Chapter 55 Daily Life (2)

"Don't worry, it won't happen again." Song Tingzhi promised.

"I'll trust you just one last time." Jiang Cheng kept moving his hands until the medicinal oil was completely absorbed. "Alright, just lie here like this tonight!"

Jiang Cheng patted Song Tingzhi's back, then washed his hands with water, put the hot water bottle at Song Tingzhi's feet, and covered him with a blanket.

"You really scared me to death today. Luckily, we don't have to go up the mountain for a while." Jiang Cheng sat next to Song Tingzhi. "When spring comes next year, let's find a job to do! I feel uneasy when you always go up the mountain."

"Okay, I'll do whatever you say." Song Tingzhi held Jiang Cheng's hand, "But can I have a small favor?"

"you say."

"Could you please bring your family to the mountains to escape the heat in the summer?" Song Tingzhi said, "I'll renovate the house in the mountains in the spring, and we can go there to escape the heat when the weather gets hot."

"These are all easy to talk about. As long as you are safe and sound, everything is fine." Jiang Cheng originally thought it was something important, but when he heard it was about escaping the summer heat, he naturally agreed.

Jiang Cheng took off his coat and lay down next to Song Tingzhi. "Go to sleep. We'll see a doctor tomorrow."

After saying that, Jiang Cheng leaned on Song Tingzhi's shoulder, closed his eyes and fell asleep.

"Mom, Tingzhi and I are going to town." Jiang Cheng said to Xu Sanniang after finishing his meal, "If there's anything missing at home, tell us. We'll prepare it today and have a good New Year's celebration in a while."

"Why did you suddenly remember to go to town?" Xu Sanniang asked curiously.

"Tingzhi accidentally injured his shoulder in the mountains yesterday. I massaged him with medicated oil last night, but I'm still worried. I'm taking him to the doctor today," Jiang Cheng said. "And I'll get some more medicine for Dad."

"How did he get injured when he was fine?" Xu Sanniang became anxious when she heard what Jiang Cheng said. She walked to Song Tingzhi and looked at him again and again.

"It's just a minor injury, it's okay." Song Tingzhi looked at his mother circling around him, feeling a little dizzy, and hurriedly comforted her.

"Okay, go and have a look." Xu Sanniang looked at Song Tingzhi, who was full of energy and couldn't tell anything. "It's a good time to go to town today to buy some fireworks and firecrackers. We can set them off on New Year's Eve."

"Okay, then let's go." Jiang Cheng nodded in agreement.

Then Song Tingzhi pulled the donkey cart out, Jiang Cheng sat in the back and waved to Xu Sanniang.

"Go slowly on the road." Xu Sanniang took a thick cloak and wrapped it around Jiang Cheng, and advised him.

It was cold and the roads were slippery, so the donkey cart took over an hour to reach the town. The cold wind on the road made their faces hurt.

When they arrived in the town, Song Tingzhi first found a small teahouse and took Jiang Cheng in to have some tea to warm her up before going to the clinic.

"Doctor, please help me take a look at my husband's shoulder." When they arrived at the clinic, Jiang Cheng asked Song Tingzhi to sit down and explained his purpose to the doctor.

"It's okay, just a strain." The doctor glanced at Song Tingzhi's shoulder and said, "Don't do heavy work in the next few days. Rub the strained area with medicated oil every day, and it will be healed in a few days."

"Thank you, doctor." Song Tingzhi thanked him, "Please also help check my husband's health. He didn't take good care of himself at home in the past few years, and he has only recently improved. Please help check how he is now?"

"You're still a little weak, but much better than the last time you came. Just take another course of medicine and it won't be a problem to get well!" The doctor put his hand on Jiang Cheng's wrist and looked at his tongue again.

"I'll prescribe him some more medicine. He'll be almost done after he takes it." The doctor picked up a pen and began to write a prescription. "It's been cold lately, so remember not to indulge in the cold."

"Thank you." Jiang Cheng and Song Tingzhi thanked the doctor, got the prescription and went to the counter to get the medicine.

I also got some medicine for Song Tao to take back.

After getting the medicine, the two paid the doctor and said goodbye before going to the fireworks shop to buy something.

"We have some money now. We can buy a shop in town and start a small business. You won't have to go up the mountain so hard."

Jiang Cheng and Song Tingzhi were walking on the road. Jiang Cheng pointed at the shops on the roadside and looked forward to the future.

"Once we save up some more money, it should be enough." Song Tingzhi agreed, "We can buy a small one first, open a shop in the front, and have a small yard in the back for us to live in."

"When life gets better, we'll move to a bigger yard, bring our parents, Xiaoyu and Xiaoqian over, and we'll live together as a family." Jiang Cheng said, holding Song Tingzhi's arm.

"Okay, for your husband's wish, I have to work harder!" Song Tingzhi teased.

While they were talking, the two arrived at the fireworks shop. Song Tingzhi bought some toys that children liked, paid for them, and took Jiang Cheng back home.

"Squeak--" Song Tingzhi was driving the donkey cart and suddenly stopped in the middle of the road.

"What's wrong?" Jiang Cheng asked, sitting in the back, covered tightly and unable to see what was happening in front.

"It's okay, there's a wolf lying on the ground blocking the way." Song Tingzhi said to Jiang Cheng, looking at the wolf's corpse covered by snow in front of him.

"What?" Jiang Cheng was startled when he heard it. He got out of the car, stood next to Song Tingzhi, and looked at the wolf covered by the snow.

"Why are there wolves here?"

It was so cold that the wolves should have spent the winter in the mountains and would never appear in the middle of the road.

Song Tingzhi walked over to the wolf and squatted down to examine the marks on its body. "It might have been chased here by a hunter."

Song Tingzhi pointed at the arrow wound on the wolf and said, "Someone in the county has been paying a high price for wolf skins and bones recently. Many people may have gone into the mountains to hunt, so there are wolves here."

"Why did you catch a wolf for no reason?" Jiang Cheng walked to the wolf, his tone somewhat pitying.

Jiang Cheng suddenly remembered that there was a wolf cub in his yard and asked, "Will Little Gray..."

"Don't worry, no one would think that someone would raise wolves. Most people go to the mountains to find wolf packs." Song Tingzhi stood up and comforted Jiang Cheng.

"That's fine. When we get back, tell Xiaoyu not to take Xiaohui out to play recently to prevent someone from seeing them." Jiang Cheng was still a little worried and planned to have a good talk with Song Yu after returning.

Jiang Cheng asked Song Tingzhi to bury the wolf's body in the ground, and then the two set out again.

After returning home, Jiang Cheng went to find Song Yu immediately and briefly told him what he had seen today. Song Yu was so scared that he hugged Xiao Hui tightly, nodded continuously, and promised not to take Xiao Hui out to play.

Jiang Cheng was relieved to see Song Yu agreed. It was almost Chinese New Year, and many children were kidnapped because they went out to play. It would be a good idea to use this incident to scare Song Yu and prevent him from running around too much.
