Yan Xia never went to university and doesn't know how to teach and nurture students.
She taught one word a day, and over the years, even illiterate people could recognize quite a few words.
Even a clumsy method is still a method.
These four children are all quite smart, and their age is just right for them to learn new things the fastest.
In less than half an hour, everyone had imprinted the character "Chen" in their hearts.
"Alright, go take a nap."
Her two sons took over the task of watering the fields, and in the afternoons she would usually go to a secluded hillside to read.
Jin Fu's stools are carved directly from the wood, so they are very small and ugly.
Yan Xia wanted furniture made with authentic mortise and tenon joints, which are characterized by being able to reinforce the wood joints without using a single nail, and are not only aesthetically pleasing but also more durable. To make the furniture she wanted, she used her remaining 20 points in the shop to buy a self-taught woodworking book.
Worried that her two daughters would see, she could only go to a secluded place to watch.
It took me three days to finally finish reading and learn it.
It's just that having your brain and having your hands are two different things.
Yan Xia took twenty copper coins from her spatial storage, borrowed a set of woodworking tools from the village carpenter, and studied them from morning till night.
They made a dining table and five chairs in just two days.
It looks quite professional.
"I'm a genius."
Yan Xia felt a great sense of accomplishment.
There are still two days until the new house is completed, plus the moving day, so there should be enough time.
She continued making furniture.
Four days later, the dining table, chairs, bed, dressing table, and cabinets in the new house were all finished.
This speed is unmatched even by veteran carpenters.
Of course, the eldest son also helped.
In addition, since we didn't have enough wood to dry at home, we borrowed some from the villagers, which we will return later after drying.
There's plenty of timber on the mountain; no one needs any.
The finished furniture is coated with a layer of 'oil', which was given to us by Brother Qian. It's a natural 'oil' secreted by a tree that can protect the furniture from insects and make the wood more lustrous.
"Mom, we're moving tomorrow. Lamei and I are going to go up the mountain to see if we can find any wild vegetables or mushrooms. Mom, aren't you having a housewarming party? Even though there's only one table, we don't have any food at home. We only have the grain you bought last time."
Guihua carried her basket and prepared to head to the low hill.
“Go ahead, we really need to dig some. We don’t have much money at home right now, otherwise I would have gone to town to buy some. Take your eldest brother and third brother to the hillside and look carefully. We can make mushroom soup with the mushrooms and stir-fry the wild vegetables. That’s a dish too. I’ll also try to find some meat to bring back. Don’t tell your eldest brother, okay? If he asks, just say I went visiting someone, understand?”
Yan Xia was truly terrified of her eldest son.
He's like a butler.
This isn't a son, it's more like he's given birth to a father.
"I know, Mother, I won't say anything, but you're not allowed to go to the high mountains. My elder brother also told me to keep an eye on you." Guihua stuck out her tongue.
This immediately exposed Jin Fu's true colors.
"Okay, okay, go ahead."
Yan Xia pretended to be impatient and chased the two away.
She kept track of the time; the work in the wasteland was almost finished.
So, half an hour later, she picked up her tools and went out.
Sure enough, when they reached the wasteland, there wasn't a soul in sight.
Yan Xia followed the path up the mountain.
Little did she know that just over ten minutes after she entered the mountains, a familiar figure came down from the low hill. Jin Fu was carrying two wild fruits the size of eyes and was walking towards home.
He had just found these on the other side of the hill. They were growing at the top of the tree, probably because no one else could reach them. In order for his mother to eat the fruit, Jin Fu risked his life to climb the tree and pick these fruits.
One for each of my younger brother and sister.
He refused to eat them and gave both to his mother.
However, when he got home, the door was locked.
Mother is not home.
Where did they go?
Suddenly, Jin Fu frowned, a bad feeling creeping into his heart.
He hurriedly ran towards the mountain.
The villagers say that they have been hearing the roar of grizzly bears coming from the mountains lately.
Sometimes large, sometimes small.
He had never seen a grizzly bear; he had only heard about them from his friends in the village when he was a child.
This is a terrifying animal, even bigger than a tiger.
It can kill a person with a single slap, and it can swim, climb trees, and run fast. If you encounter it, you are sure to die.
Jin Fu didn't dare to think too deeply about what might happen if his mother went to the mountains at this time.
He couldn't accept the possibility that something might happen to his mother.
We can only speed up the pace.
Reaching the foot of the mountain, Jin Fu looked at the towering peak before him and felt a surge of fear. The deep-seated fear he had carried since childhood made his heart race, but his mother was still inside.
I hesitated for only two seconds.
Jin Fu then went into the mountains.
He looked at the footprints on the path; they were similar to his mother's shoes.
It seems Mother really has gone into the mountains.
The village elders said that you must never call out someone's name when you go into the mountains, and you must never answer, because once you do, the former will never come back, and the latter will never get out.
Unwavering in his belief, Jin Fu silently followed in Yan Xia's footsteps.
But Yan Xia had already been in the mountains for half an hour by then.
When Jin Fu reached the deep mountains, overgrown with weeds and having lost his mother's footprints, he was completely lost.
The sounds of birdsong and animal calls could be heard from time to time all around.
He was so frightened that he was covered in sweat.
Unfortunately, the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the deep mountains is huge, and fog began to form in the mountains, gradually reducing visibility from more than 100 meters to 50 meters, 30 meters, 20 meters, and even 10 meters.
Jin Fu could no longer hold back, and he began to call out loudly for Yan Xia.
