Chapter 298: Mr. Qin's Absolute Suppression

He glanced at the email title and the brief body of the message, his expression cold and emotionless. Then, he clicked on the attachment.

The photo instantly enlarged on the screen. In a dimly lit private room at the club, two figures were seen in an intimate pose.

The look in Qin Yuheng's eyes as he looked up at him was filled with obsession, devotion, and a reckless passion. And...his own hand was covering the back of Qin Yuheng's hand.

Time seemed to freeze. The only sound in the office was the faint whirring of the central air conditioner. Qin Yuzheng stared at the photo quietly, his eyes deep and unfathomable, like a still well.

There was no anger, no surprise, not even a hint of a sense of having their privacy intruded upon. Just pure, cold... indifference.

It was as if the person in the photo who was being stared at by his brother with that kind of eyes was not himself at all.

After a few seconds, he closed the image and returned his gaze to the email. "A friend who wishes to remain anonymous?"

His low, cold voice echoed in the silent office, with a barely audible hint of mockery, "Are you concerned about the Qin family's reputation?"

He picked up the intercom and said only three words, concise and without any emotion:

"Check the source. Immediately."

"Yes, Mr. Qin." Ji Yan's voice was without any hesitation.

Qin Yuzheng hung up the phone, leaned back slightly, and sank into the wide leather chair.

He raised his hand, and his slender fingers unconsciously and extremely slowly stroked his smooth jawline. His eyes were cast at the raging snow and wind outside the window. In his deep eyes, a very faint chill finally surged, but enough to freeze the soul.

Ning Yunmeng... The name and all the information about the "real daughter" of the Ning family clearly appeared in his mind.

Stupid, greedy, self-righteous... and, an almost crazy hatred for the girl named Ning Xiwan.

Very good. His restless brother had found an...interesting toy this time.

But this toy seemed a little ignorant of its own life and death. It actually dared to stretch its claws in front of him and even wanted to use him to achieve its goals?

The corners of Qin Yuzheng's lips slowly curved upwards into an extremely cold arc.

That smile was devoid of warmth, but instead carried a cruel interest that looked down upon the struggles of ants.

Since someone wants to play with fire, he doesn't mind... making the fire burn a little brighter.

It just so happened that he also wanted to see how his younger brother, who had tried every possible means to attract his attention, would end up this time.

Ning Yunmeng waited anxiously for two days in the Ning family villa. The email fell into oblivion, with no response.

There was no news from Qin Yuheng either, as if he had vanished from the face of the earth. This deathly silence filled her with more fear and torment than any direct threat.

She refreshed the anonymous mailbox over and over again, but it was always empty. The immense psychological pressure made her unable to sleep or eat, and she was close to mental collapse.

On the evening of the third day, her backup phone suddenly vibrated. An extremely brief message came from an encrypted unknown number:

Tomorrow night at 8:00 PM, Twilight's top floor VIP room 1. Come alone. No waiting after your time.

It wasn't signed. But Ning Yunmeng's heart instantly began to beat wildly! It was him! It had to be Qin Yuzheng! He had finally responded!

Great fear and a touch of morbid excitement seized her at the same time. She knew that the real negotiation, or the moment that would decide her life or death, had arrived.

'Twilight' is one of the city's most high-end and secretive private clubs, with a strict membership invitation system.

The top floor is only open to a very small number of people at the top of the pyramid, and it is extremely private.

At exactly eight o'clock tomorrow night, Ning Yunmeng will be wearing a low-key black dress with a coat of the same color on the outside, and sunglasses and a mask that almost covers half of her face.

Under the silent guidance of the waiter, I stepped into the only VIP box on the top floor - the "Stargazing Pavilion".

The heavy carved wooden door closed silently behind him. The scene inside the box made Ning Yunmeng hold her breath.

This place doesn't resemble a reception room, but more like a miniature universe. The huge curved dome is designed to resemble a deep starry sky, with countless tiny optical fibers embedded within it like stars, slowly flowing and emitting a tranquil blue light.

There was no extra furniture except for a large, sleek black metal chair placed alone in the center of the room, and a simple square table and two chairs made of the same material not far away from the chair.

Qin Yuzheng sat on the metal chair in the center that looked like a throne.

He wore a simple black turtleneck cashmere sweater and matching trousers. He had no tie on, and his collar was casually unbuttoned, revealing his pale skin and defined collarbone. He sat lazily, one long leg casually draped over the other.

He held a glass of amber liquid in his hand, and the ice cubes gently hit the wall of the glass, making a slight crisp sound.

Without the main light on, the light source for the entire space comes from the slowly flowing galaxy in the dome.

The faint blue starlight fell on his cold and perfect profile, outlining a deep contour, half in the light and half hidden in the deep shadows, adding a bit of mystery and oppression.

He did not look at Ning Yunmeng who came in from the door, but just lowered his eyelashes slightly and looked intently at the ice cubes spinning in the cup, as if it was the most worthy work of art in the world.

Ning Yunmeng stood at the door, feeling as small as a speck of dust. A huge fear instantly gripped her, and her legs felt like they were filled with lead, making it almost impossible to move.

She didn't even dare to breathe too loudly, for fear of disturbing the gods or demons beneath the tranquil galaxy.
