Chapter 302 Hot Milk

A few seconds later, Qin Yuzheng walked to the other side of the tea table and sat on the ground, his movements natural and smooth.

He said nothing, simply gently pushing the cup of hot milk, which exuded a rich, sweet aroma of milk and malt, onto the carpet in front of Qin Yuheng. The warm walls of the cup formed a small white mist in the cool air.

Qin Yuheng's distracted gaze was drawn to the glass of milk that suddenly appeared. He blinked a little slowly, then slowly raised his head, following the bony hand that had just put down the cup.

Qin Yuzheng was sitting opposite him, less than a meter away.

In the dim light, that face, as cold as an ice sculpture, seemed to…lose some of the intimidating intimidation it had during the day. The lines seemed a little softer in the warm yellow glow. Was it his imagination? Or was it the effects of the alcohol?

Qin Yuzheng didn't look at him, but just lowered his eyelids slightly, looking at the calm surface of the milk in the cup. The warm yellow light fell on his drooping, thick and long eyelashes, casting a small, gentle shadow.

He was enveloped in the warm, moist air of the greenhouse and the aroma of food. The cold, icy atmosphere that had lingered all year round and kept strangers away seemed to have melted away quietly in this environment, revealing a rare, even... gentle feeling of relaxation.

Qin Yuheng's heart suddenly jumped! It was as if he had been hit hard by something!

He almost held his breath, staring at Qin Yuzheng without blinking, for fear of disturbing the dream-like scene before him.

My brother... brought him some hot milk? And... sat across from him?

He subconsciously loosened his grip on the bottle, letting it tumble onto the thick carpet with a dull thud. He reached out, his fingertips trembling slightly, and carefully picked up the cup of warm milk.

The rich aroma of milk mixed with the sweet aroma of malt penetrates the nasal cavity, and the warm feeling spreads along the cold fingertips all the way to the heart.

He lowered his head and took small sips. The warm liquid slid down his throat, soothing his alcohol-burned esophagus and melting the ice in his heart. He didn't dare look up, fearing that if he did, this fleeting, stolen warmth would dissipate like bubbles.

He just used the corner of his eye to greedily depict the god-like figure sitting quietly in the dimness opposite him.

Time seemed to stretch and freeze in this moment. The only sounds in the greenhouse were the two people's subtle breathing, the hum of steam rising from the plants, and the sound of Qin Yuheng sipping milk.

There were no words, no eye contact, only a cup of warm milk and this warm and quiet plant world that isolated the wind, snow and noise outside.

Qin Yuheng held the half-empty cup, the warm touch finally bringing some feeling to his cold fingertips. He mustered his courage and raised his head very gently and slowly.

Qin Yuzheng still kept his eyes slightly lowered, and his profile appeared calm and perfect in the dim light.

He seemed to notice Qin Yuheng's gaze, his long eyelashes trembled almost imperceptibly, and then he slowly raised his eyes.

Their eyes met.

Those eyes, as deep as a cold pond, seemed to contain the entire universe's sea of stars in the dim light.

There was no longer the sharp and cold scrutiny that penetrated people's hearts during the day. Instead, there was a rare and indescribable... calmness?

In fact, beneath that profound tranquility, Qin Yuheng seemed to catch a glimpse of a subtle, gentle warmth, like the first melting snow. Was it an illusion caused by the dim light? Or was it... the warmth of the milk infecting the divine being?

Qin Yuheng's heart skipped a beat! He almost forgot to breathe. He just held the cup stupidly, staring blankly at those eyes, as if he was sucked into that mysterious sea of stars.

Qin Yuzheng's gaze lingered on his face for a moment. It was no longer cold, but still carried a heavy weight, as if it could see through all his confused thoughts and hidden desires.

Then, his gaze moved slightly downwards and landed on the overturned empty wine bottle at Qin Yuheng's feet.

There were no words of blame, not even a frown.

Qin Yuzheng simply reached out his hand naturally, his slender fingers crossing the tea table and gently removing the unsightly empty bottle. His movements were smooth and casual, as if he were simply brushing away a speck of dust.

He placed the bottle a little further to his side, then withdrew his hand and resumed his quiet sitting posture. Throughout the entire process, his eyes never left Qin Yuheng's face.

This subtle movement, like a silent current of warmth, instantly broke through all of Qin Yuheng's defenses! His brother saw it! He saw his embarrassment, his drinking to drown his sorrows, and even the anxiety and loss behind his foolish and crazy actions.

He did not scold or question, but with such a silent but powerful action, he took away the bottle of wine that symbolized loss of control and escape.

It seems to be saying: Stop drinking, I'm here.

The huge warmth mixed with the unspeakable sadness, like a surging wave, instantly broke through Qin Yuheng's heart.

He suddenly lowered his head and bit his lower lip tightly, his eyes instantly becoming hot. Something warm surged up uncontrollably, blurring his vision.

He blinked hard, forcing the wetness back.

He couldn't cry. He could never show weakness in front of his brother.

He took a deep breath, held the glass of lukewarm milk, and drank the rest in small sips. The warm liquid slid into his stomach, bringing a strange, soothing sense of calm.

Putting down the empty cup, he raised his head and forced a somewhat stiff smile, one that no longer carried despair or hostility. His voice was slightly hoarse, "Brother... milk... tastes great."
