Chapter 155 Shopping

Hua Jinyue sat in a dark blue velvet armchair, her fingertips gently stroking the Wedgwood bone china teacup used by the British royal family.

The Earl Grey tea in the cup was steaming, and the fragrance of bergamot mixed with the sweetness of rose petals slowly diffused in the air with an air-conditioning constant temperature of 22 degrees.

On the three-tiered dessert stand in front of her, the top tier was raspberry macarons, the middle tier was freshly baked scones, and the bottom tier was chocolate lava cake sprinkled with gold foil.

Hua Jinyue was lowering her head to send a message to Ye Qingliu, her fingertips tapping lightly on the phone screen.

"Brother, I bought you a new watch. Can you try it when you get home tonight?"

The other party replied almost immediately: "Spending money recklessly again?"

The corners of her mouth rose unconsciously, and when she was about to reply, Lin Yuwei suddenly nudged Hua Jinyue with her elbow: "Jinyue, nine o'clock."

Through the carved crystal partition of the box, one can see Chen Rui and two followers walking towards this side.

He had dressed up deliberately today—a white Givenchy shirt under his school uniform jacket, and limited-edition sneakers from the Off-White and Nike collaboration on his feet, but the most eye-catching thing was the brand new green Rolex Submariner on his wrist.

The watch strap was obviously not adjusted properly, hanging loosely on his thin wrist, and the dial occasionally hit the edge of the table, making a "clicking" sound.

"Tsk," Lin Yuwei muttered softly, "The taste of a nouveau riche. The strap is so loose that you can fit two fingers through it."

Hua Jinyue chuckled and returned to typing: "I'm not wasting money, this is a reward for winning the Mathematical Olympiad!"

As soon as the message was sent, Chen Rui was already standing in front of their table.

He deliberately tapped the marble tabletop with his knuckles, causing the silver spoon to clang against the porcelain plate. "Hey, isn't that Miss Ye? What's going on? Are you following your 'perfect' brother around again?"

Several other socialites who were enjoying afternoon tea in the box looked up when they heard the sound, and some of them were already covering their mouths and laughing.

Hua Jinyue slowly put down the teacup, and the porcelain made an elegant crisp sound when it collided with the stone table top.

"Second Young Master Chen," Hua Jinyue raised her eyes, her gaze as calm as if she were examining a flawed item at an auction house. "Didn't your father teach you that it's rude to interrupt a lady's afternoon tea?"

Chen Rui's face froze, then he sneered, "Why are you pretending to be so noble? Everyone on this forum knows that you, Hua Jinyue, are a serious brother complex. You're always saying 'my brother is the best' and 'my brother is invincible'. Isn't that disgusting?"

Lin Yuwei snapped the gold-stamped menu shut. The crocodile leather pattern on the cover shone coldly under the light. "Chen Rui, your math monthly exam paper with a score of 38 last week is still on display in the teacher's office, right? Do you want me to help you recall what you wrote on the last question? 'Answer: I don't know'?"

A few suppressed laughs echoed around them. Chen Rui's ears flushed red, and he slammed his hands on the table, causing a macaron to fall off the three-tiered dessert stand.

The pink macaron rolled a few times on the white tablecloth and finally stopped next to Hua Jinyue's teacup.

"Second Young Master Chen," Hua Jinyue's voice was soft, but it silenced the entire room. "Do you know why TWG's rooms are made of Carrara white marble?"

She tapped the tabletop with her fingertips. "Because this stone is dense, coffee stains won't penetrate it as easily as regular marble."

She looked up at Chen Rui and said, "It's like some people. No matter how hard they try, they can't hide their cheapness at heart."

Chen Rui was so angry that he was shaking all over. The Rolex on his wrist hit the edge of the table again. This time the impact was so strong that the crown actually popped out and the hands stopped at 3:28.

"It seems your watch is just like you," Hua Jinyue took a sip of tea, "neither can stand the test of time."

A few suppressed laughs echoed around them. Chen Rui's ears flushed red, and he slammed his hands on the table, making the tea set clink. "Shut up! Isn't your Ye family just a few bucks? So what if Ye Qingliu is so powerful? He's just a nerd!"

Hua Jinyue suddenly smiled. She slowly stood up. Although she was half a head shorter than Chen Rui, her imposing manner completely overwhelmed him.

She pulled out her phone and opened a video, turning the volume up to full blast. In the video, Chairman Chen beamed at a business summit: "Ye Qingliu, the heir to the Ye Group, is the most outstanding young man I've ever met! We at the Chen Group hope to achieve in-depth cooperation with the Ye Group!"

After the video ended, the box fell silent. Chen Rui's face turned from red to white, then from white to blue, as brilliant as a palette. "It seems Uncle Chen and you don't agree."

Hua Jinyue put away her phone, picked up her teacup and took a sip. "By the way, you're wearing your watch wrong. That's not how you wear a Rolex Submariner. The strap should be..."

She paused deliberately, her eyes sweeping over Chen Rui's trembling wrist. "Forget it, you don't deserve this watch anyway. Remember to say harsh words before repairing the watch next time."

This sentence was the last straw that broke the camel's back. Chen Rui suddenly grabbed the candy jar on the table and was about to throw it over, but was stopped by the security guard who arrived in time.

"Second Master Chen," the manager said sternly, standing in front of Hua Jinyue, "Galaxy International does not welcome guests who cause trouble. Please leave."

Amidst the mocking and pitying gazes of the crowd, Chen Rui was "asked" to leave the café. Before leaving, he turned back and glared fiercely at Hua Jinyue: "You, the Ye family, shouldn't be so complacent! Just wait and see!"

Hua Jinyue had sat down again, cutting a macaron elegantly, not even bothering to glance at him.

After Chen Rui's figure completely disappeared, Lin Yuwei finally couldn't help laughing out loud: "Oh my god, did you see his expression? It was like he swallowed a live fly!"

Hua Jinyue gently stirred the black tea, the corners of her lips curled up slightly: "You brought humiliation upon yourself."

Hua Jinyue looked at the new message on her phone - "The cake has been bought" from Yiye Qingliu, and instantly changed from the sharp-tongued queen back to the obedient sister: "My brother bought me a cake~"

Lin Yuwei rolled her eyes. "You're so quick at changing your expression, the Oscars owe you a little golden statue."
