Chapter 226 Lolita Girl

The strange man's voice on the other end of the line continued: "Tonight at 8 o'clock, the pier on the east side of Binhai Park. Come alone, or the old lady will die."

Feng Yulan's fingers almost dug into the receiver: "How do I know that my mother-in-law is really in your hands?"

After a rustling sound, Zhang Shumin's weak voice came: "Yulan... don't trust the Ye family... they are..."

The call was suddenly disconnected. Feng Yulan stood there in a daze, cold sweat dripping down her forehead. Her mother-in-law's voice sounded painful but lucid, not at all like the state of someone seriously injured.

"Ms. Feng?" Uncle Chen stood at the door, his eyes sharp. "Who's calling?"

Feng Yulan subconsciously concealed the truth: "I...I called the wrong number." She quickly changed the subject, "Have you searched the entire manor?"

Uncle Chen looked at her thoughtfully. "None of the surveillance cameras captured Ms. Zhang leaving. Unless..."

"Unless what?"

"Unless she's well prepared and familiar with the surveillance blind spots." Uncle Chen picked up the intercom. "Young Master Ye will be here in ten minutes."

Feng Yulan's heartbeat quickened. Wasn't Ye Qingliu injured? How could he have returned from the front lines so quickly?

The roar of a helicopter was heard outside the window. She ran to the balcony and saw a pure black helicopter landing on the lawn of the manor.

The cabin door opened, and Ye Qingliu walked down with one hand covering his shoulder. His school uniform jacket was casually draped over his shoulder, revealing a blood-stained bandage.

Surprisingly, he was followed by a girl in a Lolita dress - with layers of pink skirt, white lace stockings, and two ponytails, she looked like an exquisite doll.

The girl skipped and danced beside Ye Qingliu, but her expression suddenly changed when she saw her brother's shoulder injury.

"Who did it?" Her voice was sickeningly sweet, but her eyes were as cold as a knife.

Ye Qingliu rubbed her hair: "It's just a minor injury, Jinyue."

Hua Jinyue—Feng Yulan thought of the sister Ye Qingliu had mentioned. This seemingly harmless sophomore girl was now gently touching her brother's wound with her fingertips, a dangerous glint in her eyes.

The three of them quickly arrived at the living room. Ye Qingliu got straight to the point: "Zhang Shumin escaped."

"How do you know?" Feng Yulan blurted out.

The boy with gray-blue eyes smiled slightly and pulled a small display from his pocket. "I put nano-trackers in her medicine."

On the screen, a red dot is moving very fast in the city of Singapore, probably by car.

Hua Jinyue came over, her twin ponytails brushing against Feng Yulan's arm, carrying the sweet scent of strawberry shampoo: "Brother, this aunt is so mean. She can run and jump, but she's pretending to be sick."

Feng Yulan stared at the moving red dot, her stomach twisting. Had her mother-in-law lied to her? Was the coughing up blood and weakness just an act?

Ye Qingliu clicked on a file: "Interpol just sent back a file. Zhang Shumin, formerly known as Liu Meifang, was Jin Wancheng's mistress and financial director. She took key account books with her when she absconded with the funds 28 years ago."

The screen showed a photo of Zhang Shumin and Jin Wancheng when they were young, as well as bank transfer records - just last week, a Swiss account transferred $2 million to her.

"Impossible..." Feng Yulan's voice trembled, "She always said that Jin Wancheng killed her husband..."

"She's never been married." Ye Qingliu said calmly, "Zhang Shuo is an orphan she adopted and specifically trained to be a drug trafficker."

Feng Yulan's legs went weak and she fell onto the sofa.

She remembered how her mother-in-law turned a blind eye when Zhang Shuo beat her, the nights when she mysteriously disappeared, and how her mother-in-law always asked her to work at a specific supermarket - the supermarket where suspicious trucks were often parked at the back door.

"So... the Kitayama Files?"

"Loot division record." Ye Qingliu magnified a document. "Jin Wancheng wanted to rob her fellow thieves, but she had a trick up her sleeve."

Hua Jinyue suddenly giggled, her voice as clear as a silver bell: "Brother, this aunt is so stupid, she thought we couldn't find her."

She spun around, her skirt flying. "Should Jinyue go and get her back?"

Ye Qingliu shook his head: "Interpol has already set up surveillance." He looked at Feng Yulan, "Did you receive a call?"

Feng Yulan was startled: "Why are you..."

"The room is monitored, standard procedure." Ye Qingliu said as a matter of course, "What does the other party want?"

"The hard drive...the one you found from Jin Wancheng."

Hua Jinyue suddenly came close to Feng Yulan, so close that she could count her eyelashes. "Sister, you're not going to help that bad aunt, are you?"

Feng Yulan was surrounded by the sweet perfume of the girl, but felt a chill down her spine: "I...I just..."

"Jinyue." Ye Qingliu stopped him softly, "Go prepare the car, we'll go meet them."

The girl left with a pout, and gave Feng Yulan a meaningful look before leaving.

When they were alone in the living room, Ye Qingliu sighed, "Ms. Feng, I know this is hard to accept. But Zhang Shumin has been taking advantage of you for six years."

Feng Yulan clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms. "Why are you telling me now?"

"I need evidence." Ye Qingliu pointed to the wound on his shoulder. "It's worth getting shot for this."

The sunlight shone through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto his well-defined profile, and his gray-blue eyes were as clear as polar glaciers.

Feng Yulan suddenly realized that this young man had been in control of the overall situation from the beginning, and she was just a chess piece being used on the chessboard.

"Who...are you?" her voice was dry.

Ye Qingliu was about to answer when Hua Jinyue came back skipping: "The car is ready!"

She tilted her head and looked at Feng Yulan, "Sister, are you going too?"

Thirty minutes later, a seemingly ordinary business car drove towards Binhai Park. Feng Yulan sat in the back seat, next to Hua Jinyue, fiddling with her laptop. Ye Qingliu was in the passenger seat, talking to someone through a headset.
