Chapter 299 Qin Yuheng's Deadly Game

Ning Yunmeng felt as if all her bones had been pulled out. She collapsed on the cold metal chair, unable to even lift a fingertip.

Qin Yuzheng's eyes, which were cold and looked down upon an ant, and his calm but heart-piercing pronouncement... She knew that it was not a threat, but a statement of fact.

She didn't even deserve to be crushed to death, she only deserved to be forgotten in the dust.

The Qin family... the Ning family... Ning Xiwan... everything she had worked so hard for, the revenge and glory she thought were within her grasp, were as fragile as a punctured piece of waste paper in front of the real ruler of the Qin family.

She couldn't even imagine how Qin Yuzheng would "end." Would he make her disappear quietly? Or would he use a more cruel method to make her suffer a fate worse than death?

Ji Yan's phone vibrated very slightly.

He took a look, still with that calm expression, and made a "please" gesture to Ning Yunmeng, who was like a frightened bird: "Miss Ning, the car is downstairs."

There was no choice. Ning Yunmeng stood up stiffly like a puppet being manipulated, and followed Ji Yan with shaky steps, passing through the dark corridor that seemed to lead to hell and stepping into the exclusive elevator.

The elevator descended silently, and the feeling of weightlessness made her stomach churn. She clutched the spare phone in her pocket tightly, as if it were her only remaining lifeline, even though she knew that straw had long been crushed to dust by Qin Yuzheng's gentle twist.

The black Bentley Mulsanne was like a silent coffin, driving steadily on the city streets where the wind and snow were gradually subsiding.

Outside the car window, the city's neon lights cast distorted light and shadows on the wet ground, just like her broken world at the moment.

Ji Yan sat in the passenger seat, silent. Ning Yunmeng curled up in the back seat, hugging her arms tightly, her teeth chattering uncontrollably.

The car did not drive towards the Ning family, but stopped at the exclusive elevator entrance of the underground garage of a top private hospital.

Ning Yunmeng's heart sank! Hospital? What was Qin Yuzheng going to do to her? Her fear instantly reached its peak!

"Ms. Ning, please." Ji Yan opened the car door, his tone still formal.

Ning Yunmeng's legs practically trembled as she exited the car, each step feeling like she was treading on the edge of a knife. The cold elevator reached the top floor. The elevator door opened, revealing a remarkably quiet corridor covered in thick carpet.

The air was filled with a cold, oppressive scent, a mixture of disinfectant and expensive fragrance. At the end of the corridor, there was only a heavy ward door.

Ji Yan stopped in front of the door, stepped aside, and motioned for her to go in by herself.

Ning Yunmeng stood in front of the door, feeling that it was like the entrance to hell. She took a few deep breaths and used all her strength to push the heavy door open.

The light in the ward was soft and warm, and the decor was like a suite in a top-tier hotel, luxurious and comfortable. However, the lingering smell of disinfectant in the air still revealed its true nature.

On the large hospital bed, a woman in a blue and white striped hospital gown lay quietly.

Her face was haggard and pale. Her once beautiful appearance had been eroded by illness and time, leaving only deep ravines. Her gray hair was sparsely attached to her forehead, her eyes were closed, and her weak vital signs were maintained by a ventilator.

The ECG monitor beside the bed made a regular and cold beeping sound, which was the only sound in the silent room.

Ning Yunmeng was struck by lightning and froze in place!

That was her biological mother, forgotten in a mental hospital for years! The woman who had been regarded as a disgrace and a burden since she was adopted into the Ning family, a woman they wished would be completely erased from existence!

How could she be here?! And in this... dying state?!

The huge shock even temporarily overwhelmed her fear. She subconsciously looked around, and the luxurious ward was empty.

There was only the haggard woman lying on the hospital bed, barely breathing with the help of a machine, and her daughter, who was full of hatred and fear.

Qin Yuzheng…what had he sent her here for? To let her watch the mother she had never cared about breathe her last? Was this punishment for her "living a life worse than death"?

Ning Yunmeng stumbled to the bedside and looked at the lifeless face. There was no sadness, no guilt, only a kind of anger and... confusion at being completely fooled, trampled in the mud and crushed repeatedly.

She hated Ning Xiwan, hated Qin Yuheng, hated Qin Yuzheng, and even hated the woman who brought her into this world! Why had her life turned out like this?!

Just when she was on the verge of a mental breakdown, the door of the ward was silently pushed open.

Ning Yunmeng turned around suddenly, her heart almost jumping out of her throat.

The person standing at the door was not the Qin Yuzheng she feared, nor the indifferent Lin Yan, but Qin Yuheng!

He wore a well-tailored dark gray cashmere coat and a pressed white shirt with one button casually undone at the collar. His handsome face wore a perfectly balanced expression of worry and fatigue.

He even held a beautifully wrapped bouquet of white lilies.

"Yunmeng!" When he saw Ning Yunmeng, he seemed stunned for a moment, then walked in quickly, frowning slightly, his voice filled with a familiar, reassuring gentleness.

"Why are you here? Why do you look so bad? Assistant Ji just said that your aunt is not in good condition and asked me to come and see... I didn't expect you to be here too."

He walked to the bedside and gently placed the lily on the bedside table, his movements natural and smooth.

Then he turned to Ning Yunmeng, his beautiful eyes filled with concern, and he reached out his hand as if to touch her face: "What happened? Are you scared by your aunt's condition? Don't be afraid, I'm here."

Looking at the gentle, handsome face in front of her that was familiar to her bones, and listening to his caring words, Ning Yunmeng's nerves, which had been stretched to the extreme, seemed to be crushed by the last straw and broke in an instant.
