Chapter 148: Convinced or Not

Su Wei really wanted to stay and watch the fun.

But after they had finished their meal, they felt too embarrassed to sit there any longer, and could not stand the look the waiter cast at them from time to time.

But Chen Yan had wanted to leave a long time ago.

So they left.

Qin Yu took a glance and then looked away.

It was getting dark outside and some shops had already hung lanterns.

The two of them walked forward slowly. In Su Wei's eyes, Han Ancient City was not prosperous at all. Usually, she felt that these streets were crowded. But today, Su Wei felt that these streets looked very warm for some reason. The pedestrians on the roadside, the moon in the sky, and the walls on the street were all coated with a layer of warm light.

Chen Yan suddenly held her hand. His hand was warm and dry. Su Wei only liked it a little bit, and her heart seemed to beat faster.

Chen Yan turned to look at her, and their eyes met. Chen Yan lowered his head, as if he was about to kiss her, but someone interrupted them.

Four people appeared in front, walked over with a smile, and looked at Su Wei with malicious intent.

Su Wei was speechless. Was he being raped?

She was worried that Chen Yan was no match for these people.

Chen Yan was extremely unhappy and looked at those people coldly.

"You two are going home so early? Do you want to stay and play with us..."

The leader smiled like the cannon fodder villains in all TV dramas, and looked at Su Wei unscrupulously.

Unfortunately, before he could finish his lines, Chen Yan stepped forward, grabbed his head, and slammed him against the wall.

"Bang." With a loud noise, the man fell to the ground. The others reacted, cursed, and rushed towards Chen Yan, but Chen Yan had already reached them first, kicked one person down with one foot, and grabbed another person's hair with the other hand and pulled it over. Before the man could react, he hit his head against the wall.

The last person found the right opportunity and stood behind Shen Yan, about to attack him, but was hit on the head by a stone from behind. The man turned around, looked at Su Wei, and fell down.

The leader at the beginning finally came to his senses and cursed at Chen Yan: "You little bastard, do you know who I am? I will never let you go..."

Chen Yan was in a bad mood. He walked over and stepped on the man's face, stepping the rest of his words into the ground.

Again and again...

That person couldn't even make a sound in the end. The remaining three people were terrified and wanted to run away. Chen Yan walked over and stepped on the face of the person who wanted to run away...

Su Wei: “…”

Chen Yan seems to particularly enjoy stepping on people's faces...

"Are you convinced?" Chen Yan asked the question again.

Su Wei used to think it was a bit scary. Now, Su Wei finds it quite funny. Chen Yan looks like a middle school student...

How can you not accept it?

Several gangsters were persuaded.

However, Chen Yan saw dissatisfaction in their eyes.

So a new round of head-stomping game began...

Su Wei was watching happily from the side. She thought Chen Yan was a little cute...

The alley was finally quiet.

"Let's go." Chen Yan said.

Su Wei followed.

The neighbor's child was still at the door. His parents had no intention of coming out to call him. He lay on the crack of the door and cried in grievance.

Seeing Chen Yan and Su Wei seemed to feel a little embarrassed, he shouted at Chen Yan: “What are you looking at?”

Chen Yan said, “Look at dog shit.”

The child cried loudly...

The two returned home.

The night was beautiful and the atmosphere was right, so Chen Yan and Su Wei entered the room and rolled onto the bed tacitly.

The next day, Su Wei did not set up the stall. The two of them hung out all day and went out to a restaurant in the evening. It was still the same restaurant as yesterday. The restaurant had a very good dish of candied sweet potato, which Su Wei loved.

While the two were eating, they saw two familiar faces coming in. They were the second son of the Zhuang family and Lin Feng, the big man who had searched for Su Zhuo at the city gate.

The two men obviously came here often, and as soon as they entered, they asked for a private room on the second floor.

Su Wei asked, "Is this the largest restaurant in Han Ancient City?"

Chen Yan nodded.

Su Weixin thought, no wonder he met so many people every day.

Some more businessmen came downstairs and sighed after sitting down.

"Business is already difficult, and the bandits on Qingfeng Mountain are rampant..."

One person sighed, "I heard from them that all the goods and silver were robbed, and the women were taken up the mountain. There's simply no way they can survive."

"Didn't they kill a lot of bandits before? I heard their heads are still hanging on the city wall."

Someone couldn't help but sneer when they heard this: "Bandits? Are you sure that's the head of a bandit hanging on the city wall?"

One sentence attracted everyone's attention.

"What do you mean? What else could it be but a gangster?"

"Yeah, don't talk nonsense."

"I'm not talking nonsense." The man snorted coldly: "Those hanging on the city wall are not bandits at all. They are all outsiders. They were captured and pretended to be bandits."

It was quiet all around.

The man drank a glass of wine and his face was red, obviously he drank a little too much.

"How do you know?" someone couldn't help but ask.

The man said: "Because my cousin is inside..."

He covered his face and started crying: "My aunt only has this one son. This time, he came to Hangu and got into a conflict with someone because he was drunk, so he was arrested by the police. We tried to rescue him but failed. As a result, his head appeared on the city wall the next day. He was even labeled a bandit from Qingfeng Mountain..."

The man stood up and said emotionally: "This is nonsense... Wuwuwu... Cousin... I'm sorry..."

He was very excited and was finally pulled back to his seat by everyone.

But the merchants heard his words and just sighed.

"Officials and bandits are one family. Even if we knew about this, we would just have to accept our bad luck."

"Who says it's not? What can we do if we know it?"

"Han Gucheng is a place where the Fang family has the final say. Who dares to say anything?"

Everyone sighed.

On the second floor, Lin Feng and Mr. Zhuang II heard everything clearly.

Lin Feng had a bad temper and angrily said, "That bastard Fang Kui treats others as fools."

Mr. Zhuang asked, "Is there any evidence?"

"Bandits?" Lin Feng sneered. "In addition to the cousin mentioned by the kid below, we have checked a few other people. One is a peddler who usually walks the streets doing small business. One came to stay with relatives. The other is actually a doctor who came to Han Ancient City to buy herbs."

Mr. Zhuang Er frowned slightly after hearing this.

"This isn't the first time Fang Kui has done this."

"Yes, finding a scapegoat... He's really good at it." Lin Feng said sarcastically, "I suspect he's in cahoots with the Qingfeng Mountain bandits."

What Lin Feng said was not groundless. Although all the officials were not clean and were all making money, Han Ancient City itself was poor and there was not much money to be made.

Fang Kui, however, was extremely rich.

"He has no descendants, what does he need so much money for?" Lin Feng cursed.

The second son of Zhuang said, "He has connections in the Northwest Army, and he pays them a lot of tribute every year."

Lin Feng was helpless: "I know that too, I'm just a little angry. Han Ancient City has finally gotten better over the years, and he messed it up..."

Lin Feng sighed.
