When the train station announcement sounded, Chen Chunhua clutched her one-way ticket tightly. The wind on the platform was so strong that the hem of her skirt rustled like countless unsent letters chasing after her.
As the whistle ripped through the night, she looked out the window at the flowing lights and suddenly remembered what he had written in his last letter: "The neon lights here are brighter than starlight."

Chen Chunhua dug her fingers deeply into the yellowed letter paper, her knuckles turning blue and white from the force, as if she wanted to crush the long-dried ink back into the lines of her palm.
