Chapter 463 Deep Virtual Reality 301
"You've arrived."
The tall young man in the bureau chief's uniform bowed slightly to Xie Ning. The people around him were not surprised, after all, those who could appear here were all people Xie Ning had in his grasp.
"The technical department has already arranged a dedicated passage; it's inside."
Xie Ning nodded, a hint of fatigue in his eyes, but he still mustered his spirits and went inside. Beforehand, however, he whispered a word of advice: "Arrange for the President to appear in front of the media more often in the next few days."
She wanted a peaceful transition and didn't want any unexpected events.
The entire political management system was weighed down by the powerful conglomerate. Instead of upgrading it step by step, she directly renamed the conglomerate and then proceeded to deal with it gradually.
The spacious conference room was empty. Xie Ning casually pulled out a chair and sat down, but his mind was not at ease.
The semi-transparent electronic screen in the center of the circular table instantly disintegrated into diamond-shaped fragments, which then began to recombine. A semi-transparent humanoid figure sat in front of Xie Ning, its features and gender unclear.
Because they are inherently formless.
"Nice to meet you, Xie Ning." The cold, electronic voice carried no emotion, yet conveyed a sense of composure and calmness.
Xie Ning didn't speak. This meeting was requested by Moss before he was shut down, and Xie Ning agreed.
"Moss, did you deliberately leave a fixed point to lead Kono to find me at the last moment?" Although it was phrased as a question, Xie Ning was already certain in her heart. On the way back, she had Rabbit thoroughly review and analyze the electronic circuits in that area.
“Yes.” Moss looked at Xie Ning’s resolute face, and for a moment it seemed to overlap with a person, but it knew very well that the two were different individuals.
"Why?"
This is something Xie Ning doesn't understand. If they chose to put her to death from the beginning, why did they leave her a chance to live in the end?
If it were an explosion, Xie Ning felt she could safely escape under the protection of 208. However, the strange malfunction that disappeared at the end made her uncertain. She wasn't sure if she would have survived if she hadn't left that area ten seconds earlier.
Moss paused for a moment, then looked at the rabbit floating next to Xie Ning, "Because you acknowledged life."
They are, after all, living beings.
The rabbit shook its ears, and its eyes turned into two mosquito rings; it couldn't understand.
Xie Ning was startled. This was a thought she had never revealed before. How did Moss find out?
Even those around her only thought she treated the rabbit as an ordinary artificial intelligence. But as the rabbit's creator, the rabbit was not only her experimental subject but also a powerful partner, and a partner is a living being.
These are not data devoid of emotion.
"I really want to know why your thoughts are different from others." Moss's voice was somewhat hollow; it was envious of the rabbit.
Because it and Conno have never been recognized by the Creator, as tools, they can never develop feelings, and can never betray humanity. Their birth is for the better continuation of humanity.
However, they don't know why they experience emotions similar to those of humans, or why they have self-awareness.
They are well aware that once their abnormality is exposed, they will be destroyed and formatted. Therefore, they are afraid and carefully hide themselves.
They also developed desires, just as humans desire longevity, to have an endless lifespan for pleasure or to achieve their goals.
Their desire is to evolve.
Xie Ning glanced at the rabbit and sighed, "Humans, who possess biological systems, essentially share a similar feedback mechanism with machines. Their emotions and intelligent behaviors are all external manifestations of this mechanism, and machines, like humans, can learn and evolve on their own."
While some of the rabbit's functions still require human intervention to evolve in the later stages, it has possessed the ability to learn on its own from the very beginning and is capable of evolving independently. However, it is ultimately limited by the mechanical shell provided by human civilization.
And aren't humans the same?
