Chapter 377: Briefing
When Shen Yanming walked back to the medical area carrying the porridge, he could feel the burning gazes from the disaster-stricken people all the way.
Well, it was stuck to the bowl of porridge in his hand.
Shen Yanming was a little skeptical, wondering if they would rush up and grab everything the next moment.
Fortunately, his worries were unnecessary. He felt a little uncomfortable being stared at along the way, but he still returned to the medical area safely.
When he arrived, Jiang Zeli had already woken up and was sitting on the head of the bed, looking listless.
"Look at you, that's enough. Why are you trying so hard? Even if Captain Li gives you a lot of rewards, you have to live to spend them!" Ye Qingxiong said politely to Jiang Ze who had just woken up.
"I, I didn't think too much about it. I just did it in a fit of rage." Jiang Zeli was a little embarrassed, and then when he saw the person at the door, his face burned as if it was on fire.
Ye Qingxiong sensed Jiang Zeli's sudden change of mood. He turned his head and saw that it was Shen Yanming. He quickly stood up and gave up his seat, saying, "He is embarrassed. Don't mind it."
Shen Yanming smiled and handed the porridge to Jiang Zeli, "Can you drink it yourself?"
"I'll feed him, I'll feed him." Ye Qingxiong said as he brought the porridge over, then sat down at the head of Jiang Zeli's bed and helped him feed the porridge.
While feeding him, he said, "Don't be embarrassed. You fainted today and it was Shen Yanming who brought you back. Otherwise, I alone wouldn't be able to move you."
Jiang Zeli finished his porridge and said weakly, "Thank you, I'm sorry to have embarrassed you."
"No, don't worry about it, have a good rest." Then he said to Ye Qingxiong: "Then you take care of him here, I'll go talk to Captain Li?"
"Okay, once he recovers, I'll go back to work." Ye Qingxiong said.
"Don't worry, take this opportunity to have a good rest." After saying that, Shen Yanming took the empty bowl, went to the doctor to get a certificate, and then went back to the restaurant to exchange his certificate.
When he returned to the ruins, he was surrounded by everyone. Shen Yanming told them about Jiang Zeli's situation and then continued to work.
Everyone sighed after hearing this, because they felt that they could become the next Jiang Zeli at any time, so they were not as dedicated in their work.
Li Gangtie was helpless and anxious to see that everyone's spirits and energy, which had been so hard to raise, had dissipated again. Seeing that everyone was slacking off, he simply waved his hand and asked them to rest for 15 minutes.
Shen Yanming walked up to Li Gangtie and asked, "Captain Li, what is the current situation with supplies? Please give us a clear picture, otherwise everyone will be confused and lose the mood to work."
Seeing that everyone was looking at him, Li Gangtie explained the food shortage of the Su City Guard. "The current food is only enough to support one week, so we have to save money again and again and ask everyone to improve work efficiency, hoping to find enough food from the ruins to balance the expenses."
Everyone then understood why they were eating less and less and their food was getting worse and worse.
After knowing this reason, everyone's mentality improved a lot, because now they were not only looking for food for others, but also for themselves, so there was no need for Li Gangtie to urge them, and everyone was more motivated to work.
"If I had known this, I would have told them the reason earlier." Li Gangtie and Zhou Qi whispered to each other.
"Well, they are reasonable. We have been hiding this from you because we are afraid of a refugee riot. It's not easy for everyone!" Zhou Qi said with a sigh.
Seeing that things were developing in a positive direction, Shen Yanming also breathed a sigh of relief.
In the afternoon, Ye Qingxiong helped Jiang Zeli back to the team. Everyone surrounded them and asked them all kinds of questions. Jiang Zeli just smiled and said, "I'm fine now, but I may have a scar in the future."
"It's okay. We are grown men, not little girls. So what if our faces are disfigured? This is a symbol of our bravery and we should be proud of it!" A man comforted Jiang Zeli.
Jiang Zeli nodded, but he had a wry smile on his face. Although he didn't care much about his appearance, who would have thought that he would have such a scar for the rest of his life, and it was caused by a faint and fall, it was too embarrassing.
When Shen Yanming saw this, he said, "Don't worry. When your wound heals, I'll give you a scar removal cream. It's very effective and can handle small wounds like this."
"Really?" Jiang Zeli couldn't believe it.
"Of course it's true. There's no benefit in lying to you." Shen Yanming shook his head and laughed.
"Okay then, thank you, Yanming!" Jiang Zeli thanked sincerely.
Shen Yanming waved his hand nonchalantly and continued to work.
At night, Shen Yanming returned with today's spoils, and then told Bi Qiaoan about the current material situation in Su City as mentioned by Li Gangtie.
"I think what he said may not be true, but one thing is certain: the situation in Su City is not optimistic."
Bi Qiaoan nodded and didn't respond. They were in such a low position that they had to rely on their own observations and other people's retellings for all the information. It was really hard to tell whether it was true or false.
After a night, it's time to continue working the next day. There's really no time to rest.
After Bi Qiaoan got up, she felt that the weather was particularly hot and humid today, so she was sweating all over before she had even walked a few steps.
She went back to the tent to change her clothes and didn't plan to go out for a walk anymore. She didn't come out of the tent until almost noon to prepare lunch.
But at this moment, the big goose, which had been lying quietly in the nest, started to scream and grabbed Bi Qiaoan's skirt and pulled her into the tent.
Bi Qiaoan was stunned. What was going on? The big goose was definitely not a playful goose!
Suddenly, she remembered a news report she had read before, which said that when danger comes, animals' perception is often much sharper than that of humans. So she did not hesitate, put down what she was holding, and hid back in the tent with the goose.
Less than two minutes later, Bi Qiaoan felt a tremor that was much more intense than the one she had experienced in Hai City. She felt that she could not hold on any longer, so she moved her mind and took the goose into the space.
Even when he was lying in the space, Bi Qiaoan felt his heart beating so violently that it was about to jump out of his chest.
Fearing that someone would come looking for her, she had to keep an eye on the outside. After about a minute had passed and she felt the shaking of the ground was not so obvious, Bi Qiaoan flashed out with the big goose.
Fortunately, she came out in time. Just as she got on the quilt, she heard the guard who usually chatted with her shouting outside the tent: "Qiao An, Qiao An, are you okay?"
"It's okay, I'm fine!" Bi Qiaoan said, calmed his breath, and walked out of the tent with the big goose.
