Chapter 187 Deep Virtual Reality 14

Chapter 187 Deep Virtual Reality 14

After Xie Ning finished repairing all the damaged prosthetics, he took Andrei's hovercar back home. Several times during the journey, Xie Ning thought he was going to be thrown off. The hovercar was really too dilapidated and looked like it was pieced together from various parts.

Andrei thanked Xie Ning again, and when he drove the hovercar back to the rooftop, he suddenly sensed that something was wrong.

A silver-haired boy walked by carrying a bag of sorted scrap parts and said in a low voice, "My brother is back." His tone was so calm that it was as if he wasn't talking about his brother, but about someone insignificant.

Andrei took a deep breath and rushed into the small house without even bothering to cover the hovercar with a rain cover. The tense atmosphere inside eased as Andrei burst in.

Rella sat at a table laden with medicines, her usually gentle face now appearing somewhat cold, while another silver-haired youth stood by the window, gazing down at the abyss-like black hole below.

Neither of them spoke; the only sound was the clinking of medicine bottles.

"Silver Moon." Andrei looked at the silver-haired youth wearing a mask in front of him, feeling a lump in his throat. "What are you doing back here?"

Andrei took a deep breath and regained his composure. "You shouldn't have come back. From the moment you joined the rebels, you were no longer a member of Green Home. You will bring disaster!"

If their arrival at the Silver Moon attracts the attention of the Security Bureau, Andrei can hardly imagine the consequences. They are already marginalized "people," and if they get involved with the rebels, all that awaits them is elimination!

Silver Moon's face, as pale as snow, remained expressionless. He simply placed a pale blue, semi-transparent card on the table. "This is some money, enough for them to get brand new prosthetics. Also, I'm taking Silver Star with me."

"Impossible!" Andrei's eyes instantly turned bloodshot. "I absolutely will not allow you to take any of the children away! I don't care if you want to die, but they are still children, and I absolutely will not allow it..."

"Lycia, go and call Silver Star in."

Andrei paused, looking at Rella with deep sadness. "Rella, you...aren't you on my side? Didn't you say you'd protect all the children with me?"

The pain of betrayal overwhelmed Andrei's heart; he was in great agony.

Rella reluctantly put down the medicine in her hand. "Andrei, you once said that these children are people, that they are all independent individuals, so you can't make decisions for them, even under the guise of doing what's best for them."

Andrei turned his head and glared fiercely at Silver Moon.

Yin Xing arrived quickly, as if he had been waiting for a long time. His indifferent expression was exactly the same as Yin Yue's. If it weren't for the fact that one was a young man and the other a teenager, they could easily be mistaken for twins.

"I'm willing to go with my brother."

"Silver Star!" Andrei exclaimed in shock, "Silver Star, you're still young, you don't understand, do you know what this means? You..."

“I know,” Silver Star interrupted Andre before he could finish speaking, “that means I will become stronger, able to acquire more resources, and then become a protector.”

A glint flashed in Silver Star's eyes, but it quickly disappeared.

Andrei gritted his teeth in anger, glaring fiercely at Yinyue. He really wanted to beat Yinyue up, but he also knew very well that he couldn't even beat one of Yinyue's fingers. It was too infuriating!

"This is a new potion I made. I know you may not need it, but I still want to say that it's good to be alive." So, don't die.

Rella placed the potion on the table next to Silver Moon and then went out. She was also very sad, but she understood Silver Moon and Silver Star. Sometimes she wondered if she and Andre had made a mistake.

These children are kept here under the guise of protection, but they are not being given a good enough life.

A shadow fell behind them. Rella asked, "Have they left?"

"I'm leaving." Andrei was still a little sullen. "I'll patrol the area these next few days to see if anyone's watching us. I'll also visit Sister Lin more often to try and find out some inside information."

Speaking of Zhan Lin, Rella remembered the lie she had told today and felt uneasy. "Andrei, I lied today. Ms. Xie asked me why I didn't send the children to the orphanage. I didn't tell her the truth that the children were androids. Instead, I said they had defects."

“It’s alright, Rella. You’re doing this for the children’s sake. If Ms. Xie refuses to fix the children just because she knows they’re androids, then we’re in trouble…”

Andrei sighed. Rella was very tough when facing bad people, but she would become very awkward when facing people who were kind to her, for fear of saying the wrong thing and losing that last bit of kindness.
