Chapter 69 Selling Tofu

Song Qian didn't know what was going on at first. She looked blankly at Xu Sanniang and a few others coming to her house to apologize to her.

After everyone left, Xu Sanniang told her what she had heard. Song Qian didn't say anything after listening, and then went back to the house silently.

"What happened?" Xu Sanniang looked at Song Qian's back as she returned to the house, feeling a little worried.

"It should be fine. Just wait for Qianqian to process it herself." Jiang Cheng comforted her. "After all, this is the first time this has happened to her, and it's not a good thing. We need to let her think about it for herself!"

"It's all because of these nagging old women!" Xu Sanniang cursed inwardly.

If it weren’t for these gossipy women, none of this would have happened!

While eating, Xu Sanniang saw that Song Qian was still not coming out, so she went to knock on the door.

Song Qian said she didn't want to eat, and Xu Sanniang tried to persuade her several times but to no avail, so she had to go back.

Everyone felt bad when there was one less person at the dinner table. I didn’t expect that learning a skill would involve so many things!

After Song Tingzhi came back, he learned that his sister had been slandered. He wanted to go and settle the score with them, but was stopped by Jiang Cheng.

In the afternoon, Xu Sanniang sent Song Yu to play next door, and came back to discuss with them how to persuade Song Qian to come out. At this time, Song Qian came out of the house by herself.

"Mom, Dad, Brother Chengcheng, and Big Brother, I've thought about this for a long time. Should I not go to study?" Song Qian said, looking at the people in the room.

"Qianqian, are you really willing to give up?"

Jiang Cheng saw Song Qian's expression and knew that she didn't think so. He walked over to her and asked softly.

Song Qian glanced at Jiang Cheng without saying anything.

"Yes, Qianqian, I think you've learned quite well." Xu Sanniang stepped forward and held Song Qian. "Is it because of what those crazy women said?"

Xu Sanniang felt that she had figured out the truth.

"Mom will go and teach those crazy women a lesson for you!" Xu Sanniang rolled up her sleeves and was about to go find Liu Yan and the others.

She hadn't taken a few steps when Song Qian pulled her back.

"Mom, don't go! Mom!"

Song Qian held Xu Sanniang, lowered her head, and tears fell to the ground drop by drop.

"Good child, mother won't go! Don't cry!" Xu Sanniang was completely helpless and could only look at the people around her with pleading eyes.

"Qianqian, if you really want to learn the piano, don't worry about what those people say. Your parents are there to support you! Don't be afraid!"

Song Tao walked from his chair to Song Qian, touched her hair, and said to her.

"Yes, Qianqian, don't be afraid! Big brother is here!" Song Tingzhi took over Song Tao's words, patted his chest and assured her.

Song Qian looked at the encouraging eyes of her family, wiped away her tears, and expressed her thoughts, "Mom and Dad, Big Brother, Brother Chengcheng, I want to continue learning the piano. I learned a lot over there and made a lot of friends. I want to continue learning!"

"Good boy! If you want to learn, let's continue learning!" Song Tao patted Song Qian's hair and made a decision.

Although Song Tao is in poor health and doesn't take charge of things, no one in the family will object to any decision he makes!

"Good boy! Your father has said it all, let's keep learning! No matter what others say, what we learn is ours, and there's no need to explain it to others!"

Xu Sanniang caressed Song Qian's face lovingly and comforted her.

Everyone in the family supports Song Qian, so she is not afraid of what outsiders say.

After staying at home for three days, Song Qian packed up her things and got on Song Tingzhi's donkey cart to go to town.

When they left, many people saw them and whispered to each other, but no one knew what they were talking about.

Song Qian also saw their actions, but pretended not to see anything.

People’s words are scary, but you cannot succumb to them!

After sending Song Qian to the town, Jiang Cheng really started to work on his tofu business.

A few days ago, I had to put things on hold because of one thing after another, but now I’m really ready to do it!

The next day, Jiang Cheng started working early in the morning and took out all the things he had prepared.

Song Tingzhi was grinding beans outside while he was preparing the things he needed inside.

After the tofu was made, Jiang Cheng asked Song Tingzhi to help load the things onto the donkey cart, and then the two of them went to the nearby Lihua Village.

Along the way, Song Tingzhi introduced the situation of Lihua Village to Jiang Cheng.

Lihua Village is next to Xinghua Village. Although it is farther from the town, the village does have a large population. Although the villagers are far from the town, everyone is quite wealthy and lives a better life than the people in Xinghua Village!

After hearing what Song Tingzhi said, Jiang Cheng became very interested in Lihua Village and felt that his tofu would definitely sell well in Lihua Village!

With this feeling, Jiang Cheng followed Song Tingzhi to Lihua Village.

After arriving at the village, Jiang Cheng shouted as before, but few people came to buy. Jiang Cheng looked at Song Tingzhi with a puzzled look on his face.

"Maybe the people here don't like to eat tofu. Let's wait a little longer!" Song Tingzhi was also curious, but still comforted Jiang Cheng.

"Okay!" Jiang Cheng nodded and continued shouting.

Jiang Cheng and Song Tingzhi worked for a long time, but few people came. Even if someone came, they would just look around and leave, except for the occasional person who wanted to buy tofu!

Seeing Jiang Cheng's lost expression, Song Tingzhi immediately suggested that Jiang Cheng follow him to visit other villages.

Seeing that no one was coming, Jiang Cheng had no choice but to pack up and follow Song Tingzhi to other villages to have a look.

Jiang Cheng's depressed mood didn't improve until he arrived at other villages. As expected, Lihua Village was the only exception. When people from other villages heard that what was being sold was tofu and it was not expensive, they rushed over in a swarm.

The tofu was soon sold out, and Jiang Cheng felt very happy when he saw the empty wooden basin.

After packing up his things, Jiang Cheng changed his mood from when he came and went back humming a song.

When they got home, Jiang Cheng told Xu Sanniang what happened in Lihua Village. After listening, Xu Sanniang only advised them not to go to Lihua Village all the time as it was not safe.

He also glared at Song Tingzhi, blaming him for not knowing the seriousness of the matter and bringing Jiang Cheng to Lihua Village.

Xu Sanniang spoke in a mysterious manner. After returning to her room, Jiang Cheng asked Song Tingzhi if there was any problem in Lihua Village.

"I'm not too sure either. I used to make a living by hunting in the mountains, and I don't know much about the things in other villages." Song Tingzhi said.

Jiang Cheng didn't get an answer from Song Tingzhi, so he didn't think too much about it. He packed up and planned to go out for dinner.

After getting a taste of success, Jiang Cheng would get up every day to make tofu, and then go to different towns with Song Tingzhi to sell tofu. As a result, Jiang Cheng's tofu became famous.

After working for more than half a month, it was soon time to plant wheat. Jiang Cheng could no longer make tofu every day. Xu Sanniang and the others went to the fields, so he had to be responsible for their food at home.
