Chapter 963 Good Luck
The cold winter night did not allow everyone to sleep for long. Qi Xili woke up before dawn.
Shen Yanming chatted with Bi Qiaoan a little late last night, so he was still in a daze and didn't notice that many people around him had already gotten up. He lay in his sleeping bag and no one called him.
The ice hole we dug on the river yesterday had frozen over. But it wasn't thick, so it opened with a little poking. The group pulled out the net that had been soaked in the water for half a night and found that there were hundreds of fish weighing two or three pounds in it, which was more than what they had caught yesterday.
"It seems that this river has great potential!" Qi Xili said with a smile.
"But we can't salvage too hard. Otherwise, we will be blind when we come next year," Li Gangtie added.
Qi Xili nodded: "I know! Let's have someone go to the mountain to take a look later, and then we'll go back to Yunling Mountain in the afternoon."
"become!"
After Li Gangtie finished speaking, the group of people took action. The hard frozen fish was sent down the mountain as soon as possible, and when the sky was slightly bright, the aroma of roasted fish came out from the fire.
When Shen Yanming opened his eyes, he was dazzled by the dancing flames. He looked at these energetic guards and was a little confused.
"Are you awake?" a guard asked with a smile.
Chen Yanming rubbed his sleepy eyes and nodded: "You guys got up a long time ago? Why didn't you call me?"
"That's not necessary. We have so many people that we can finish the work in minutes. It won't cause any trouble even if you sleep a little longer."
Shen Yanming nodded, thinking that I was just a mascot. But the aura was not that strong.
He got up and packed his things, without washing up, and took a rest in the tent, ate a meal, and then went out. The whistling cold wind made him feel refreshed.
Shen Yanming felt a little embarrassed watching everyone busy. He took a stroll along the river and then his eyes turned to the tree holes. You know what, he really noticed something different.
Although some tree holes were snake nests, it was still a harvest. What excited him was finding two squirrel nests. The small pine nuts and hazelnuts in the nests were very plump.
"Hurry, hurry, there's something here!" he shouted excitedly.
After hearing this, Li Gangtie hurried over, and when he took a look, his eyes began to glow green.
He reached in and pulled out a handful of pine nuts. He didn't mind that they were the squirrel's food, so he broke them open and put them in his mouth.
"Oh my, but I haven't eaten these things in years. Hurry, hurry, dig them all out." Li Gangtie said as he dug into the hole and put the nuts he dug out directly into his pocket, not leaving a single one behind.
Shen Yanming thought, if you catch them all, how will people and squirrels survive? But in this situation, I can only take care of people first.
After they finished digging out one tree hole, they went to the next one.
Chen Yanming couldn't bear it, so he quietly put some nuts in it at the last moment of confirmation.
There are not many, just a dozen or so, but they are all rich in spiritual energy and relatively large in size.
He was also worried that the little squirrel didn't have enough food, so he put a handful of wheat kernels and a handful of corn kernels in the food, thinking that it would be fine. Whether it can survive or not, it's fate.
"Hey, Lao Qi, guess what Yanming found!" Li Gangtie ran back to the river, patting his bulging pockets to show his treasure.
"What?" Qi Xili asked with a smile.
Li Gangtie didn't keep the secret any longer. He took out the nuts from his pocket and waved them in front of Qi Xili: "Hey, they're crunchy. They must be good, right?"
"Indeed!" Qi Xili didn't bother to be polite with him. He grabbed it and kept half for himself and the remaining half for Qi Lin.
Li Gangtie glared at him but said nothing. He happily shared the food with everyone else.
Instead, Shen Yanming stood where he was and greeted Qi Xili's smile once again.
Comrade Lao Shen was also helpless. It seemed that he was really lucky today.
Feeling uneasy at being stared at, Shen Yanming said hello to Qi Xili and left.
Although Qi Xili wanted to stop him, he didn't stop him when he thought of Shen Yanming's good luck.
"Don't run too far!" he said.
Shen Yanming nodded: "Got it!"
Chen Yanming walked towards a place with few people nearby, and soon he saw a series of footprints on the ground.
He had seen these footprints before. They were from a sika deer, and looked like two separate leaves.
He wanted to call for help, but he felt that this place was not very remote and they should have searched it before, so he just went over there on his own.
He followed the footprints for 10 to 20 minutes and found that the footprints were getting more and more dense. He looked back and found that everyone was gone. He was a little panicked and wanted to go home.
But I was unwilling to give up. Now that I was here, I had to make sure whether there were any deer!
Shen Yanming raised his hand and looked at the time. It was 10:15, still early. In that case, let's keep going. At 11 o'clock, we'll go back.
He was not worried about his own safety. After all, he had the space to back him up and he had the confidence.
Following the footprints, Shen Yanming suddenly heard the cry of a small animal. Well, this sound is very familiar, very similar to the call of a deer in the space.
Shen Yanming quickly hid behind a tree, secretly poked his head out and looked forward. With his superb eyesight, he could see that there was a group of deer in front of him, about seven or eight, some big and some small.
What should I do now? Do it myself, or go back and call for help?
If he took action, he might not be able to catch up with them alone. And using weapons would easily cause trouble. But if he went back to call for help, the journey was too long. Even if he called for help, the herd of deer would have gone somewhere else.
After thinking about it, Shen Yanming decided that he couldn't give up. He looked around and saw no one. But for safety reasons, he reached into his backpack and took out a crossbow, a dagger, a slingshot, and a sleeping pill.
He walked forward slowly and lightly, but before he got close, he startled the deer that were foraging. They ran forward without seeing anything clearly. Shen Yanming was stunned.
He quickly stuffed the drug into the slingshot and shot forward. But the range was limited and he didn't hit the deer at all. At the end, the deer's footsteps exploded, and he didn't know if it was effective.
Shen Yanming stopped chasing immediately and fired his crossbow. His aim was still good, but of course, it couldn't compare with Qi Xili and the others.
However, after a few arrows, two deer were still shot. Looking at the blood flowing from the wound, Shen Yanming felt very distressed.
The injured deer did not stop immediately, because the wound was not in a vital part, so they continued running forward, blood dripping down, leaving a trail on the snow.
Shen Yanming ran away, following the trail of blood. When he saw the shadow of the deer, he shot another arrow at it.
The two injured deer could no longer hold on and fell to the ground, closing their eyes unwillingly.
I thought those were the two deer, but then, plop, plop, there were two more.
Shen Yanming was stunned. He walked over and found that the two deer were not injured. Looking at the medicine powder scattered not far away, he understood everything.
