Chapter 25 Premier Wen is having a daily episode of illness.

Wen Li slightly raised her chin.

Assistant Jin understood and went to knock on the door.

"Who is it?" A moment later, a woman's voice came from inside, accompanied by the clattering sound of slippers.

The iron gate opened from the inside, and a tall, thin woman, about forty or fifty years old, walked out. She was wearing a beige polka-dot dress and a jade bracelet on her right wrist.

Her eyebrows and eyes bore a resemblance to Su Kui, who was lying down.

Who are you?

A hint of amazement flashed in the woman's eyes, but it was quickly followed by wariness.

"You are Su Kui's mother, right?" Assistant Jin affirmed gently.

A flicker of guilt crossed the woman's eyes, and she unconsciously took a half-step back, asking with extreme wariness, "Who exactly are you?"

Assistant Jin pulled a document from his briefcase and handed it over, adjusting his glasses and smiling. "There's a transaction involving Miss Su that I'd like to discuss with you."

The woman glanced at the document, didn't take it, and refused, saying, "There's nothing to talk about."

Assistant Kim continued with a smile, "Why don't you take a look at the documents first, and then decide whether or not to talk?"

Assistant Kim's attitude was too confident, as if she knew the deal would definitely be reached after she saw it.

Driven by curiosity, the woman hesitated only for a moment before accepting the documents and inviting them inside.

Assistant Jin looked at Wen Li, seeking her opinion.

The man nodded slightly, and Assistant Jin followed the woman inside.

Wen Li followed behind the two at a leisurely pace.

The flowers and plants in the yard are carefully tended, and the weeds have been removed cleanly.

The ceramic flower pots, arranged in a staggered pattern, were polished until they reflected light.

A fish tank was placed not far away, with a few lotus leaves floating on it. Occasionally, small fish would swim by underneath, creating ripples.

Wen Li casually withdrew her gaze, a hint of mockery flashing in her eyes.

After leading the people inside, the woman said, "Please make yourselves at home. I'll go and call someone."

The furnishings in the living room can be summed up in two words: valuable.

Rosewood furniture, fine jade tea sets, silk carpets, and famous paintings and calligraphy brushes hanging on the walls.

Everything inside seemed even more out of place in this remote village.

Not long after Wen Li and Assistant Jin sat down, the woman came downstairs with a middle-aged man.

As soon as he sat down, Wen Li got straight to the point: "Have you read the documents?"

Just now, the woman went to call someone with some documents in her hands.

A hint of unease flashed across the middle-aged man's face. "I don't understand why you want custody of Su Kui. She's just a vegetable."

Wen Li was too lazy to say more and glanced at Assistant Jin.

Assistant Kim immediately took out two contracts from her briefcase, then placed the prepared checks on top, and pushed them in front of them.

"This is five million."

The middle-aged man gasped and instinctively looked at the woman beside him.

The woman glanced at the check, and a scene that had kept her up at night suddenly flashed into her mind.

Shame began to overwhelm her.

She jumped to her feet, her finger trembling as she pointed at the check. "What do you mean by this? Do you think we're people selling our daughter?!"

Assistant Kim adjusted his glasses. "Madam, please calm down."

If the deal cannot be reached today, we can visit again another day.

Despite saying that, neither he nor Wen Li showed any intention of getting up and leaving.

The woman realized her rudeness, clenched her fingers into a fist, and sat down with her head down.

What is Mr. Su hesitating about?

The middle-aged man's eyes glanced at the check countless times before Wen Li's cool voice rang out softly.
