Chapter 106 Bullying

The jars of pickles were locked in the room, and although they were well sealed, some of the smell still wafted out. Sun was very dissatisfied and even urged Jiang to take out some pickles to share with everyone.

Jiang actually took out some pickles to share with everyone, but they were the pickles that her family ate every day, the mustard greens that she pickled last autumn.

After a winter and a spring, most of the pickled mustard greens are almost eaten up. What’s left are the ones at the bottom of the jar, which are the ones that have been pickled the longest and are naturally much saltier.

After eating it, Sun couldn't help but spit it out immediately:

"Even someone as honest as my fourth brother's wife has become a bad person and is now playing tricks!

This is totally different from the one in their room!"

On the appointed day, Erlang went to each restaurant to deliver the goods according to the agreed order. In fact, the delivery dates were staggered - after all, the dates agreed upon were different.

However, when Sun saw Erlang running around helping the fourth room, she became very angry and stopped him from going out.

On previous occasions, Erlang had walked right past her.

Later, Sun directly blocked the door and refused to let Erlang out. Erlang had no choice but to use his "trump card" - "Mom, what are you doing? I'm doing some work for my fourth uncle, it's not for nothing."

"What's not working for nothing? You just know how to fool me! I asked your Fourth Aunt for some pickles, but she was reluctant to give them to me. She even used last year's pickles to trick me. How can she be any better to you? Don't go there, or you'll get fooled by her again!"

"How can that be possible?"

Erlang laughed, took Sun's arm, walked into the house, reached into his sleeve and took out a few copper coins, and handed them to Sun.

"Yes. I'll pay you for every day's work."

One cent a day, three cents for two days, and if you can work for a full month, it will be calculated as five cents for three days!

It was just an errand, and Fourth Aunt was already very kind.

Not to mention that I am Fourth Aunt’s nephew, even if they are neighbors in the village, if someone asks me to help, how can I not go?

But don't tell anyone about this.

If my father finds out, you won't get a penny!"

Sun's eyes immediately lit up, and she grabbed the copper coin from Erlang's hand:

"Okay, I won't tell you. I'll save it all for you to marry you off!"

Erlang smiled and said, "Mom, don't worry about finding me a wife. Save this money for some snacks."

Sun was so coaxed by Erlang that her eyes were moistened.

"My eldest son is still the best!"

Erlang smiled and comforted her, "Mom, just rest at home. I'll go out and earn money for you!"

From then on, Sun no longer stopped Erlang from going out to "run errands for the fourth room."

However, Xia Yougui couldn't stand Erlang being "idle" like this.

But he was also embarrassed to stop Erlang openly and not let him "help the fourth room."

But people at home and abroad complained several times, saying that if Erlang's injury healed, he should stop wandering around and go to the fields to work.

The injury on Erlang's leg is indeed gradually getting better.

After Xia Yougui talked to him a few times, Erlang returned to his former self.

He was neither angry nor arguing. He went to the fields and worked as usual.

In fact, Erlang only looks like he is working hard, but compared with before, his work efficiency is much lower.

Xia Yougui also realized it, and he roared at Erlang several times for this.

But Erlang always frowned and worked silently, not taking his roar seriously at all.

Xia Yougui felt very aggrieved.

Because, outside, Xia Yougui didn't dare to go too far.

After all, Grandpa Xia and the brothers from other families saw everything that happened on his side.

In front of them, he could yell at Erlang, but he couldn't attack him casually, let alone pick up a weapon.

Otherwise, Mr. Xia would be the first one to not forgive him.

Besides, ever since he was conscripted as a laborer and came back injured, Erlang's temper has become much worse.

Xia Yougui also vaguely realized this difference.

He was also afraid that if he pushed too hard, Erlang would get angry and completely turn against him.

Because Xia Yougui was cautious and had reservations, and Sun received a few copper coins every now and then, Erlang and Taohua helped the fourth room with work, and things were going well at home.

But business matters were not so smooth.

Of the seven restaurants that have business dealings with the Xia family, five have already settled their bills happily, but there are still two that have not paid their bills on time.

The remaining two restaurants, one is called "Shenxianzui" and the other is called "Furongju", seem to be owned by the same force.

Erlang went to collect the payment twice. The first time he was quite nice and told him that the boss was out and the accountant had gone with him to collect the debt and would be back in a few days.

The second time he went back, "Shenxianzui" sent a few guys to drive Erlang out directly, accusing him of being a swindler.

"Furongju" went even further. Not only did they kick Erlang out, they also had their waiters beat him up.

Although his leg injury had healed, it still put him at a disadvantage when running, so he was hit a few times and came back with a bruised face.

Erlang did not mention to Sun and Xia Yougui that he had encountered someone who refused to pay his debt. He only said that his leg injury had just healed and he was not very strong. When he was avoiding vehicles on the road, he accidentally fell into a ditch on the side of the road.

But Erlang confessed to the fourth wife and Xia Daohua and the others in a very depressed manner.

He felt a little regretful and a little unfair:
