Chapter 182 Troublesome People

Wu Meng picked up the spoon again and continued feeding, but the atmosphere between the two had changed - every touch of the spoon, every brush of the fingertips, carried a subtle electric current.

Xu Jin swallowed the porridge in small sips, but his eyes drifted to Wu Meng's lips from time to time, with a secret desire.

"What happened yesterday..." Xu Jinshi suddenly spoke in a low voice, "I'm sorry... Sister... I shouldn't have made you angry..."

"Keep eating." Wu Meng ordered, scooping another spoonful of porridge to his mouth. "It's all over."

Xu Jinshi's eyelashes trembled violently, and his lips lost their color. He looked like a small animal cornered in a corner, wanting to escape but having nowhere to go.

Wu Meng looked at him like this, suddenly sighed, and reached out to rub his messy black hair.

"Forget it, let's eat first." Her tone softened. "There won't be a next time."

Xu Jinshi nodded in a daze, but when he tried to stand up, his legs went weak and he fell forward.

Wu Meng caught him quickly and felt the weight of his entire body pressing on her - much lighter than usual, and it hurt her bones.

"Really..." She grumbled, but still picked him up and carried him to the sofa in the living room. "What a troublesome little wolfdog."

Xu Jinshi nuzzled into her arms, murmuring unconsciously, "...I like you, sister..."

The words were as light as a feather falling to the ground, but they hit Wu Meng's heart hard.

She looked down at the half-asleep man in her arms, her fingertips gently tracing his delicate features, and an unprecedented tenderness welled up in her heart.
