Chapter 27 Follow me, and I'll treat you to the best of everything!

"Foreman Jiang, my sister lives alone with her child, so it might be inconvenient for you to come in. How about we talk outside?"

Lin Luo could see the crowd of onlookers following the convoy getting closer and closer. He couldn't let Foreman Jiang into his second sister's yard no matter what, otherwise, who knew what kind of rumors would spread about him.

Jiang, the foreman, was taken aback when he heard this, and then quickly withdrew his foot.

He hadn't thought much about it before, but after hearing Lin Luo say that Lin Jiujiu was a widow, he naturally felt it inappropriate to enter the house.

He simply cupped his hands in greeting to Lin Jiujiu and said, "Please, Madam Lin, speak here."

Lin Jiujiu glanced at Lin Luo but said nothing.

Instead, he took out a stack of blueprints from his sleeve and handed them to Foreman Jiang.

"Foreman Jiang should be able to understand the blueprints, right? The designs I want are all drawn here. Foreman Jiang, take a look first, and ask me if you don't understand anything."

Foreman Jiang was naturally able to understand the blueprints. He took the stack of blueprints handed to him by Lin Jiujiu and began to look at them outside the courtyard gate without going far.

Lin Jiujiu felt that he was wasting time, so she spoke up to remind him.

"Foreman Jiang, building a house should be done step by step. However, I don't like too many unauthorized people entering my area. Why don't you arrange for someone to help me build the courtyard wall first?"

Upon hearing this, Foreman Jiang realized that while he was looking at the blueprints, the workers had been idling around, waiting for him to give them instructions.

Realizing what was happening, Foreman Jiang waved behind him.

Two tall, strong men immediately came over.

One of them, a man in his thirties, looked somewhat like him and they were obviously brothers. The other man, in his twenties, called out to him before he even got close.

"father."

His identity is self-evident.

Foreman Jiang nodded to him and said, "Don't let everyone sit here idly. Take your men and go lay the foundation first."

Upon hearing this, the man smiled obsequiously and asked, "Alright, but where would this lady like to build the house? We need to decide on the location first before we can start digging."

No rush.

Lin Jiujiu pulled Lin Luo closer and pushed him, saying, "You should have seen how the people from Yaxing measured the land yesterday, right? Take this young man over there, and we'll dig out the foundation for the wall today."

Lin Luo was gently pushed by her, but she didn't object. She then spoke to the foreman, Jiang.

"Come with me."

After the two left, Foreman Jiang spoke to Lin Jiujiu again.

“Madam Lin, this is my second brother. He is skilled in carpentry. I heard from Manager Huang that you bought a forest in the back. I asked him to take a few people up the mountain to see if there are any usable mature timbers.”

If there are any usable pieces, just cut them down and bring them back; that would save some money on materials.

Lin Jiujiu had no objection to his statement.

So he nodded.

"Can."

After saying that, he pointed out a path leading up the mountain.

These two had been working with Manager Huang for a long time, and they knew his methods of acquiring land and the marks he left behind better than Lin Jiujiu did, so naturally they didn't need her to guide them.

After settling the two people in, several more large trucks soon arrived.

A robust-looking woman walked up to Lin Jiujiu and asked with a smile.

"Madam Lin, we've come to help with the cooking. We don't know where the stove is located?"

Lin Jiujiu glanced at the group of burly women behind her, thought for a moment, and pointed to a place that was a bit far from where she currently lived.

"Let's just leave it there. Let's light a fire and put it there so that everyone can have some water when they get tired."

The woman was clearly taken aback when she heard this. In the past, when they went to work for others, they were lucky to get a sip of cold water. It was unheard of for the host to specifically ask them to boil hot water for them.

However, this also shows that the host family is kind-hearted, which makes her work even more energetic.

He quickly nodded in agreement, saying, "Alright, don't worry, Madam Lin, we're used to doing this kind of thing, we'll make sure everyone is satisfied."

Lin Jiujiu nodded and didn't say anything more. She paid them to do things, so it was only right that they put their heart into it, wasn't it?

After arranging the workers, Lin Jiujiu ignored Foreman Jiang, who was engrossed in the blueprints, and turned back to the yard to make breakfast.

Lin Jiujiu had bought a lot of rice, flour, and cooking oil yesterday. After looking at the ingredients, she decided to cook some porridge and make some flatbread for the convenience of the morning.

She had just started the stove, and before the water had even boiled, she saw Lin Xiaomei skipping and hopping in.

"Second sister, we're here."

As soon as she finished speaking, Lin's mother and Madam Hu entered the room.

Lin Jiujiu carried the firewood into the stove before getting up.

"Mother, sister-in-law, little sister, what brings you here?"

Seeing her surprised expression, Lin Xiaomei laughed and said, "Second sister, how could we not come and help with something as big as building a house?"

Not only did Dad and my eldest brother come, but my second brother came too.

As for Lin Luo, she hadn't seen him since she woke up early in the morning, so he probably sneaked over a while ago.

Lin Xiaomei peeked around and looked around, but didn't see anyone, so she asked a question.

"Where is Third Brother?"

Lin Jiujiu pointed in a direction and said, "They took people over there to claim land and build a wall."

When Lin Jiujiu heard that the whole family had arrived, she scooped out a lot more rice and flour to add to the pot.

He added, "Then go and call Dad and my brother over. We can talk about it after breakfast."

The Lin family felt sorry for their daughter and wanted to come and help, so she naturally couldn't stop them, but there was no reason to make someone work on an empty stomach.

As for whether they ate at home, that's not even a question. Given the nature of those two old men in the Lin family, they'd never eat without working.

When Lin's mother saw her like this, she knew that she was going to cook for the whole family, so she quickly reached out to stop her.
