"Ruth is willing!"
Without hesitation, the little fairy nodded in delight.
"but--"
Xu Ling paused after saying two words, looking at the little vixen.
This made Ruth's heart tighten again, thinking that Xu Ling wanted to back out.
She asked urgently, "But what?"
"But you can't call me a god."
"Why?"
Ruth was puzzled and tilted her head to look at Xu Ling, her eyes conveying the message, "A god is a god, why can't we call him that?"
Although Xu Ling was a true deity, she felt somewhat ashamed that the little demon kept calling her a god so devoutly.
It's best to keep this to yourself; there's no need to shout it out.
So instead of giving a direct answer, she suggested changing how she was addressed.
"My name is Xu Ling, how about you call me Lingling?"
That's what the Tree of Life calls her, and she doesn't seem to mind the name.
Xu Ling looked at the little fairy with expectant eyes.
To everyone's surprise, she shook her head and refused: "No, that's disrespectful to the gods!"
Xu Ling was speechless for a moment: "Is...is that so?"
She racked her brains trying to think of any other way to address Ruth that she could accept.
Fortunately, before Xu Ling could come up with a solution, Kaopu provided a helpful reason.
"Little imp, do you know that the only god left is the God of Light?"
Ruth nodded. Of course she knew that. That voice had told her many things, some of which she remembered, and some she had forgotten.
For example, she knew she was a little fairy, knew she had to live in a lush, green place, and knew she couldn't survive in the barren land she was born in, so she had to leave this desolate place and find a new habitat.
Of course, she also knew that all the gods had fallen, leaving only the God of Light. Therefore, when she encountered Xu Ling, this wild god, she wanted to follow her to the death.
"Is it to protect the gods?"
Ruth cautiously guessed that Reliable's sudden mention of the God of Light must have some other meaning.
A discerning and approving gaze fell upon Ruth, who seemed to have potential.
"You're very clever, indeed. Now, besides the God of Light, there's another deity. What do you think would happen if others found out about this?"
Ruth suddenly realized: "Yes, you are right. Ruth should indeed keep the secret and should not openly call upon the gods."
"God, may Ruth call you Master?"
Calling her "master" wouldn't be disrespectful. Besides, the little fairy also has her own selfish reasons. Calling her "master" signifies a master-servant relationship, making it perfectly legitimate for her to stay by Xu Ling's side.
Xu Ling was a little stunned after hearing Ruth's reliable words. She nodded blankly in agreement with Ruth calling her that, but in fact she didn't hear what Ruth said at all.
At this moment, she thought it looked reliable, but all she could think was, "I never expected this AI system to be so good at fooling people!"
To be honest, she didn't expect that Ruth, this little devil, would have the same brain frequency as Kaopu!
Because from beginning to end, she felt that what seemed reliable was just nonsense, and the mention of the God of Light was just something he said casually!
Look at the way she looks at Reliable, doesn't that say it all?
His eyes held a mixture of smugness and undisguised contempt.
It was proud that it had persuaded the little fairy so easily; it was contemptuous that it looked down on Xu Ling for speaking to the little fairy in a hesitant and stammering manner, which was not at all like when she was in front of it, and that it had no effect whatsoever!
Of course, the reliable system, which considers itself a classy one, generously forgave Xu Ling's double standards.
He even kindly reminded Xu Ling, "Don't forget your mission. Didn't you need to build a granary?"
yes!
Xu Ling then remembered the task she had just been doing.
I was so engrossed in the little fairy that I forgot she was working on the food storage in the first place.
She turned to look at the farmland, and sure enough, the wheat was ripe and waiting for Xu Ling to harvest it.
Ruth also looked at the farmland, where the wheat had turned golden yellow, clearly indicating that it was harvest season. The heavy ears of wheat bent over, showing that the fields were laden with fruit.
Ruth's spirits soared; she loved this feeling of accomplishment!
Ruth flapped her elytra and flew to Xu Ling's side, volunteering, "Master, could you let Ruth do it? Ruth can definitely do a good job!"
Xu Ling paused in her tapping of the screen, slapped her forehead, and looked annoyed. She had almost forgotten that Ruth was still there.
Xu Ling glanced at Ruth's expression out of the corner of her eye, wondering if Ruth had noticed the data screens of the other people in front of her.
Ruth was startled by her sudden action and was puzzled as to why Xu Ling was suddenly hitting herself.
"Master, what's wrong?"
Xu Ling quietly manipulated the screen with her hand, tapping on the recently disabled "Heartbeat" feature, and secretly wondered if it was reliable.
[Is this reliable? Will Ruth be able to see this data screen?]
She had just started typing and didn't see anything unusual about the little imp. Instead, she looked worried about why the imp had hit her earlier.
I feel like I've been fooled by Xu Ling's stupidity again. Didn't she see the little devil and not even notice?
At most, in the little fairy's eyes, Xu Ling was just acting crazy and randomly clicking on thin air.
So it replied rather irritably.
[Of course you can't see it! I'm linked to you; only you and I can see it. Nobody else can! What else do you want? If not, turn it off! I don't want to hear your random thoughts later!]
Xu Ling actually has another question.
"So, Ruth wanted to help earlier, could she help me with the farming?"
Reliable: [Of course you can! But are you sure you want her to harvest now? You can harvest with one click.]
Kaopu looked at the tiny little fairy in front of him, then sized Xu Ling up and down.
It never expected that this host would be such a heartless capitalist, exploiting so many employees!
Kaopu shook its head, feeling that it had seriously underestimated Xu Ling!
Look at the size of this little devil, and look at that farmland. If this little devil really came to harvest, it would take a whole day. It's nothing compared to Xu Ling's one-click operation!
The reliable look in his eyes was so blatant that Xu Ling was speechless.
She was just asking a normal question, so why did KaoPu come up with such a bizarre idea?
It's still that unreliable system after all!
With that in mind, Xu Ling decisively activated the function to block out inner thoughts again.
