Chapter 7 Grandma thinks you are not full

The next afternoon, the sun was high in the sky, and the scorching sunlight shone evenly on the earth. The air was filled with the breath of midsummer.

"Huh~" Jiang Yingxue came out of the airport in J City with her suitcase, stepped on the land of her hometown, looked up at the sky, the blue sky was clear and blue, and she felt happy looking at such a clean sky.

She hailed a taxi and went home.

"Master, do you want to go to Gaohe Village in Taoxi Town?"

"Let's go, little sister, get in the car."

J City is divided into four major districts: Beijiang, Nanjiang, Dongjiang, and Xijiang. Gaohe Village, located south of Taoxi Town in Nanjiang District, enjoys a picturesque environment, where residents live a simple, modest, and happy life.

Gaohe Village is very close to Taoxi Town, only 3 kilometers away.

Because Gaohe Village is close to the town, it does not have its own primary and middle schools. Children in the village need to go to school in the town. Jiang Yingxue attended primary and middle schools in the town.

Because of its proximity, Gaohe Village lacks its own market or commercial street. There are only one or two small shops selling daily necessities and children's snacks. Larger items or more diverse items can only be bought in the town. Villagers also like to sell their own crops in the town. Jiang Yingxue's grandmother often rides her tricycle to the town to sell fresh vegetables.

Jiang Yingxue spent her childhood in Gaohe Village and Taoxi Town.

An hour passed and the taxi slowly drove to Gaohe Village. Looking at the familiar country road, Jiang Yingxue felt mixed emotions. This place was not as good as the world of immortals in every way, but it was better than the world of immortals in every way. This was the hometown she missed so much.

"Master, please park here." Home is not far ahead.

"OK."

"Thank you, Master. Take care." Jiang Yingxue took the luggage from the trunk and waved goodbye to the master.

"You're welcome. Take care, little sister."

Jiang Yingxue was pulling her suitcase towards home, the sound of cicadas chirping incessantly filled her ears. Suddenly, a look of joy filled her eyes. It turned out that her grandma and grandpa were already waiting for her at the door.

Looking at the kind faces of the old couple, Jiang Yingxue's eyes instantly became moist. The person she had missed for many years finally appeared in front of her. She could see and touch him, and her excitement was beyond words.

"Grandma! Grandpa!" She ran with her suitcase and stopped in front of the old couple. She opened her arms and hugged them tightly in turn. At an angle where no one could see, she shed some tears.

Only after coming into contact with real and warm relatives did Jiang Yingxue truly feel that she had returned home, and the boat of her heart that had been drifting for a thousand years had finally reached the shore.

"Hey, you've lost weight," Grandma Lu Caiyun took her granddaughter's hand and walked into the yard, "You must be starving after sitting in the car for such a long time. Grandma made your favorite spicy and sour chicken offal and taro pork. Come and try them." She didn't expect there would be meals on the plane.

"Yes, man is iron and food is steel. Yingxue, go and eat quickly." Grandpa Jiang Xianzheng took the suitcase from his granddaughter and carried it himself.

The Jiang family's three-story, self-built house is surrounded by a large courtyard. There are two small rooms in the front yard: one houses a wood-burning stove, and the other houses a storage area for farm tools. Each floor of the three-story house has three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom, each with its own private toilet. The Jiang family's previous home was a bungalow, and this large house was rebuilt when Jiang Mingzhu was pregnant with Jiang Yingxue.

The land in the countryside is large and the houses are large, so living there is much more comfortable than commercial housing in the city.

After washing her hands, Jiang Yingxue sat down in the first-floor dining room to enjoy her meal. On the table were dishes like hot and sour chicken giblets, taro braised pork, blanched choy sum, and pork rib soup. These home-cooked meals were all her favorites. Because they were all made by her family, she enjoyed them even though they lacked spiritual energy.

As soon as she finished one bowl, Lu Caiyun came over to take her bowl and went to the kitchen to get some rice. As she walked, she said, "Eat more. Grandma will give you another bowl of rice."

"Grandma, I'm full and don't want more." The first bowl of rice that Jiang Yingxue ate was also packed by Lu Caiyun. The rice was packed solid, and she was really full.

Hearing this, Lu Caiyun put down the spoon and looked at her suspiciously, "Are you really full? Is this all you have?"

Jiang Yingxue nodded, "Really."

Lu Caiyun turned around and poured her a bowl of soup. "If you don't want to eat, then drink the soup. It's not okay to eat so little."

Today, Jiang Yingxue couldn't refuse her grandmother's love for food, so she had to drink up the bowl of soup.

After eating and drinking, it’s time to rest.

Jiang Yingxue's room was on the second floor. She returned to her room, opened the window, and looked down. It was the backyard of the house. It was only half cultivated, with some cauliflower and cucumbers planted there.

Her eyes fell on the remaining half of the land that had not been cultivated. The land could not be wasted, so what should she plant?

Grandma and Grandpa had already grown their own fruits and vegetables. She released her spiritual consciousness, which landed on her own fields in the village. She could clearly see that one field was planted with rice, and another was planted with corn.

If you want the crops grown in the fields to be more delicious, you can work on the soil. She has spiritual soil and spiritual spring water in her space, so increasing the nutrients in the soil is not difficult.

The family grows rice, corn, cucumbers, etc., and Jiang Yingxue thought of rice balls. Her grandmother often goes to the vegetable market in the small town to sell vegetables, so it is a feasible idea for her to follow her and sell rice balls.

That night, Jiang Yingxue told her grandparents about this idea.

They were very surprised. After all, Jiang Yingxue's last job was as a white-collar worker in an office, and now she wanted to set up a stall, which was a bit of a big step.

Jiang Xianzheng stroked his beard and did not clearly express whether he agreed or disagreed. Instead, he asked his granddaughter to rest at home for a while before considering other things.

"Yingxue, think about this carefully. Selling rice balls is no easier than sitting in an office. Of course, it's a good thing for young people to have ideas, but look at yourself. You're like a bamboo pole. Let alone setting up a stall, I wouldn't dare let you go out even if the wind is blowing."

Lu Caiyun looked at her granddaughter's frail figure, her eyes flashing with pity. She felt heartbroken the first time she saw her granddaughter yesterday. With her tiny arms and legs, it was obvious she must have suffered a lot outside. She felt so distressed seeing her.

She was delighted to learn that her granddaughter wanted to stay in her hometown to develop her career. She supported all jobs, regardless of their status. However, she had a condition: "Yingxue, listen to your grandfather. If you want to sell rice balls, we'll sell them. Grandma supports you. But the prerequisite is that you have to be healthy. Look at you now, you're so thin that a gust of wind can blow you away. You should take care of yourself at home first. There's no rush to sell rice balls. Your health is the most important thing right now. Don't let your body get so thin that you can't even lift a rice ball."
