Chapter 21: The Past Part 4

There is an unspeakable past in Ye Qingliu's memory. When he was four years old, his always old-fashioned father Ye Chenxi married a stepmother named Yi An.

If you only look at her appearance, you might be deceived by her appearance. Only after getting along with her will you find that she is a woman with a vicious personality.

Her arrival did not bring surprise to the family, but pain after a short period of happiness.

Yi An didn't like the brother and sister, and Ye Qingliu would not have the time to provoke Mrs. Yi An, his nominal mother.

Ye Qingliu has been observing everything that happens in the world since he was a child. Such a person will not suffer any loss in society.

There seemed to be an invisible chasm between him and Yi An, the kind that could not be crossed; he could only stand there quietly and never delve into it.

One day, Ye Qingliu accidentally found a photo in his father's study. The photo was of a beautiful woman with eyes and eyebrows very similar to his, but the emotion in those eyes was incomprehensible to Ye Qingliu at that time.

The beautiful woman in the photo is his biological mother, Hua Yueyao, a woman whose only vague figure remains in his memory.

In fact, there is a reason why Yi An hates Ye Qingliu. When she first came to this house and saw Ye Qingliu for the first time, the memory of that instant death re-entered Yi An's clumsy brain, stimulating her sensitive and fragile nerves.

Ye Qingliu has a face similar to someone in Yi An's memory...it seems to remind Yi An of the past that he cannot bear to look back on.

Yi An and Hua Yueyao are cousins. Yi An had an unhappy childhood. She often had a father who beat and kicked her at home. She didn't like such a family at all.

She didn't like this kind of home at all. Every time her father caught her, he would beat her violently, even when some things were clearly not her fault. Her father still refused to let her go, beating her without any reason. To put it bluntly, she was just a tool for venting his anger.

Her father didn't like her crying. If she cried, he would beat her even harder. The long-term beatings and the painful lessons taught this poor girl to be strong.

Yi An wrapped himself in a cold shell, and the sharp thorns that occasionally appeared would pierce the fragile human skin, causing blood to flow immediately.

At this age when she needs companionship the most, Yi An met her cousin Hua Yueyao. Her cousin was very kind to her. She would patiently tell her stories, buy her delicious snacks, and take her out to play.

At this time, her cousin also lived in Yi An's heart. She liked her cousin very much, and her cousin became Yi An's only support during her childhood.

As she grew older, Yi An fell in love with someone. The first time she transferred her love to someone else, she loved Ye Chenxi, and Hua Yueyao "loved" the handsome young man Ye Chenxi.

But fate loves to play tricks on people, and Ye Chenxi and Hua Yueyao entered the marriage hall together.

The moment she heard the news, she was stunned and didn't react for a long time.

The blood in his body rushed backwards, as if he were falling into an icy abyss. The image of Hua Yueyao, who had once been like a dazzling star in the night sky, suddenly shattered, shattering from the heart outward.

The broken pieces contain every moment, every bit of laughter, and it seems that they can never be healed again.

What is broken is not just the past.

Yi An, a cruel woman, was like a cicada that had shed its shell. Even the last bit of fantasy she had about the world was shattered, and she couldn't even offer a trace of tender compassion.

Yi An buried his past self with his own hands and said goodbye to that simple self. Everything had changed quietly at that time.

A black butterfly climbed up the withered vine, as if foreshadowing the upcoming ending.

The so-called love is nothing more than a tool for fools to deceive themselves, and it is also a weapon to hurt others in the name of love.

Yi An had plastic surgery, changed her identity, and vowed to take back everything she had lost. Now her heart is filled with hatred, as she learned that Hua Yueyao had a childhood sweetheart, and they loved each other but could not be together.

Under pressure from her family, Hua Yueyao married Ye Chenxi, a man she did not love, for political purposes.

Then just destroy everything, destroy her cousin's identity as a model lady.

Yi An attacked Hua Yueyao's childhood sweetheart, causing him to have a car accident indirectly. He found a scapegoat for himself and escaped legal sanctions.

Hua Yueyao was devastated when she heard the news shortly afterwards. She locked herself in her room, a door that also locked her heart. A year later, she died of depression.

Yi An used a series of means to get close to Ye Chenxi, seduced Ye Chenxi and successfully took his place, and soon fell in love with Ye Chenxi.

She discovered that Ye Chenxi also loved her. His love was like an antidote that cured the lack of emotion in Yi An's heart, and she quickly fell deeply in love with it.

She successfully rose to power and became a wealthy wife. However, everything began to change after she met Ye Qingliu.

Ye Qingliu and Hua Jinyue were the children left behind by her cousin. (Ye Qingliu took his father's surname, and Hua Jinyue took her mother's surname) As a latecomer, Yi An did not like these two children.

When Ye Qingliu was 6 years old, Yi An sent them to an orphanage. Ye Chenxi was often away on business trips. Yi An was left alone in the empty house, and sometimes she would recall her youth.

When it was late at night and everyone was asleep, Hua Yueyao's face would appear before her eyes, as if reminding her again and again not to peek at things that did not belong to her.
