The rain that had been falling all night finally stopped before dawn.
The air was thick with moisture, and the temperature was noticeably lower than usual after the rain. Many raindrops still clung precariously to the tips of the leaves, hesitant to fall.
Fortunately, the sun soon came out, and although it was already late autumn, the rising heat was still enough to dry the water droplets.
The weather was sunny, and the air after the rain was especially refreshing.
Despite sleeping in an unfamiliar place, Xu Ling slept soundly through the night and woke up not too late. However, when she stepped out of her room, she found that the church staff had already started working.

I don't know if they were still asleep or if they were actually eating in a different place than the others.

As Sersi's gaze turned toward the direction from which the restaurant had been entered, the others noticed the unusual looks and followed her.
Upon realizing it was Assistant Professor Alger, the group immediately swallowed the food in their mouths, stood up in a panic, and called out, "Assistant Professor Alger!"
Seeing that everyone had noticed him, Alger stopped walking and immediately put on that perfect smile again. "Everyone's here! Since everyone's here, I don't need to notify everyone individually!"
His words were spoken without any inflection or emotion, but they still sounded eerie to Xu Ling and the others.
However, no one spoke up at this moment, and they just waited for Alger to continue.
"Lord Miller means we'll need to stay here a few more days. Oh, right, there's one more thing..."
Before he could finish speaking, he looked down and took out his pocket watch to check the time. "In twenty minutes, Lord Miller and I will be waiting for you at the main entrance of the church. So—" He looked up, drawing out the last syllable meaningfully, "please be on time."

After saying this, Alger left the restaurant as he had come.

Without a second thought, April replied, "Assistant Alger's 'great achievements'!"
What "great achievements"? She didn't know!
Xu Ling shook her head honestly.
"Okay!" April really didn't expect that Xu Ling, after attending classes for so long, would know nothing!
Seeing this, she decided to give Xu Ling a proper lesson, even though she didn't know much.
However, before she could figure out how to start, Cersei quickly chimed in, "To make a long story short, Lingling, you need to eat more now, or you'll really go hungry later!"
As she spoke, she swiftly grabbed the bread from the table and stuffed it into Xu Ling's mouth.
Time waits for no one! Instead of wasting time on science education now, we'd be better off eating more so we don't go hungry later!
Before Xu Ling could react, the bread was already in her mouth. She had no choice but to open her mouth and bite the bread.
"I'm not lying to you, eat up!" Seeing that Xu Ling was just holding the bread in her mouth without eating, Cersei couldn't help but urge her again.
Fearing that this bread would suffer the same fate as the last, Cersei stared intently at Xu Ling, determined to watch her eat it herself.
