Chapter 302 Hot Milk

Qin Yuzheng looked at the forced smile on his face and the slightly red eyes. The elusive gentleness in his deep eyes seemed to deepen.

He didn't respond to the comment about the milk, but gave a barely perceptible nod.

Then he slowly stood up.

The tall figure instantly brought an invisible sense of oppression. Qin Yuheng's heart also began to rise, thinking that this short-lived warmth was about to end.

However, Qin Yuzheng did not leave immediately. He stood there, his eyes fixed on Qin Yuheng for a few seconds.

That look was no longer scrutiny, but more like... confirmation. Confirmation of whether he had truly calmed down.

Then, Qin Yuzheng did something that made Qin Yuheng almost think he was drunk - he stretched out his hand to Qin Yuheng very naturally.

The hand with distinct joints that controlled countless wealth and power was now hanging quietly in front of Qin Yuheng.

The palm is facing upwards, the fingers are long and strong, carrying a silent invitation and... a power that cannot be refused.

Qin Yuheng's mind went blank! He stared blankly at the hand in front of him, then suddenly looked up at Qin Yuzheng's face.

There was still no expression on my brother's face, his eyes were calm and deep, as if the action of extending his hand was the most natural thing.

A huge, almost overwhelming surge of ecstasy and incredible impact instantly swept through Qin Yuheng's body! His blood seemed to boil at this moment!

Without any hesitation, he immediately stretched out his hand, which was trembling slightly with excitement, and carefully and with an almost pious cherishment, placed his hand in Qin Yuzheng's broad palm.

Qin Yuzheng's hands were dry, warm, with thin calluses, and contained great power.

He held Qin Yuheng's slightly cold fingers firmly, without using any force, but with a sense of absolute control and... an indescribable sense of security.

Then, he exerted a little force and pulled Qin Yuheng, who was still sitting on the ground, up.

Qin Yuheng stood up with the help of his strength. His body was still a little weak due to excitement and the effects of alcohol, and he subconsciously moved closer to Qin Yuzheng.

Qin Yuzheng didn't seem to care and just let go of his hand naturally.

"It's late." Qin Yuzheng's deep voice rang out in the warm and quiet greenhouse, breaking the long silence. With a strange, soothing power, he said, "Go and rest."

He didn't pause, but turned and, with steady steps, took the lead towards the greenhouse's exit. His tall figure appeared remarkably reliable in the dappled light and shadow.

Qin Yuheng stood there, looking down at his own hand, which had just been held by his brother. The palm of his hand seemed to still linger with the dry, warm touch and the feeling of strong power.

He raised his head and looked at Qin Yuzheng's back as he was about to disappear in the plants. The bright light in his beautiful phoenix eyes rekindled, with a kind of lost and regained, almost pious joy and satisfaction.

He took a few quick steps and followed closely with a brisk pace, like a large dog that had finally been called by its master.

"Brother, wait for me!"

The two walked one after the other through the warm and humid plant kingdom filled with the fragrance of flowers, pushed open the heavy glass door, and stepped back into the bright but cold light of the main house.

The heavy snow outside was still falling silently, decorating the whole world with silver and white.

Qin Yuzheng paused at the spiral staircase leading to the second floor. He turned slightly sideways, his eyes fixed on Qin Yuheng, who was following closely behind him.

The dim light from the wall lamp fell on his stern profile, seeming to soften the overly sharp lines.

"Tomorrow," he began, his voice still low and gentle, but it was no longer an order, more like... a notice, "ask Ji Yan to bring up the unopened package in your study."

Qin Yuheng was stunned for a moment, then realized what was happening! It was the gift he'd been preparing for so long but had never dared to give! Brother...he saw it? He...took it for himself?!

A huge surprise exploded in Qin Yuheng's heart like fireworks! He tried hard to suppress the grin that was almost reaching his ears, nodded vigorously, and said in a voice filled with uncontrollable joy: "Okay! Brother! I'll give it to you tomorrow morning!"

Qin Yuzheng looked at the light that was almost overflowing from his eyes, and the imperceptible gentleness in his deep pupils seemed to deepen a little.

He nodded imperceptibly, said nothing more, turned around, and climbed the stairs. His steady footsteps echoed in the empty hall.

Qin Yuheng didn't follow immediately. He stood there, looking up at his brother's tall figure disappearing around the corner of the stairs. Finally, a smile broke out on his face, pure and brilliant, like the first melting of ice and snow.

At this moment, all the madness, anger, loss and grievances were completely soothed and healed by that cup of warm milk, that brief handshake, and the message about the gift...

He turned around and walked briskly towards his room. When he passed the huge French window in the living room, he stopped and looked out at the falling snow and the quiet courtyard covered with snow.

The glass window reflected his face with a satisfied smile and the empty, cold mansion behind him. But this coldness seemed to no longer be able to erode him in the slightest.

Because his heart was now filled with an unprecedented warmth and confidence.

He stretched out his finger and silently drew a small smiling face on the cold glass, facing the snowflakes flying outside the window.

Then he said softly, so low that only he could hear:

"Brother... Happy New Year."
