Chapter 33 Arrives Just in Time

Those who had initially thought that Lin's father might not actually be a child of the Lin family because of Lin Jiujiu's words also came to their senses.

Some of the people who were older than Lin's father also chimed in.

"That's right. Although Old Mrs. Lin is biased, she did give birth to the fifth child. She even fought with my mother when she was pregnant."

"That's right. When Grandma Lin gave birth to her fifth child, it was quite a big event. My grandma was even called to help. I heard that the baby was too big at the time, and Grandma Lin suffered a lot."

Why are you saying now that the fifth child isn't hers?

Hearing these people speak up for her, Old Lady Lin immediately felt more confident.

Pointing at Lin Jiujiu, she said, "You brat, I think you just don't want to acknowledge me as your grandma, that's why you're talking nonsense."

As she spoke, Old Lady Lin sat down on the ground, about to resort to her old tricks and start throwing a tantrum again.

Now she was in the right, and she didn't believe Lin Jiujiu would dare to fight her.

As she thought about it, Grandma Lin glanced at her son.

While she was faking fainting, someone had already gone to call the old man over.

She refused to believe that Lin Jiujiu, no matter how powerful she was, would dare to mess with the old man.

Fortunately, Lin Jiujiu didn't specifically listen to her thoughts, otherwise she would have found it hilarious. Did she think Old Man Lin was some kind of important figure?

Although Lin Jiujiu didn't hear her thoughts, she didn't miss her gaze.

Seeing Old Man Lin and Lin Tianfang rushing over with a dozen young men, he chuckled to himself, thinking, "They've come at just the right time."

Some things should be made clear in front of everyone, lest this old man cause trouble behind our backs again.

As soon as Lin Tianchang arrived, he saw Old Lady Lin sitting on the ground and coldly reprimanded her.

"Lin Jiujiu, is this how you treat your elders? No matter how bad she is, she is still your grandmother. How dare you lay a hand on her? Do you know that this is extremely unfilial?"

Lin Jiujiu seemed to have expected this, and didn't take his scolding words to heart at all.

Instead, he spoke with a hint of mockery.

"They are truly brothers; their methods of disregarding right and wrong and resorting to moral blackmail are exactly the same."

Lin Tianfang knew immediately that the girl was talking about him.

Before she could speak, Lin's father stepped in front of Lin Jiujiu.

The frustration on his face disappeared, replaced by a cold and stern expression.

He slowly raised his head to look at Lin Tianchang and Lin Tianfang, and then spoke coldly.

"Father, am I really a child of the Lin family?"

Although Lin Tianchang hadn't expected things to develop this way, after all, he had started attacking Lin Jiujiu as soon as he arrived, unaware that Lin Jiujiu had already exposed that Lin's father wasn't their child.

When Lin Tianchang was suddenly asked about this, he was taken aback at first, and then he shouted angrily.

"What nonsense are you spouting, you bastard? I raised you from a baby, feeding you every drop of poop and every pee. How can you not be a child of the Lin family?"

At first glance, there seemed to be nothing wrong with what Old Master Lin said, but Lin Jiujiu could hear the old man's shrewdness in it.

He only said that Lin's father was raised by their family, so that even if he was exposed in the future, he would have room to cover it up.

But Lin Jiujiu didn't want him to use the idea that 'the kindness of raising a child is greater than the kindness of giving birth' to continue to manipulate his father.

Without any hesitation, she exposed the trap in his words.

"Grandpa Lin, don't try to confuse the issue. Your old woman said that my father was born from her ten months of pregnancy, but I don't think my father looks like any of your family members."

As soon as Lin Jiujiu said this, everyone's attention was drawn to the Lin family members and Lin's father.

People from the same village wouldn't really notice anything amiss, since they see each other all the time and have gotten used to it over the years.

It's just that those who come from outside to work are very obvious.

If it weren't for Old Mrs. Lin's loud and boisterous outburst at the beginning, scolding Mr. Lin for being unfilial, you wouldn't have been able to tell they were a family.

When Lin Dashuan and his father stood together, they bore no resemblance whatsoever.

Originally, it was thought that some of the brothers resembled their father and others their mother, but now that Grandpa Lin and Grandma Lin are here, it seems that Father Lin really doesn't resemble any of them.

When Grandpa Lin heard Lin Jiujiu's words, he felt annoyed and thought that this girl was just too troublesome.

But in the end, she replied, "That's because your father looks like your great-grandmother. You can ask your second grandfather if you don't believe me."

As he spoke, he looked at Lin Tianfang beside him.

Just as Lin Tianfang was about to nod, Lin Jiujiu burst out laughing.

"How could you say such a lie? The older generation of the Lin family isn't all dead yet."

Everyone knows that my great-grandfather married into the Lin family, and the reason my great-grandmother took him in wasn't because the Lin family had no heirs, but because he was a notoriously ugly man in the whole village.

She had a crooked mouth and slanted eyes, and a bad temper, so no one dared to propose marriage to her. In the end, she had no choice but to take in a son-in-law who would live with her family.

My father is much better looking than your gourd-shaped sons, and yet you have the nerve to say he looks like my great-grandmother?

Lin Tianchang was speechless after being confronted by her, and what Lin Jiujiu said were facts that the older generation in the village already knew.

With everyone present, Lin Jiujiu didn't want to waste time with them.

He grabbed Old Lady Lin and pulled her in front of him, saying, "Didn't you just say you were going to report me to the authorities for being unfilial and make me pay you money? You can go now."

Old Mrs. Lin didn't expect her to be so domineering. She struggled to shake off her hand, looking unwilling. Anyone with eyes could see that.

Seeing her like this, Lin Jiujiu was no longer angry and spoke in a kind and gentle tone.

I'll stay with you.

"By the way, tell me where you stole my dad from back then."

Old Mrs. Lin knew perfectly well what had happened back then, so how could she dare to go to the yamen with Lin Jiujiu?
