Chapter 317 The Warmth of Three-point Sugar

He quickly lowered his head to hide his burning cheeks and the grin that was almost reaching his ears, and pretended to concentrate on studying that damn mechanics problem.

But the formulas and symbols on the draft paper seemed to have turned into jumping notes, dancing vaguely before his eyes.

Chao Youye sat down in the empty seat opposite him and put her cup of ice-free milk tea aside without drinking it.

He opened the thick book "Classical Field Theory" he brought with him, holding a silver pen between his slender fingers, his posture calm and elegant.

The sunlight filtered through the tall window frames, dancing on his focused profile and the pages of the book.

“Slurp… slurp…”

Every time Mu Xinrong took a puff, he couldn't help but secretly raise his eyelids and quickly glance at Chao Youye opposite him.

Look at his drooping eyelashes, his straight nose, his bony hand holding the pen... and then take a sip of the sweet milk tea with satisfaction.

It was as if the cup contained not green jasmine, but a magic potion that allowed him to see the person opposite him.

Chao Youye seemed to be concentrating on the derivation of the profound Dirac field equation on the pages of the book, and his pen tip fluently wrote concise and powerful formulas on the notebook.

However, the corners of his slightly pursed lips curved upwards in an almost imperceptible, extremely subtle arc.

The continuous, subtle sucking sound from the other side, which was filled with joy and satisfaction, was like a soft feather, gently and continuously scratching the habitually frozen lake of his heart.

Mu Xinrong finally forced his attention back to the mechanics problem in front of him.

Perhaps it was the cup of milk tea with just the right sweetness that replenished his sugar intake, or perhaps it was... the strange sense of security brought by the person opposite him, but his irritable mood gradually calmed down.

My thoughts became clearer, and the points where I was stuck before suddenly became clear!

He excitedly grabbed the pen and began to calculate on the draft paper. The tip of the pen made a smooth rustling sound as it slid across the paper.

"Done!" He exclaimed softly, a smile of relief and a little pride on his face, and subconsciously wanted to push the calculation paper to Chao Youye to see.

"Look, Chao Youye! I've got it! It turns out we need to use Euler angle conversion here..."

He raised his head, but his voice stopped abruptly.

Chao Youye had put down her pen and book at some point and was looking at him quietly.

Those violet eyes looked exceptionally clear in the sunlight, without the usual scrutiny or indifference in them, but rather an almost focused... observation?

Mu Xinrong felt a little embarrassed by his gaze. His hand holding the calculation paper froze in mid-air, and his cheeks began to heat up again: "Uh... that... I figured it out..."

Chao Youye's gaze moved from his flushed cheeks to the draft paper he was holding, and she glanced at the slightly sloppy but clear calculation process on it.

He nodded imperceptibly. "That's the right idea. The conversion of angular momentum components is handled more concisely than the standard answer."

Mu Xinrong's eyes lit up again instantly! Being affirmed by Chao Youye made him happier than solving ten difficult problems! He grinned, revealing a row of neat little white teeth, like a big puppy that was comforted by being stroked.

He happily picked up the milk tea, took another big sip, and shook his head contentedly, causing a few unruly strands of hair to shake along with him.

Chao Youye looked at his unconcealed happiness, looked at his eyes slightly narrowed with satisfaction, looked at the light green milk foam on the corner of his mouth... On the frozen wasteland in his heart, it seemed as if there were tiny, tender green buds, quietly breaking through the ground under the warm sunshine.

He picked up his pen again and returned his gaze to the page of his book.

This time, those complex field equations no longer seemed to be just cold symbols. They seemed to be tinged with the warmth of the sunlight outside the window, and had a hint of... a warm texture belonging to life.

Mu Xinrong was in a good mood after solving the problem. He leaned back in his chair and continued to enjoy his three-part sugar green grape jasmine tea.

His eyes fell on the cup of milk tea that Chao Youye had placed on the corner of the table, which had hardly been touched.

"Youye, your milk tea... don't you want to drink it?" He asked in a low voice, "It's ice-free. The taste will change if it's left for a long time."

He felt a little bad for the drink that looked just as tempting.

Chao Youye paused with her pen tip, without looking up: "Too sweet."

He was concise and to the point.

"But you just tasted mine, and it was also three parts sugar..." Mu Xinrong retorted subconsciously, and only then realized what he said, and his face got a little hot again.

Chao Youye was silent for a few seconds. Just when Mu Xinrong thought he would respond with silence again, he put down his pen and reached for his cup of milk tea. His fingertips touched the wall of the cup, and it was cold.

His slender fingers held the cup, but he didn't drink it immediately, but his eyes were on the straw.

Mu Xinrong's heartbeat quickened again. He thought of that... indirect contact just now.

Chao Youye turned her head slightly to avoid Mu Xinrong's gaze, her movements showing a deliberate calmness and... a hint of barely perceptible stiffness.

He held the straw between his lips and took a small sip. The cool, slightly sweet liquid slid down his throat, carrying the refreshing aroma of green grapes and the delicate fragrance of jasmine.

The sweetness of three parts sugar was indeed a bit obvious to him, but it seemed... not difficult to accept.

His Adam's apple rolled, he swallowed the milk tea, and then put the cup back on the corner of the table. He still had no intention of drinking more, as if he was just completing a task.

Mu Xinrong watched his series of actions, looked at the tips of his ears which turned slightly red (she was definitely not mistaken this time!), and watched him pretend to be calm but couldn't hide a hint of awkwardness, her heart was filled with joy!

It was like countless colorful bubbles popping out of my chest.
