Jiang Cheng first used stones from the river to simply form a circle, and then found a few longer sticks to build a simple grill.
Song Tingzhi directly chose a long and pointed wooden stick, walked barefoot to the middle of the river, and when the water covered his calves, he looked down, aimed at a fish, and plunged it in. When the stick was raised, a fish was already jumping back and forth at the top.
Song Tingzhi put the fish he caught into the bamboo basket at his feet, and then continued to catch fish.
Jiang Cheng was not idle either. After setting up the grill, Jiang Cheng went to the bushes nearby to pick up some dead branches. He put some of them inside the stone circle first and placed the rest next to it.
When Song Tingzhi came back from the river with the fish he had picked up, Jiang Cheng lit a fire with the flint he had brought with him. He then put the cleaned fish on a wooden stick and grilled it on the grill.
"Here." Song Tingzhi finished filling the water and sat down next to Jiang Cheng. He took out the hairband he had bought from his pocket and said, "I was passing by and saw something pretty, so I bought one."
Jiang Cheng was stunned for a moment, then took it and asked, "Why are you spending money recklessly?"
Jiang Cheng said this, but he was still very happy in his heart.
"It's not expensive. I bought it when I saw it while passing by. It looks good on you." Although Song Tingzhi didn't see how Jiang Cheng looked when he put it on, he had already started to praise him.
Jiang Cheng glanced at Song Tingzhi without saying a word, then took off the cloth band on his head and replaced it with the one Song Tingzhi had given him.
"Does it look good?" Jiang Cheng turned his head slightly.
A cypress-colored headband was faintly visible among Jiang Cheng's hair, with bamboo leaves embroidered on it. When the wind blew, Jiang Cheng looked very gentle.
Song Tingzhi was stunned for a moment, and only came back to his senses when Jiang Cheng waved his hand in front of him, "Beautiful! Really beautiful!"
After saying this, Song Tingzhi felt a lot more awkward and his face gradually turned red.
Cheng smiled slightly. He found that Song Tingzhi sometimes really looked like a big fool, dull and stupid.
"The fish is almost ready, let's eat it." Seeing that Song Tingzhi, such a big man, gradually curled up into a small ball, Jiang Cheng took the initiative to ease the atmosphere. It happened that the fish was also ready.
Jiang Cheng took the grilled fish down, sprinkled the seasoning on it from the side, and handed it to Song Tingzhi.
"Try it and see if it tastes good." Jiang Cheng handed the grilled fish to Song Tingzhi.
Song Tingzhi took the grilled fish and took a bite. The crispy texture exploded between his lips and teeth, and the light spicy taste was the icing on the cake.
"Delicious!" Song Tingzhi took a few more bites.
"If it tastes good, eat more. There's more." Jiang Cheng took one and started eating. It tasted good!
Jiang Cheng also did not forget to give Xiao Hui some food, and Xiao Hui's tail was wagging as he ate so much.
After Jiang Cheng and Song Tingzhi finished their grilled fish, they packed up and prepared to go back. Song Tingzhi asked Jiang Cheng to hold Xiao Hui in the back of the donkey cart while he drove the cart from the front. Soon, they returned to the cabin.
After arriving at the wooden house, Song Tingzhi first poured several buckets of water into the water tank and placed the wooden barrels under the shelf. Then he moved some wood to the side of the house, took an axe, and started chopping wood.
When I came this morning, I found that the firewood was almost used up. I was afraid that Jiang Cheng would be embarrassed to tell him, so I decided to be more conscious and chop all of it!
Jiang Cheng watched Song Tingzhi chopping firewood, feeling he couldn't sit idle. He walked over to the wooden rack. After Xiao Hui had used up all the weeping lilies he'd picked the previous day, there was still some left. He spread the rest on a dustpan to dry. Now that it looked almost dried, Jiang Cheng put it away for future use.
Xiao Hui was running around in the yard, it was so lively!
After Jiang Cheng finished his other work, he walked over to Song Tingzhi and said, "I think there's some space in the yard. I want to plant some vegetables so I don't have to run into the mountains all the time."
"Okay! I'll do whatever you say!" Song Tingzhi wiped the sweat off his face with the towel around his neck, stopped the work in his hands, and turned to look at Jiang Cheng.
"Yeah." Jiang Cheng looked at Song Tingzhi's face, which was flushed from busy work, with beads of sweat dripping down. His clothes, which were not loose enough to begin with, stuck tightly to his body because of the sweat, outlining Song Tingzhi's good figure. Jiang Cheng quickly lowered his head, embarrassed to look any further.
"Give me the towel, I'll change it for you." Jiang Cheng slowly stretched out his hand, but still didn't dare to look at Song Tingzhi.
"Thank you." Song Tingzhi quickly took the towel off his neck and put it in Jiang Cheng's hand. Looking at Jiang Cheng's embarrassed look, Song Tingzhi could only flatter him in his heart.
Jiang Cheng is so pretty!!! Even her shy look is so unique!!!
Jiang Cheng picked up the towel and left quickly. He felt that if he stayed any longer, he would be roasted!
After Song Tingzhi finished chopping the firewood, he moved it into the hut so that Jiang Cheng could use it.
Afterwards, Song Tingzhi walked into the wooden house and saw Jiang Cheng sewing something, so he didn't disturb him too much. He told him that he was going out hunting, then packed up his tools and left.
After Song Tingzhi left, Jiang Cheng sat in the room sewing socks while waiting for him to come back. Xiao Hui lay drowsy at Jiang Cheng's feet.
A few hours later, when it was dark, Song Tingzhi came back with the prey. Xiao Hui had sharp ears and ran out as soon as he heard the noise, followed by Jiang Cheng.
"Here, burn it to nourish your body." Song Tingzhi handed Jiang Cheng a pheasant and told him to eat more meat to nourish his body. He heard Jiang Cheng coughing a little last night.
The remaining prey were kept alive in a pen, and Song Tingzhi drained the blood of the dead ones, put them on the donkey cart, and sold them early the next morning.
Jiang Cheng put some potatoes and pheasant into the pan and fried them together. They were ready in a short while.
After they finished eating, Jiang Cheng told Song Tingzhi to bring back the vegetable seeds before going to bed. Then they packed up and went to sleep. Of course, Song Tingzhi still slept on the floor.
