Chapter 148 Familiar Piano Sound

At that time, she would always bend down and pick him up from the piano stool, and his little arms would wrap around her neck, and the fragrance of milk mixed with the sweet scent of cherry blossoms would fall into her arms.

"How was your playing today?" Ye Qingliu asked, with a rare hint of hesitation in his voice. His fingers unconsciously stroked the edge of the piano lid, where there was a shallow scratch, which was accidentally made by him using the music stand when he was ten years old.

Chen Chunhua looked at Ye Qingliu and suddenly found that his shoulder blades were slightly raised under his uniform, like a pair of butterfly wings that had not yet fully unfolded.

As dusk deepened, the last ray of sunlight slipped from the ends of his hair and disappeared on the dark blue material of his uniform.

She smiled gently and reached out to brush away a speck of gold dust from his sleeve - it was a drop of gold dust that had fallen from the music score and looked like a tiny star in the evening light.

"Very good," Chen Chunhua said, her voice as gentle as the lullaby she sang to him many years ago, "You play very well..."

As good as before.

Just then, Chen Chunhua suddenly heard brisk footsteps outside the door.

She looked up and saw Hua Jinyue pushing the door open - the girl walked in wearing a lavender knitted dress, the hem of her skirt swaying gently with her steps, like a blooming violet.

The girl's skin glowed like a pearl under the crystal chandelier. Her slightly curly long hair was loosely tied with a ribbon, and a few strands of hair hung down by her neck, making her collarbone look particularly delicate.

She was holding a few exquisite shopping bags in her hands, her cheeks were slightly flushed from running, but her eyes were bright as if they were filled with stars.

——Eleven years.

The little girl who would pull her apron and softly call her "Auntie Chen" has now grown into a graceful young lady.

But those eyes are still the same as in my memory. Only when they look at someone will they reveal the purest smile.

————Just like now.

The moment Hua Jinyue saw her, her eyelashes trembled slightly, and a hint of shock flashed in her eyes, but she quickly hid it in a smile.

Hua Jinyue didn't even look at Chen Chunhua, as if she was just an insignificant stranger.

His gaze passed right past her and landed on the young man in front of the piano.

"elder brother!"

Hua Jinyue almost pounced over, like a bird returning to its nest, light and joyful.

Ye Qingliu was looking down at the music sheet when he heard her voice. His stern expression softened instantly. He was wearing his high school uniform, his shirt collar slightly open, the golden school badge gleaming softly in the sunlight.

Ye Qingliu reached out to catch her, letting her hang on his arm, her skirt swaying gently with her movements.

"Have you had enough fun?" Ye Qingliu pinched the tip of her nose, his voice filled with indulgence and helplessness.

"I'm so tired." She pouted and fell into his arms, rubbing her forehead against his shoulder. "Carry me back to the room, okay?"

Ye Qingliu raised his eyebrows: "Where are your friends?"

"They left first." She looked up, her eyes sparkling, with a sly smile, "I said my brother would come pick me up."

Ye Qingliu sighed softly, but still bent down slightly to let her jump on his back. Hua Jinyue cheered, wrapped her arms around his neck, rested her chin on his shoulder, and her warm breath brushed against his ear.

"Brother is the best." She murmured softly, her cheek against his back, clearly feeling his body temperature and heartbeat.

Chen Chunhua stood aside, silently clenching the rag in her hand. The aloof and distant young master of the Ye family in her memory was now circling the piano room with the girl on his back, letting her cling to him like a koala.

Hua Jinyue caught a glimpse of Chen Chunhua's expression from the corner of her eye, and the corners of her mouth curled up slightly. She suddenly reached out and covered Ye Qingliu's eyes: "Guess what I want to do now?"

Ye Qingliu paused, the corners of his lips raised slightly: "Want to slack off and not practice the piano again?"

"No!" She released her hand, slid down from his back, and instead pulled his wrist towards the piano. "Play a song with me, the same 'Wedding in a Dream' we played last time!"

Ye Qingliu was pressed down on the piano stool by her, helplessly watching her squeeze into his arms, her back pressed against his chest, her hands covering the backs of his hands.

"I'll play the left hand, and you play the right." She looked up at him, a sly glint in her eyes. "Don't make any mistakes."

Ye Qingliu chuckled softly, his fingertips landing on the piano keys, and he joined her fingers in pressing the first note. As the piano music began to flow, Hua Jinyue leaned back slightly, her hair rubbing against his chin like a sated cat.

Chen Chunhua stood in the corner, watching their interlaced fingers dancing on the piano keys, the boy's slender fingertips fitting perfectly with the girl's slender fingers.

Hua Jinyue suddenly stopped, turned around to face him, and held his face with both hands: "Brother, how was my playing?"

Ye Qingliu looked at her smug expression and rubbed her hair: "Just barely passing."

"Just passing?" Hua Jinyue frowned in dissatisfaction and suddenly moved closer, her nose almost touching his face. "What about this?"

Hua Jinyue's fingertips gently slid across the piano keys, playing a light melody, but her eyes were always fixed on him with a sly smile.

Ye Qingliu looked at her face so close to him, his Adam's apple moved slightly, and he finally sighed helplessly: "...very good."

"Guess what I brought you?"

Hua Jinyue tilted her head and deliberately lowered her voice, as if sharing a secret.

Ye Qingliu raised an eyebrow, but before he could answer, Hua Jinyue had already taken out a cup of iced lemon tea from the bag and put it on his face.

Ye Qingliu was so cold that he leaned back slightly, but she smiled cunningly and poked his cheek lightly with her finger.

"Is it cool?"

"Did you do this on purpose?"
