Upon hearing this, Magistrate Zhang realized it wasn't a big deal and immediately nodded in agreement.
"Can."
As he spoke, he turned around and glanced back, only to find that the advisor had not followed. He could only say helplessly.
"If it's inconvenient today, you can have your family go to the government office to pick up the new household registration documents tomorrow."
Lin Jiujiu naturally had no objection to this.
He clasped his hands in a respectful bow and said, "Thank you for your kindness, sir."
When Lin's father and his brothers heard that they could register their own household, they were overjoyed and followed Lin Jiujiu's example by clasping their hands in a salute.
The county magistrate nodded to the group and left, but Tantai Yueming and Baili Chenyuan stayed behind.
Lin Jiujiu looked at the two people who were still sitting in the chairs. Seeing that they had no intention of leaving, she did not say anything to shoo them away.
After all, those two had just helped her.
Although it wasn't really necessary, Lin Jiujiu was the type of person who wouldn't cause trouble unless someone bothered her.
These two can sit here if they like, as long as it doesn't interfere with her construction.
Seeing Lin Jiujiu leave without paying attention to them, Tantai Yueming couldn't sit still any longer.
He leaped up and landed in front of Lin Jiujiu.
If she had walked any faster, she might have bumped right into his arms.
Tantai Yueming was so frightened by this that she quickly took a step back.
This is Baili's wife. If she really bumps into my arms, I'll be lucky to escape with my life.
After the two retreated to a safe distance, Tantai Yueming said with a dissatisfied look.
"You really are something else. I've helped you so much, won't you invite me over for a visit?"
Lin Jiujiu crossed her arms, knowing that these two wouldn't have appeared here for no reason.
And Baili Chenyuan could very well be Xiao Tianyi, which Lin Jiujiu didn't want her parents to know.
She's living a carefree and happy life as a young widow, so there's no need for her to bring back a husband she barely knows.
Thinking this, he turned to Lin's father and the others and said, "Father, you should go back first."
Mr. Lin was still a little worried, but Mrs. Lin pulled him away.
Although Lin's mother did not recognize Xiao Tianyi, she felt that the two young men were most likely after her daughter, and might even be old acquaintances from the capital.
Now that their daughter is widowed, they don't have any better potential partners to introduce to her. If one of these two men is interested in their daughter, it might be a good thing.
Besides, it's broad daylight, and we're just saying a few words outside; it's no big deal.
Lin Jiujiu was unaware of her mother's thoughts; otherwise, she certainly wouldn't have bothered to say a single word to the two of them.
After the Lin family members had all left, Lin Jiujiu glanced at the boundary marker not far away before looking at Tantai Yueming and smiling lightly.
"Isn't the place where Your Highness is sitting right now my home?"
Tantai Yueming was speechless, unable to refute her.
Just then, Baili Chenyuan, who had remained silent until then, suddenly spoke.
"I have something to tell you."
Lin Jiujiu looked up at him; his face was incomparably handsome, and his perfect jawline was enough to captivate countless young girls in love.
But Lin Jiujiu had absolutely no liking for him.
She even withdrew the smile she had shown to Tantai Yueming, coldly replying, "I have nothing to say to you."
He then ignored the two and headed back.
Just as she turned around, Baili Chenyuan grabbed her arm from behind.
"You knew all along, didn't you?"
Although Baili Chenyuan's question was strange, all three people present knew what he meant.
After all, neither of them intervened when Lin Jiujiu was calculating with her fingers.
Lin Jiujiu did not refute his words, but instead gave him a mocking smile.
"Shouldn't the dead rest peacefully in their graves?"
Hearing her words, Baili Chenyuan understood everything. She just felt that she shouldn't have appeared and shouldn't have disturbed her current life.
This seemed to be something he had been hoping for, but for some reason he always felt a little empty inside.
It slipped out without my noticing.
"I'm not dead."
Lin Jiujiu, however, retorted without any politeness.
"You are dead."
After saying that, he turned and walked away in the direction of Lin's parents without looking back.
Baili Chenyuan stared in the direction she left, his mouth slightly agape, unsure of what to say.
Did she really wish for her own death?
Tantai Yueming glanced at Baili Chenyuan and then at Lin Jiujiu, patting her brother beside her with some sympathy.
Baili Chenyuan glared at him with some disdain, and Tantai Yueming wisely removed his claws with his other hand.
"Master, I'm sorry for what happened just now."
Just as Lin Jiujiu was about to step into the house, she heard Foreman Jiang's voice and turned around, only to see him looking at her with a nervous expression.
Lin Jiujiu raised an eyebrow at him, then said.
"What just happened has nothing to do with you. Just do your job."
Jiang, the foreman, breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing her words and quickly expressed his agreement.
"Don't worry, boss."
Lin Jiujiu waved her hand, telling them to go about their business, and then stepped into the courtyard.
Lin's father, mother, and others were all in the courtyard. Because what had just happened was so unexpected, they were still a little dazed after calming down.
At this moment, Lin's father was filled with mixed feelings, not knowing whether to be happy or sad.
When they saw Lin Jiujiu return, they all looked up at her.
Lin Jiujiu smiled as she looked at the people in the courtyard.
"Father, Mother, why are you still here? Aren't you going to the Lin family to pack your things?"
