"Come and catch me!"
“Don’t run!”
Jiang Cheng was kneading dough in the house when he heard the sound of Song Yu and other children playing.
Ever since he scared Song Yu by pretending to hunt wolves last time, he usually played in the yard and never went to play with Hu Zi next door.
Of course, Hu Zi was still a little kid who couldn't speak, and it was mostly Song Yu who teased him.
Because of this incident, when Song Yu came back, he ran to Jiang Cheng and asked him when he would give him a little nephew to play with him, which made Jiang Cheng blush.
Xu Sanniang just laughed beside him and didn't say anything to help Jiang Cheng. It was Song Tao who came to his rescue and saved Jiang Cheng from the disaster.
For several days, Jiang Cheng hid aside when he saw Song Yu, fearing that he would say something embarrassing again.
"Wrap the dumplings today so you can cook them the day after tomorrow." Xu Sanniang divided the dough that Jiang Cheng had mixed into small pieces, and rolled them into dough sheets with a rolling pin, placing them on the table one by one.
"The Spring Festival is in two days. Let Tingzhi put up the Spring Festival couplets in the afternoon." Jiang Cheng brought out the dumpling stuffing and placed it on the table. He also brought a bowl of water and placed it next to it, then sat down and started making dumplings.
"In two days it will be the new year, and our whole family must be well." Xu Sanniang was wrapping dumplings in her hands and talking to Jiang Cheng intermittently, "Qianqian, bring Xiaoyu in, don't let her play outside!"
Xu Sanniang shouted outside the door, and then continued to make dumplings.
"Mom, don't worry, our family will be fine." Jiang Cheng said as he sat aside.
Xu Sanniang and Jiang Cheng chatted as they made dumplings, finishing them quickly. Xu Sanniang took out some dumplings to cook and eat today, and put the rest in an ice bucket she had made outside to freeze, waiting to cook for the children the next morning.
Jiang Cheng cleaned the table and put the dumplings into the pot. While waiting for the water to boil, Jiang Cheng called Song Tingzhi, Song Tao, and his younger brothers and sisters out to eat.
After the dumplings were cooked, Jiang Cheng took them out, took a few plates, poured vinegar on them and placed them next to them. After everything was ready, the family sat around the table eating dumplings and chatting, looking very happy.
After dinner, Xu Sanniang went into the house to wash the dishes, and Jiang Cheng took Song Tingzhi outside to post couplets.
Song Tao watched the two children playing in the yard. Xiao Hui lay lazily at his feet, watching his little masters play.
After putting up the Spring Festival couplets, Jiang Cheng asked Song Tingzhi to go into the woodshed to chop the meat. Jiang Cheng asked Song Tingzhi to chop the meat into small pieces, and then cut some ginger and green onions into a paste and mix them into the meat paste.
Xu Sanniang was lighting a fire behind the stove. She had to heat the oil pan first before putting the meatballs in.
When the oil pan was hot, Song Tingzhi placed the basin of minced meat aside and began to make meat balls one by one and fry them in the pan.
During the frying process, Jiang Cheng asked Song Tingzhi to leave a few for them to taste.
"I'll ask Qianqian to send some to Xiaomi and Sister Li's home later." Jiang Cheng ate one and felt it was a little hot, but it tasted good.
"Your skills are getting better and better." Jiang Cheng praised.
"Thank you Chengcheng for the compliment." Song Tingzhi couldn't free his hands to touch Jiang Cheng, so he had to touch him with his head.
"Yes, son, fry it well. There is a big pot waiting for you!" Xu Sanniang was tired of making fire in the back, so she went to the front and took a meatball to taste.
"I understand, mother." Song Tingzhi looked at Xu Sanniang and shook his head helplessly.
When the frying was almost done, Jiang Cheng took Song Yu and Xiao Hui to He Xiaomi's house to deliver some meatballs. After arriving there, He's mother took the meatballs, called Jiang Cheng over, and gave him two strings of homemade sausages to take back.
On the way back, Jiang Cheng met Song Qiangdong's wife Ye Xiaoman, and Jiang Cheng asked her whether Song Qiangnan had returned.
Ye Xiaoman shook her head. Song Qiangnan had not come back since he left home last time. Today was the 29th, and he still hadn't come back. He probably wouldn't be able to come back.
Ye Xiaoman said that his mother-in-law and father-in-law would talk about Song Qiangnan every day at home, worried about whether he was doing well outside, and said that he was unfilial and had not given his family any news for so long.
Song Bo also asked people outside to inquire about Song Qiangnan, but there was no news either.
Now the family can only wait at home, waiting for Song Qiangnan to come back.
After hearing this, Jiang Cheng comforted Ye Xiaoman before saying goodbye to her.
After returning, Jiang Chengjiang found out the news on the way and told Xu Sanniang and the others.
"Alas, Qiangnan seems to be a quiet kid, but who would have thought he is such a stubborn one. Not only did he leave home without telling anyone, but he also didn't even bother to report back after such a long time, causing his parents and brother and sister-in-law to worry." Xu Sanniang stood up for her relative.
"Mom, don't worry. Brother Qiangnan may have his own ideas!" Jiang Cheng comforted.
"If I had known Qiangnan would leave, I might as well have let him be with Lu Xiaoxiao." Xu Sanniang said, "Qiangnan is such a grown-up kid, and it's so hard for him to fall in love with someone. Sigh..."
Xu Sanniang felt sorry for Song Qiangnan when she thought about it. How great it would be if he fell in love with an unmarried girl!
"Mom, don't think too much. Brother Qiangnan will come back naturally when he figures it out." Jiang Cheng hung up the sausages given by He's mother, and then came back to continue chatting with Xu Sanniang.
"Oh, I don't want to think too much about it." Xu Sanniang slapped her thigh, "Let's just live our lives well!"
Of course it would be even better if I could have a grandson sooner!
Xu Sanniang thought this in her heart, but did not say it out loud. She was afraid that speaking out would affect Jiang Cheng's mood.
Thinking of this, Xu Sanniang decided not to sit idle any longer, as there were still a lot of things waiting to be done at home!
Jiang Cheng prepared everything he would need for New Year's Eve before returning to his room with peace of mind.
Jiang Cheng took the quilt out to dry in the sun, thinking that it would be warm when she slept at night. Then she prepared new clothes for the two of them and put the lucky bags she would give them the next day on the cupboard. Only then did she decide to embroider a handkerchief while she had nothing to do while it was still early.
By the way, think about what kind of business you’re going to make after the New Year!
