Written on it in childish handwriting was the following: [Chengxi Sweet Time Strawberry Cake, Extra Frosting Bear].
The corners of the sticky note are curled up, but the writing is still as clear as yesterday.
He hesitated for a moment, then put the sticky note back to its original place. Instead, he picked up his phone and sent a message: [Tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock, sweet time in the west of the city, six strawberry cakes].
Before sending, he added: [I want eight frosted bears].
Putting down his phone, Gu Yuxiao's eyes fell on the sleeping Li Zhou. Amidst the rain outside the window, the lights of the Gu's Building were still as bright as stars.
He gently turned off the desk lamp, letting darkness envelope the entire study. In the shadows, unseen by anyone, the corners of the famously ruthless business tycoon's mouth curled up slightly, revealing his first genuine smile of the night.

When Jin Annuo walked out of the university gate holding an umbrella, his trouser legs were already wet by the splashing water, and the tips of his canvas shoes were stained with dark brown mud.
She hunched her neck and looked at the gray sky, her cell phone vibrating in her pocket.
"Are you at the school gate?" my brother's voice came through the receiver, a rustling sound of electricity, and the faint sound of keyboard tapping in the background. "I'll have the driver pick you up. The license plate number ends in 37."
"No need, brother," Jin Annuo stamped the water off his feet and looked at the blurred car lights in the rain. "It's just a few steps away. I can take the bus back by myself."
There was silence on the other end of the line for two seconds, followed by the soft sound of shuffling papers: "The rain is too heavy."
He is always like this, saying the most gentle words in an unquestionable tone.
Jin Annuo sniffed and was about to retort when she saw a black car slowly stop at the intersection. The window rolled down to reveal the face of her brother's assistant, Xiao Zhang: "Ms. Jin, President Jin asked me to pick you up."
She had no choice but to open the back door, and a dry, warm air rushed in. There was a thermos on the passenger seat, and she reached out to touch it, feeling the warmth through the stainless steel.
"Boss Jin asked me to bring you some ginger tea." Xiao Zhang glanced at her in the rearview mirror. "He said you weren't wearing enough this morning."
Jin Annuo pursed his lips. When he opened the thermos, hot steam rose up, and the aroma of ginger slices and brown sugar mixed with a hint of lemongrass - the scent of the cologne that his brother often used.
She sipped ginger tea, looking out the window at the street scene blurred by rain, and suddenly remembered the rainy day in the third grade of elementary school.
She forgot to bring an umbrella, so her brother ran from the junior high school in the rain to pick her up. He draped his school uniform jacket over her shoulders, but he himself was soaked like a drowned rat. After returning home, he had a high fever for three days.
The car stopped at the foot of the apartment building, and the rain continued to fall. Xiao Zhang was about to get out of the car to hold an umbrella when the back door was pushed open from the inside.
Jin Annuo jumped out of the car, opened his umbrella and ran towards the unit door, but bumped into a solid chest when rushing into the lobby.
"Are you running so fast?" A familiar voice laced with laughter. Jin Chenyun reached out to hold her shaking shoulders, his palms warm through her damp coat. "You're all wet."
He seemed to have returned home early today. He was not wearing a suit, but only a light gray cashmere sweater, and there were still water droplets on the ends of his hair.
Jin Annuo looked up at him and found that he was holding a plastic bag with half of a rainbow-colored rain boot visible from it.
"Here's to you." He shook the bag.
"Brother, how do you know I..." Jin Annuo's words were stuck in his throat.
When she went out in the morning, she stared at the old rain boots in the shoe cabinet and hesitated for a long time. Unexpectedly, her brother noticed it.
"Let's go to the elevator first." Jin Suyun put her wet umbrella into the umbrella bucket and took the thermos bucket. "Have you had the ginger tea?"
"Drank..." She followed him into the elevator and looked at their reflections in the mirror.
Her brother was a head taller than her, with broad shoulders. The cuffs of his cashmere sweater were rolled up, revealing the cheap watch she had given him, which he had worn for a long time.
As for herself, her hair was wet and stuck to her cheeks, and her skirt was still dripping with water.
When the elevator door opened, the aroma of food filled the air. Jin Yunyun put his rain boots in the entrance cabinet and turned to unbutton her coat. "Hurry up and take a shower. I made some hot noodle soup."
Jin Annuo, however, stayed beside him and refused to move, his nose nuzzling against the faint scent of laundry detergent on his cashmere sweater: "Brother, did you skip work again?"
"I came back after the meeting." Jin Suyun ruffled her hair and frowned when his fingertips touched her wet hair. "Go change your clothes quickly, or you'll catch a cold."
She slowly moved into the bathroom, and only when the hot water rushed over her body did she feel herself gradually warming up.
When she changed into her home clothes, she came out and found two bowls of steaming noodle soup on the dining table. A plate of sliced braised beef was placed on the edge of the bowl, and there was a fruit plate with oranges next to it - she had casually mentioned yesterday that she wanted to eat something sour.
"I added soft tofu and kelp." Jin Suyun scooped a spoonful of soup for her. "Taste it to see if it's salty enough."
The noodles absorbed the flavor of the bone broth, and the tofu melted in his mouth. Jin Annuo was eating so much that sweat broke out on the tip of his nose, and suddenly he heard a few muffled thunders coming from outside the window.
She subconsciously shrank her neck and the chopsticks in her hand almost fell into the bowl.
"Are you afraid of thunder?" Jin Chanyun put down his chopsticks and reached out to turn off the main light in the living room, leaving only the floor lamp next to the sofa. "Didn't you dare to step into puddles before?"
"That was when I was a kid!" Jin Annuo muttered softly, poking the tofu in the bowl with his chopsticks. "Now I think thunder is really loud..."
Jin Chanyun didn't say anything, but just stood up and brought a plush rabbit doll from the study - it was the one he gave her on her tenth birthday, and it is still placed on her bedside.
He stuffed the doll into her arms, sat back down opposite her, and continued to eat his noodles slowly.
The rain gradually got heavier, raindrops hit the floor-to-ceiling windows, and the thunder was getting closer and closer.
