her mother-in-law.
Zhuang Dalang and his wife didn't expect that their father's career would be further improved after he went to the countryside to teach, so they were very happy.
Originally, Zhuang Dalang was reluctant to agree with Mr. Zhuang going to the countryside to teach. After all, his father was old and too far away. If he fell ill, he would not be able to take care of him at all.
But seeing that the Bai family valued his father so much, Zhuang Dalang felt relieved in his heart even though he didn't say anything.
Since they value me so much, if I get sick or something happens, the Bai family should be able to take care of me.
Zhuang Dalang was very friendly to Bai Shan and Bai Erlang. As for Manbao who was standing behind Mr. Zhuang, he just glanced at him.
Although he had never seen Manbao, he had heard of him a long time ago.
His father told him that he had accepted a five-year-old girl as his apprentice.
This is my father's first disciple. To be honest, Zhuang Dalang doesn't quite understand it. Even if he wants to accept a disciple, why would he accept a girl?
However, it was obvious that they could not change the decision made by their father, mainly because Zhuang Dalang did not want to interfere too much.
So during this meeting, he just nodded to Manbao.
But Manbao prepared gifts for them all, including Zhuang Dalang and his wife, and their three children.
Of course, there is also Bai Shanbao’s.
After recognizing their master, Bai Shanbao and Bai Erlang had to meet Zhuang Dalang, and then Manbao.
Manbao had already found the gift for Bai Shanbao from Daji's arms and was standing behind Mr. Zhuang, looking at him with bright eyes.
Bai Shanbao stood in front of Manbao. Looking at Manbao, who was half a head shorter than him, he called out reluctantly, "Senior Sister."
Manbao smiled instantly, holding the box with one hand, and with the other hand, she stood on tiptoe to touch Bai Shanbao's head, imitating the way her master touched her, and said happily: "Good boy, come here, this is a gift from your sister."
Bai Shanbao tilted his head slightly with a look of displeasure, reached out to take the box, and was about to open it.
Manbao pressed it down and said, "You can't open it now. You have to wait until we get home."
Bai Shanbao hugged him and said, "Okay."
Then he stepped forward and stood beside Manbao, and they both looked at Bai Erlang.
Bai Erlang stood opposite them, staring at the two of them.
Four against two, Bai Erlang was completely defeated and could only stand in front of Manbao. After thinking for a long time, he finally called out "Senior Sister" with a grunt.
Manbao smiled again and reached out to touch Bai Erlang's head. Then Bai Erlang jumped back and looked at him warily.
Manbao felt a little regretful and could only say, "Be good, Senior Sister didn't know you were going to become my disciple today, so I didn't prepare any gifts for you. I'll give you one when we get back."
Bai Erlang nodded indifferently. He felt that he had nothing in common with Bai Shanbao and Manbao. If they gave him writing brushes, ink, paper and inkstone, would he accept them or not?
So he doesn't care whether it's given or not.
Seeing that he was about to stand beside them, Bai Shanbao stepped forward to block him and said, "You haven't called me yet."
Bai Erlang gritted his teeth at him and called out unwillingly, "Senior Brother..."
After shouting, he felt aggrieved, so he turned around and said to Mr. Zhuang, "Sir, I'm the oldest, so I should be the senior brother, right?"
Mr. Zhuang certainly couldn't let his disciples quarrel among themselves in front of everyone. Moreover, the two most troublesome ones had just been determined in terms of seniority, so he couldn't let any more confusion happen. So he said, "The order of lining up is based on the order of entry."
Bai Erlang then extended his hand to Bai Shanbao: "Then you have to give me a gift too."
Mr. Bai couldn't help but glare at him when he saw him being so rude.
Bai Shanbao didn't mind and happily agreed: "Okay, I'll give it to you when we get back."
Bai Jilang demanded, "I want that slingshot of yours!"
"No!" Bai Shanbao and Manbao rejected him together.
Bai Shanbao said, "That's mine!"
Manbao said: "I gave it to him!"
Bai Erlang then made a request to Manbao, "Then you have to give me the same slingshot as his."
Before Manbao could say anything, Master Bai couldn't help but slapped him on the back and said angrily, "What are you doing playing with a slingshot? I asked you to come here to learn from me, but all you want to do is play!"
Then he looked at Manbao and Bai Shanbao and said, "None of you are allowed to give him toys, understand?"
Bai Shanbao and Manbao nodded repeatedly, they didn't want to send it either.
Food and learning supplies are so good, why give toys as gifts?
Bai Erlang was extremely sad and angry, but he did not dare to resist his father.
After the apprenticeship was completed, Daji and others moved in the remaining gifts.
Among them, Manbao is particularly easy to identify because her things are all packed in bamboo boxes.
Such simple packaging made Zhuang Dalang and his wife look at it with surprise, but seeing that Manbao was just a child, they didn't say anything.
Manbao's gift consisted of five bamboo boxes, one for each member of the Zhuang family except Mr. Zhuang. The rest was the old Zhou family's New Year gift for Mr. Zhuang, the same as in previous years: cured meat, rice, flour, and a jar of pickles.
The three children of the Zhuang family all went to school and were not at home.
But Manbao still gave the prepared gift to Zhuang Dalang. She thought that as a senior sister, since it was her first time to visit the younger generation, how could she not bring a gift?
