Everyone looked at each other, hesitant and unwilling to be the first to step forward.
"I can't stand it!"
Finally, it was the alcoholic old Paul who let out a loud roar and rushed into old John's brewery.
Everyone watched as old Paul rushed in, but no one dared to make a move.
They looked around for a moment, but heard no sound from the distillery.
Just as everyone was getting impatient, a swaying figure emerged from the distillery.
It was none other than old Paul.
He swayed back and forth, muttering, "Good wine, good, hiccup, wine, I want more!"
With a loud burp, old Paul smiled contentedly. He didn't even notice the neighbors surrounding him. He waved and pushed aside the people crowding in front of him, then staggered toward his house.
Old John, panting, ran to the door, put his hands on his knees, took a deep breath, and shouted at Old Paul's retreating figure, "Little one, watch out!"
Old Paul waved his hand dismissively.
Everyone stared in disbelief, and the two men who had been pushed away smelled the strong odor of alcohol on Old Paul.
One of them muttered to himself, "Is he drunk?"
You know, Paul Sr. has a really high alcohol tolerance. How much must he have drunk to get to this point?
But that doesn't make sense either. He doesn't seem drunk. At least Old Paul knows how to get home.
The next second, everyone was slapped in the face.
Old Paul in front of him fell flat on his face with a loud thud, showing how much it hurt. However, he didn't care about the pain at all, and just lay down on the ground and started singing at the top of his lungs.
"My dearest blonde, I miss you terribly..."
The wailing and howling were completely off-key, a true torture for everyone's spirits!
It was obvious that Paul was completely drunk!
"Oh dear," Old John slapped his thigh, "he's drunk after just one drink! Quick, help him up!"
No one responded, letting old Paul lie on the ground and continue singing.
What did they hear?
Only one cup?!
"Hurry and help him up!"
Seeing that no one was moved, Old John couldn't help but urge them on.
The next moment, everyone moved quickly, but unfortunately no one went to look at old Paul; instead, they surrounded old John in circles.
"What are you doing?!"
Old John became alert, looking at the circles of people, and thought to himself that something was wrong!
Could they be plotting against him?!
He didn't do anything. Old Paul just wanted to try it, so he gave him a glass of wine. Who knew Old Paul had such a low alcohol tolerance? Just one glass and he was drunk and rushed out.
Old John's mind was in turmoil, but he was taken aback the next moment.
It was all because someone blurted out, "Boss, does Paul still have any left?"
The man pointed to the person lying on the ground, indicating that the Paul he was referring to was him.
Yes, yes.
Immediately, the eyes of the people around lit up, and they all started talking at once: "Boss, sell me some, how much?"
Soon, old John was overwhelmed by people asking to sell him wine.
Nobody cared about old Paul, who was lying on the ground, oblivious to everything.
From that day on, Old John's Distillery became famous, and anyone with a little money would go to Old John's to buy some to try.
The "explorers" were mostly a group of hot-blooded, uninhibited men. After tasting Old John's wine, they could no longer appreciate the wines from other wineries, and they basically ordered all their wines from Old John.
Therefore, after Annika's wail, the surroundings fell silent.
Everyone was puzzled.
What does that mean? Does it mean this wine will no longer be available?
"Annika! What did you mean by that?"
Some impatient explorers hurriedly asked in loud voices.
"Get out of my way, this is none of your business!"
Annika waved her hand dismissively at the inquiring explorer; she had no time to explain.
“Old John, what am I going to do now that you’re gone? I’m going to have to give up drinking altogether without your wine.”
Annika begged Old John and his family for forgiveness, hoping they would reconsider their actions.
Once anyone has tasted Old John's wine, other wines just don't taste right.
Unfortunately, both old John and Ella smiled but remained silent.
Seeing this, Annika knew that the two had made up their minds and there was no way to persuade them otherwise.
She sighed and asked, "Okay, where are you planning to go?"
“Annika, Ella and I want to go to Hope City.”
Annika frowned: "What are you doing there?"
Despite its appealing name, Hope City is located in a desolate area. Apart from the indigenous people and explorers, it is rarely heard of ordinary people traveling thousands of miles to visit it.
That place is nothing like East; sometimes we don't even have enough to eat!
"Shall we go find someone?"
Anika was somewhat surprised by this answer.
"Looking for someone? Who are you looking for?"
Old John and Ella exchanged a glance and said, "Our daughter."
“We received a message from distant relatives saying that they saw our daughter near Hope City, so we want to go and look for her.”
At this point, old John's voice lowered: "This is our only daughter, and we want to go and look for her."
Annika then learned that old John and Ella had a daughter who had been separated from them years ago.
That was their only daughter. After that, the two began a desperate search, traveling through countless cities, only to stop briefly each time.
Until I heard the news that a girl with black hair and black eyes had been seen in East.
Yes, John and Ella's daughter looks quite like them, inheriting their dark hair and dark eyes, making her very easy to recognize.
So, twenty years ago, the two of them arrived in East with all their belongings.
They came to East and searched desperately, but to no avail. After that, there was no further information about their daughter.
But old John and his wife dared not leave East, so they opened a winery, selling wine while searching for their daughter.
Decades have passed, and they were about to give up when they unexpectedly received a message from a relative.
My daughter is in Hope City!
At this moment, the two were overjoyed and, as before, decided to set off for Hope City to search for it.
