They set up camp in a large open area.
The teachers who led the teams also repeatedly reminded the students not to run around and to walk in groups.
But there are always one or two people who are not willing to listen to the teacher, or in fact, they don’t listen at all.
Cheng Duola picked up a stone by the water with strange symbols engraved on it. She couldn't understand the true meaning of the stone at all, but she still took it back.
She excitedly told her friend about this incident. Her friend looked at the stone in her hand and felt a strange feeling in her heart for no reason. She still tried her best to persuade her to throw away the stone.
Cheng Duola treated the baby like a treasure and had no intention of throwing it away. Her friends did not say anything more about it.
"I was just gathering firewood in the woods when I noticed a wooden sign on another path. It just had a big red cross on it."
"Do you think there's anything there?"
Boy A asked back.
"It's possible there's a hidden secret there."
Girl B said mysteriously.
“I don’t think it’s a good place.”
Girl B spoke up.
"Brother Chao, do you want to go and take a look?"
"Whatever...just think of it as looking for some excitement."
"Do any of you want to go on an adventure with me?"
"Forget it. I'm not interested in these."
Girl C answered while quickly doing calculations in her notebook with a pen in hand.
Why do this thankless thing? It’s better to just do the questions honestly.
And Cheng Duola was secretly listening to their conversation here...
After the five of them confirmed that the teacher was asleep, they decided to go together to see what was going on.
As the last ray of sunset light was swallowed by the horizon and night fell, a gloomy forest quietly appeared before my eyes. The air around me seemed to solidify, revealing a chill that made my heart palpitate.
The moonlight was thin, barely illuminating the path beneath my feet. Deep within the woods lay pitch black, like an unknown abyss that swallowed up all light. The branches swayed in the night wind, rustling like countless ghosts whispering.
Their twisted forms appear particularly strange in the faint moonlight, as if they will reach out at any time and pull lost travelers into endless darkness.
Every leaf seems to be telling an unknown secret, and the eyes hidden among the leaves may be spying on every creature that steps into this forbidden area.
The ground beneath their feet was soft and damp, and every step they took was accompanied by a dull echo, as if the earth were sighing. An indescribable stench filled the air, the smell of decay and death.
In this gloomy forest, time seems to have lost its meaning, and every second is filled with unknown and fear.
"How about...let's go back..."
"It looks so scary here..."
"Are you sure? You're alone, think it over carefully."
"I regret that I shouldn't have followed you to this damn place."
"What's the point of regretting it?"
They finally decided to go back. As they were walking back, they found that the road they had taken had changed. It was originally a flat road, but when they turned around, they saw many bushes and tall plants.
"Cheng Duola, are you sure you didn't remember the wrong way?"
"Did we just come from here?"
"It's this road...but why did this road become like this?"
“Could it be…?”
"Don't speak half your words."
Boy C thought for a while and said, "I think we must be lost."
So they tried other ways, but no matter what they tried, they would end up back where they started.
It's like... I'm stuck in a dead end.
