Chapter 18 Blessed

After watching the fireworks for a while, everyone remembered that it was New Year's Eve and they had to set off firecrackers at home, so they all went home.

Grandpa Xia happily went back to the house, got some firecrackers, and set them off in the yard. The crackling sound of firecrackers rang out, and the firelight illuminated the faces of everyone in the Xia family. Every face was so excited and so happy.

The sound of firecrackers rang out in the village, one after another, without stopping for a moment. Xia Daohua covered her ears, but still could not block out the sound of the firecrackers.

Throughout Beiguan Village, every household set off firecrackers to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new year.

In Mr. Feng's yard, there were suddenly more than a dozen explosions in succession. More than a dozen sky rockets jumped up, and then "bang, bang, bang", many fireworks exploded.

Red, green, gold, silver, you name it, there is everything you want.

Everyone in Beiguan Village was stunned and sighed at how wealthy Mr. Feng was.

In the firelight, Liu glared at Xia Daohua viciously.

Xia Daohua stood with the excited Linghua and Zaohua, happily admiring the fireworks, and did not notice anything unusual about Liu.

But Liu's glance happened to be seen by Wulang.

Wu Lang tugged at Lihua's sleeve and whispered to her. Lihua turned to look at Liu, and saw her cast a murderous look at Daohua for the second time, muttering something through gritted teeth.

Lihua strode over and came straight to Liu: "Aunt, what are you saying? Are you scolding Daohua?"

"No, you heard it wrong!"

Liu hurriedly denied it, but her heart was pounding.

She had already done something wrong, and Lihua walked like a cat, making no sound at all, and suddenly appeared in front of her. Liu was so scared that her lips trembled.

But she absolutely dared not and could not admit that she had just scolded Daohua and cursed her to death.

Otherwise, if you make Zhou dislike you, you will never be able to get a penny from the old couple again!

Liu hurriedly put on a smile and carefully coaxed Lihua:

"Lihua, think about it. Daohua is such a well-behaved child. She's never done anything wrong to me. Am I crazy? Why would I scold her for no reason?

It's probably because the firecrackers were too loud and you misheard it!"

Lihua naturally knew that she had not heard wrongly, but the firecrackers were too loud and she really did not hear clearly what Liu was muttering.

Looking at Liu's ingratiating smile, Lihua knew that she couldn't pursue the matter further today.

Otherwise, the old couple would definitely stand on Liu's side, and even his own parents would blame him for causing trouble for no reason.

Lihua stared at Liu coldly for a while, making her break out in a cold sweat, then she lowered her voice and threatened:

"Aunt, I don't care what grudge you have with Daohua, but if you want to harm Daohua, you have to get past me first!"

After Lihua finished her threats, she walked away, which made Liu so angry that she almost broke down. She managed to hold back her anger, but she couldn't keep the smile on her face.

Wu Lang watched quietly throughout the whole process. From beginning to end, his eyes never left Liu's face. The firelight flickered, and Wu Lang could almost see every expression on Liu's face.

Wulang clenched his fists, his palms were cold.

Perhaps, it is time to seriously consider the nonsense that Rice Flower boasted about.

Lihua returned to Daohua's side. Daohua looked at her face, which was filled with anger, with a little concern. She reached out and held her hand: "Sister, what's wrong with you?"

Lihua took a deep breath and said seriously:

"Daohua, remember this: don't get close to the people from the eldest house.

If your aunt asks you to go somewhere, you must remember to take me or Wu Lang with you. You are not allowed to go alone! Remember?"

Xia Daohua nodded obediently.

No trap in this world should be able to trap her. But since she couldn't publicly announce the existence of the Space Supermarket, why should she make Lihua worry?

When Lihua saw Daohua being so well-behaved, her heart suddenly felt sour.

Daohua's sensible behavior made her aunt seem even more unreasonable. Her reaction was very suspicious. There must be something fishy going on!

Lihua couldn't help but reach up and touch Daohua's head. This child's hair grows so fast. In just a few days, the newly emerged stubble has already grown to almost half an inch long.

Xia Daohua also raised her hand and touched her head. The scar on the back of her head was almost healed. Even if she didn't apply medicine, it shouldn't get inflamed again.

But the original owner's memory became increasingly incomplete.

At least, she couldn't remember any grudges between the original owner and her aunt Liu.

As far as I can remember, the original owner was a quiet little girl, occasionally bullied by Yinhua, who was a year older than her. She never dared to speak out when she was bullied...

It seems that I have never had any intersection with Liu.

The fireworks at Mr. Feng's house finally stopped, and the Xia family returned to the house reluctantly. According to the custom of previous years, they sat in their seats and waited to eat dumplings.

The dishes were already set, and the dumplings were soon served. Xia Daohua picked up her chopsticks and ate the dumplings with Laba garlic. As she was eating, she suddenly heard a "click" and found a copper coin in her mouth.

Lihua looked at her with a smile and said loudly, "Daihua is the first one to be blessed this year!" After saying that, she glanced proudly at Liu and the eldest wife's family.

Every year when the Xia family makes dumplings, they always make a few with "ingredients" added to the fillings. Whoever eats it will be blessed and lucky in the new year and will have a smooth year.

Normally, the dumplings were marked and would often be secretly placed in the bowls of Grandpa Xia and Mrs. Zhou. Mrs. Zhou would pick up a dumpling with her chopsticks and give it to whoever she liked.

The adults all know the secret of this place, but the children are kept in the dark.

However, Xia Daohua is not a real child.

My parents had played this trick before, in my previous life, when they were still together. But back then, my mother disliked coins because they were dirty, so she always used sweet candies as the special fillings in the dumplings.

This meal of dumplings inadvertently brought back her long-forgotten childhood memories.

Xia Daohua was slightly lost in thought, but her aunt Xia Yujiao had already started laughing:

"It seems our Rice Flower has really come back to enjoy herself!"

After Xia Yujiao said this, everyone laughed happily.

Yes, Daohua was injured so badly at the beginning, but still survived. Isn’t this exactly the saying “those who survive a great disaster will be blessed in the future”?

Even if no one else knew, Xia Yujiao knew it very well.

She served the dumplings tonight.

The few marked dumplings were mostly in Grandpa Xia's and Mrs. Zhou's bowls. It was pure luck that Xia Daohua got to eat the dumplings wrapped in copper coins!

This child, Daohua, is probably a very blessed one!
