As Lin's mother said this, she subconsciously glanced at Lin's father, but in the end, she didn't say anything.
Seeing them like this, Lin Jiujiu sighed inwardly.
"Father, Mother, once my new house is finished, please move in with me."
She plans to build houses on the entire twenty acres of land, enough to house not only her family but also several other families.
Lin Xiaomei was naturally pleased to hear this.
The joy in Lin's father and mother's eyes was fleeting; they knew Lin Jiujiu was filial, and their offer to let them live together was sincere.
But they also knew that as long as Old Master Lin refused to agree to divide the family property, they had no way to escape from that house.
Lin Xiaomei's initially happy expression slowly faded after her parents sighed.
After thinking for a moment, Mr. Lin finally said, "Later, let my younger sister come over to keep you company. We...we'll pass."
Mr. Lin pondered that if he tried, he might be able to get his daughter, Lin, to move in, but that was absolutely out of the question for them.
It wasn't that the Lin family disagreed, but rather that he knew his parents too well. If they dared to bring it up, they would definitely use filial piety as leverage to force them to move into Jiu Jiu's house as well.
Once they're inside, his brothers and sisters will follow like leeches.
Inviting a god is easy, but sending him away is difficult; however, it's unclear who owns this house.
He couldn't possibly drag his daughter down for his own sake.
Therefore, as long as they haven't separated their households, there's absolutely no way they could move in together.
Not only that, I'm afraid I'll have to keep my distance from my daughter in the future, lest she be targeted by the Lin family again because of them.
Lin Jiujiu naturally saw their concerns.
“Father, if it doesn’t work out, let’s separate the family. If that doesn’t work, let’s expel the clan. You’re always worried about your reputation and afraid that your younger siblings will suffer. Haven’t you ever thought that staying there is really bad for them?”
You don't really want your second and third brothers to marry into the family, and your youngest sister to be randomly chosen by that old woman to marry into any family that offers the highest dowry, do you?
When Lin's father heard her say this, he was about to tell her that she shouldn't talk like that, but Lin's mother grabbed him.
"I think what Jiu Jiu said makes sense. I've put up with them for long enough. Don't they even look at the mess they've made of my Jiu Jiu?"
"My daughter Jiu Jiu is building a house this time. If they dare to pull any more tricks, and if you still give in easily, I'll divorce you."
Mr. Lin never expected that his wife, with whom he had shared so many years of life, would say such a thing.
But when he thought back on what his parents had done, he felt that he had nothing to complain about.
Finally, he gritted his teeth and nodded.
"If they cause any more trouble this time, I will definitely not let it go easily."
Although Mr. Lin said that, Mrs. Lin still didn't quite believe him.
But his promise is enough.
In the end, it was Lin's mother who made the final decision: Lin Jiujiu's gifts for them should be kept by her for now, and given to them later.
Lin Jiujiu didn't want to benefit the Lin family, so she nodded in agreement.
But in his heart, he was thinking about how to separate his family from that house as soon as possible.
Otherwise, if she leaves behind a lot of businesses in the future, she cannot hand them over to them, otherwise it will only benefit others.
After seeing the Lin family off, Lin Jiujiu fetched water for Xiaodouding to wash up first, and then carried him to bed.
After the little one fell asleep, she waved her hand and put all the things she didn't need for the time being into her space.
After Lin Jiujiu finished packing her things, she took the basin out to pour water, but when she turned her head, she saw the little bean's eyelids trembling.
Actually, she already knew the little guy wasn't asleep, and she didn't mind him knowing some of her little secrets.
Otherwise, she wouldn't have brought him those foods that are unlikely to exist in this world that morning.
Lin Jiujiu went outside to empty the dirty water, and then went into her space to wash up before coming out.
She snuggled into the newly bought quilt, and the scent of sunshine filled her nostrils, making her feel drowsy. She quickly drifted off to sleep.
The next day.
Early morning of the hour of Mao (5-7 AM).
One after another, oxcarts and mule carts drove into the village, attracting the attention of many people.
"Excuse me, fellow villager, where does Lin Jiujiu's family live?"
The foreman only knew that Lin Jiujiu lived in a village called Dahua Village, but he didn't know its exact location.
Hearing that someone was asking about Lin Jiujiu's home, and that there were so many people and cars, curious onlookers gathered around.
However, no one answered the foreman's question; instead, they all started asking around.
"What do you want with Lin Jiujiu?"
The foreman didn't understand why these people were acting this way, and assumed it was because the village was xenophobic.
She explained politely, "We were invited by Madam Lin to build this house?"
He then pointed to the piles of bricks and tiles on the last few trucks, indicating that they were not lying.
However, these people reacted as if they had heard a joke.
"Lin Jiujiu is so poor, yet she still wants to build a house. What will she use to build it with her body?"
The foreman was already in his forties, but he had heard from the shopkeeper that this Lady Lin was just a young woman in her twenties. Hearing these people using such foul language, he subconsciously frowned.
Just then, a small figure emerged from behind.
Looking at the foreman, he asked, "You were hired by my sister to build this house, right?"
"Your sister is Lin Jiujiu, Lin Niangzi."
Lin Luo knew he was right when he heard this, and plopped down next to the foreman.
“My sister lives at the end of the village, I’ll take you there.”
