Chapter 17 Going to the Market
After fishing for several days in a row, it was finally time to go to the market.
Ying Yuanxing went to the village chief in advance to find out the opening time of the market and the time it would take to get to the market from Taoxi Village, and planned the time to go out and the time to leave.
The market is still some distance away from Taoxi Village. Fortunately, you can take some public transportation, otherwise you can only walk there. Even with a backpack to pack fish, the journey is still difficult and even more dangerous.
Before dawn, Ying Yuanxing was awakened by the alarm clock. He quickly got up to feed the fish for the last time. After finishing the farm work in the dark, Ying Yuanxing began to pack the fish.
Ying Yuanxing selected the largest number of fish of the same kind and stuffed them into his backpack. As for the remaining scattered fish of other species, there were not many of them, so he kept them in the pond for the time being and would continue to sell them when the number increased.
As for the five bully fish, Ying Yuanxing thought about it, fished out all the fish and put them in a bag on the side. He was going to see if the fish could survive without water. If they could, then he would save a space in his backpack.
If possible, Ying Yuanxing actually wanted to wait until he caught a few more bully fish and then sell them all at once. However, he had caught a lot of other species of fish in the past few days, but had not caught any bully fish, so he decided not to wait any longer.
The most important thing is that Ying Yuanxing found that the fish in the water tank did not seem to be very active. He didn't know whether it was because it was not used to the grass. He was worried that the fish would die if he continued to raise it.
After waiting for a while, he found that the condition of several fish was unexpectedly good. Ying Yuanxing put the fish directly into bags, then carried two empty bags, hung a sickle on the left and an axe on the right, and then went out with the fishing rod slung over his shoulder.
The village chief had known that Ying Yuanxing was going out, so he was waiting at the door. From a distance, he saw Ying Yuanxing coming over, carrying a heavy load and rummaging through a trash can.
Even though it was not the first time that the village chief saw Ying Yuanxing like this, every time he saw it, he vaguely felt a black screen in front of his eyes.
What he couldn't understand the most was that Ying Yuanxing seemed to know that he didn't like it, and would avoid him when rummaging through the trash can, but he would just stay a little further away from him, thinking that he shouldn't be able to see it, and then continue to rummage through the trash can very naturally.
The village chief could say that although the other monsters had not yet come into contact with Ying Yuanxing, they were extremely familiar with Ying Yuanxing’s behavior, and even knew the pattern of when he would appear.
"Village chief!" Ying Yuanxing greeted the village chief enthusiastically when he saw him.
"You are going to sell fish." The village chief nodded in response, and then saw that the bag in Ying Yuanxing's hand was surrounded by a strange aura. It should be filled with all the big and small strange things of the Yu family, and it was hard for them to tolerate it.
Ying Yuanxing nodded: "Village Chief, when do we set off?"
It was Ying Yuanxing’s first time out of the village and he was not familiar with the road. The village chief also happened to be going to the market, so Ying Yuanxing followed him.
"I'll go get the money and leave right away." The village chief glanced at the familiar strange aura in the bag and confirmed the movements of the Yu family. He went back to the house and sent a message to Boss Yu, asking him to go to the market and wait for them, and then went out with Ying Yuanxing.
After walking to the platform, not long after, a shabby bus that looked like it was scrapped floated over from a distance. When you got closer, you could even hear the noise of parts, making you wonder if it would fall apart if you sat on it.
"Let's go up." The village chief said, and walked up first.
Ying Yuanxing got on the car, holding the fish bag in one hand and holding down the raised axe with the other.
The village chief stuffed a coin into the ticket machine. Ying Yuanxing saw clearly that it was a dollar. He put down the bag of fish in his hand. The bag was obviously not very heavy, but when he put it down, the bottom of the car seemed to be unable to bear the weight and made a creaking sound.
Ying Yuanxing quickly picked up the bag and found that the iron sheet under the car seemed to be dented by the bag.
Isn't it so fragile? Ying Yuanxing suddenly felt unsafe under his feet, afraid that if he stepped a little harder, he would make a hole in the car, even though the iron sheet looked fine.
Ying Yuanxing wanted to ask the village chief if he could change the car, but the village chief had already paid the money and sat down, so it would be troublesome if he asked to change the car.
Forget it, just sit on it. Since the village chief can ride in this car, it shouldn't be as dangerous as he imagined, Ying Yuanxing comforted himself, took out a coin and put it into the ticket machine, looked left and right, and chose to sit behind the driver.
He was still a little worried about the quality of the bus. It was hard to say about other places, but the driver always had to consider his own safety while driving. So it should be safe here a little bit behind.
After waiting for a while, Ying Yuanxing found that the bus had not started yet, and the driver seemed to be looking back at him. This look...
Ying Yuanxing was sitting right behind the driver's seat and thought the driver turned around to look at him, but he didn't know that the other person actually turned his head 180 degrees and literally looked back at him.
"Village chief, what's wrong?" Ying Yuanxing was confused by the look on his face and could only ask people he knew.
The village chief looked at the bag that Ying Yuanxing was carrying, and then at Ying Yuanxing's sincere expression. He suspected very much that Ying Yuanxing just didn't want to pay more money. He paid one dollar for each payment. He paid his own money, but Ying Yuanxing had to pay the Yu family's.
The village chief wanted to pretend that he didn't understand, but Boss Yu had already left, and he couldn't delay too long, otherwise it would be difficult to get the money, so he had to stand up and pay another five yuan.
The driver started the car in silence.
Ying Yuanxing then realized that he had not paid enough money. However, the bus fare for these fish was actually more than his. The freight was too high. Isn't the only difference between this and robbery is that the amount is smaller?
Ying Yuanxing felt a pang of pain in his heart, but he was too embarrassed to ask the village chief to pay him, so he took out five yuan and handed it to the village chief.
The village chief didn't expect Ying Yuanxing to actually give him the money. He was extremely surprised and didn't dare to be polite to Ying Yuanxing. After all, he had been polite to Ying Yuanxing before and Ying Yuanxing took it seriously. He quickly took the five dollars back.
Ying Yuanxing was sad about the extra five dollars he paid, but he didn't notice that he had passed several stations in a row. There were clearly people on the platform waving to the driver to stop, but the driver didn't stop at any of the stations and drove forward at a high speed. The creaking sound from the car body was much louder than before.
After finally arriving at the platform where the market was located, the driver almost couldn't wait to open the door and motioned for them to get off.
Ying Yuanxing got out of the car carrying the bag of fish, quickly closed the door, and ran away. However, the car could not speed up. It was like a tired mule, moving forward slowly step by step.
Ying Yuanxing didn't know that the driver was actually the bus driver, and riding the bus was just like riding a horse. Generally, the strange abilities of people riding this kind of bus would not be too strong. After all, there are many different kinds of powerful strange ways of traveling.
He brought five monsters from the Yu family on the bus. Three small ones would have been fine, but the two big ones were so heavy that they almost crushed the bus.
If the driver had not been afraid of the Yu family's strange aura, the bad reputation of Taoxi Village, and the village chief's prompt payment, he would have been almost kicked out of the car just now.
