Chapter 31 Fainting

"Miss Sissi."

Benson's sudden voice startled Ye Xi. Her attention had been completely focused on Aaron, and she hadn't noticed that there was another person there. This made her a little flustered, and she took a few steps back, almost stepping on her skirt.

Upon seeing this, Aaron's eyes flashed with daggers as he looked at Benson, very displeased that he had suddenly spoken and frightened his sister.

Benson hadn't expected this either, and was quite helpless. He bowed slightly, but still intended to continue speaking.

“Miss Sissi, you may be unfamiliar with everything now that you have just recovered, but please believe me,” Benson gestured to Aaron, and seeing that Ye Xi noticed, he continued, “Aaron Sanchez is your brother, and you are Sissi Sanchez, his sister.”

Ye Xi remained calm, but she gleaned from Benson's words that something was amiss with this Sisi Sanchez.

Ye Xi was initially worried that her strange behavior would lead people to discover that she wasn't herself, but now it seems she doesn't need to worry.

Ye Xi breathed a sigh of relief, but stared at the two of them without saying a word.

"Miss Sissi, this is for you."

Knowing that Ye Xi wouldn't believe him, Benson threw what he was holding to Ye Xi.

Ye Xi took it and saw that it was a mirror. It was a silver mirror with an unidentified plant carved on the back. The plant had intertwined branches and leaves, and a flower bud at the tip of a branch. To highlight the flower bud, it seemed to be inlaid with rubies, making the flower bud different from the branches and leaves, and giving it a bright and beautiful appearance.

Ye Xi couldn't help but touch it with her hand, and had to admit that the workmanship was exquisite.

She turned it over so that the mirror side was facing her. She didn't know what material the other side of the mirror was made of, but it reflected her very clearly, showing almost every detail.

Ye Xi stared blankly at the reflection in the mirror. Although she was mentally prepared that she had transmigrated, the unfamiliar appearance in the mirror still made her feel somewhat uncomfortable.

This was a girl who looked to be only seventeen or eighteen years old. She had long, golden hair with slight curls, fair and full skin, and a pair of slightly alluring violet eyes that curiously gazed at the mirror. She had a face with Western ancestry, completely different from Ye Xi.

Benson breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Ye Xi carefully examining herself in the mirror, and then suggested, "Perhaps you could take a look at what your brother looks like."

Upon hearing this, Ye Xi looked up at Aaron. Their long, golden hair was identical, and their violet eyes were almost identical; the two were undeniably similar. She looked down at herself in the mirror, then back up at Aaron, and had to admit they shared a five or six-point resemblance.

Ye Xi began to slowly believe what Aaron and Benson had just said—that the two might really be siblings.

Seeing that Ye Xi was no longer as wary as before, Aaron breathed a sigh of relief and slowly approached her.

"Sisi, I really am your brother. You're back to normal now, and I'm so happy for you. Why don't you go home and tell Mom and Dad? They'll be so happy too!"

Aaron approached step by step, but this time, Ye Xi did not move.

Aaron slowly took Ye Xi's hand, but Ye Xi did not react. Aaron finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Ye Xi wasn't unwilling to react; she simply realized that this was a strange world, and that she knew nothing about it.

Even if she wanted to do something, what could she possibly do?

Perhaps whatever she does will arouse suspicion because it is out of step with the crowd.

After thinking it over, Ye Xi didn't refuse Aaron's advances.

After all, as things stand now, this nominal older brother always looks at her with concern and hasn't forced her to do anything against her resistance, making him the best choice for her current situation.

If anything goes wrong later, at least she can learn something about this world during this time, and then she can act accordingly.

After figuring it out, Ye Xi watched Aaron's every move without resisting.

She saw Aaron holding her hand with a joyful expression, calling her "sister" with indescribable excitement.

Unconsciously, Ye Xi recalled the incredulous reaction of the four girls when she had just spoken.

The four girls looked as if they had seen a ghost when she spoke.

Before him stood Aaron, his expression one of barely concealed excitement, and a sense of unease began to creep into Ye Xi's mind.

Why did they react so strongly to her?

Aaron's words suddenly flashed through her mind.

Ye Xi frowned, finally realizing that the girl she had transmigrated into was somewhat strange.

From the beginning, Aaron's wariness towards her only showed hurt and discomfort, completely lacking the strangeness and confusion he felt after his sister's attitude towards him changed. Moreover, Aaron seemed to have a hint of ecstatic joy hidden beneath his attitude towards her.

Could she then guess that Aaron's sister, Sissi Sanchez, is very, very abnormal, so that Ye Xi's normal human reaction prevents Aaron from thinking "this is not my sister," but rather "my sister has returned to normal"?

If her guess is true, then following Aaron is actually the safest option.

So here's the question: just how abnormal is Sissi Sanchez? And, can she speak? Does she have any preferences for anything? Does she remember her parents?

A string of questions kept popping into his mind, but Ye Xi couldn't answer any of them.

She has absolutely no memory of Sissi Sanchez now. Is it because Sissi Sanchez was always like this, or is it that Ye Xi never received Sissi Sanchez's memories at all?

She didn't know if she was thinking too much, but she felt the nerves in her forehead twitching intermittently, and a headache followed.

The headache grew stronger and stronger, and she couldn't help but furrow her brows, put her hand on her forehead, and rub it a few times, trying to relieve the annoying pain.

"Sisi, are you alright?"

Having just recovered, Aaron was clearly keeping a close eye on her every move, afraid that something might happen to her. Seeing her suddenly rub her forehead in discomfort, Aaron quickly reached out and placed his hand on Ye Xi's forehead, trying to ease her pain.

"Does it still hurt?"

A cool sensation came from the spot she touched. Ye Xi didn't see the faint light emanating from Aaron's palm, but she clearly felt her headache was relieved.

Ye Xi's tightly furrowed brows relaxed, and she nodded. Just as she was about to say a few words, a sudden, intense headache struck her head, as if a sledgehammer had hit the back of her head.

"ah!"

She only had time to utter a cry of surprise before Ye Xi's vision went black and she lost consciousness.

Everything happened so suddenly that Aaron watched helplessly as Ye Xi fainted, only managing to catch her in his arms to prevent her from falling to the ground.

"Sissi, Sissi!"

Aaron shook Ye Xi in his arms while shouting, trying to wake her up.

Unfortunately, Ye Xi kept her eyes tightly closed and showed no reaction. Only her furrowed brows revealed that even though she had fainted, she was in great pain.

Aaron was terrified. He had just been feeling that Sisi had recovered, but the next second he saw her faint and unconscious in front of him. This left him somewhat at a loss and unsure of what to do.

At that moment, Aaron had only one thought in his mind: to wake his sister up first!

Fortunately, Benson, who was still rational, was nearby. He reached out to stop Aaron from shaking Ye Xi violently.

He suspected that if things continued like this, even if Sisi Sanchez herself was fine, something might happen to her later!
