Chapter 319: Fighting the Love Rival

Mu Xinrong ignored Fang Yi and, like a bird returning to its nest, headed towards Chao Youye with a clear goal.

He ran to Chao Youye, breathing slightly, his cheeks flushed with a healthy blush from running.

He looked at Chao Youye with sparkling eyes, with complete dependence and intimacy: "Have you been waiting for a long time? Something happened at the club, I'm sorry."

His voice was soft and sticky, with a hint of coquettishness, completely different from the imposing call just now.

Chao Youye naturally raised her hand and tidied up his hair, which was a little messy from running. Her movements were so familiar that it seemed as if she had done it a thousand times. Her voice was gentler than Fang Yi had ever heard before: "Just arrived. No rush."

He even took the not-so-heavy schoolbag from Mu Xinrong's shoulders with his movements being extremely natural.

Fang Yi watched this scene, and the smile on his face almost disappeared. He coughed dryly, trying to regain attention: "Ahem, Junior Brother Chao, what I just said..."

Mu Xinrong seemed to have just seen Fang Yi. She turned her head abruptly, her face still covered with that bright yet distant smile, and her tone was filled with just the right amount of surprise: "Huh? Senior Fang is here too? Is there something you want to talk to our Youye about?"

He deliberately emphasized the three words "our family", and his intention to declare sovereignty was obvious.

Fang Yi was choked by the bluntness of "our family" and managed to maintain his composure: "Oh, nothing serious. I just saw Junior Chao here and chatted with him. I invited him to watch our department's friendly basketball game this weekend. It's very exciting."

"Basketball game?" Mu Xinrong blinked his big eyes with an innocent look on his face, then very naturally reached out and held Chao Youye's arm, his body almost sticking to him.

He looked up at Chao Youye, his tone a bit domineering and coquettish, "Chao Youye, didn't you promise to go with me to see that newly released sci-fi movie this weekend? I've already booked the tickets! It's in the IMAX theater! It's the new movie by your favorite director!"

He hadn't even asked Chao Youye! But he was certain that Chao Youye would never ruin his plan!

Sure enough, Chao Youye lowered his eyes to look at the little guy who was hugging his arms tightly, with cunning and a hint of nervousness in his eyes, and a hint of indulgence appeared in the depths of his purple eyes.

He nodded cooperatively, looked at Fang Yi, and his voice returned to its usual coldness: "Sorry, Senior Fang, I have an appointment."

Fang Yi's face darkened completely. He watched Mu Xinrong clinging to Chao Youye like a small animal guarding its food, and saw Chao Youye's undisguised indulgence in his eyes. A strong sense of frustration and jealousy surged in his heart.

He forced a stiff smile. "Really? That's a shame. Junior Brother Mu and Junior Brother Chao have a really...good relationship."

The last two words were said with some gnashing of teeth.

"Of course!" Mu Xinrong smiled even brighter, even a little proudly, and shook his arm towards Youye. "Our Youye is the best to me! Right, Youye?"

He raised his head, his eyes sparkling as he waited for Chao Youye's affirmation.

Chao Youye looked at his little look that seemed to be asking for praise, and the smile in her eyes deepened. She said "hmm" softly, in a low and clear voice, with unquestionable affirmation.

This "hmm" was like a heavy hammer, hitting Fang Yi's heart hard.

He couldn't stay any longer, so he reluctantly said, "I won't bother you anymore," and left in a hurry with a depressed mood.

Looking at Fang Yi's disappearing back, Mu Xinrong instantly became like a little rooster that had won a battle, with his head held high and chest puffed out, his face full of pride that said, "Look! I'm so awesome!"

He let go of Chao Youye's arm, put his hands on his hips, and made a little face in the direction Fang Yi left.

"Humph! How dare you set your sights on me!"

This ferocious yet adorable look made Chao Youye unable to hold back any longer and she laughed softly.

He reached out and grabbed Mu Xinrong, who was still showing off, into his arms and hugged her tightly.

Mu Xinrong was caught off guard when he was hugged. He was stunned at first, but then he felt the familiar and warm embrace, and his fur that had just stood up was instantly smoothed out.

He nestled obediently in Chao Youye's arms, listening to the muffled laughter coming from his chest, and chuckled a little embarrassedly.

"Movie tickets?" Chao Youye asked above his head, a smile still lingering in her voice.

Mu Xinrong blushed and muttered softly: "...I'll order it right away! Now! Immediately!" As she spoke, she was about to take out her cell phone.

Chao Youye tightened her arms and stopped him from moving.

"No rush."

He lowered his head and gently touched Mu Xinrong's forehead with his cold lips. His voice was low and gentle, with a hint of doting helplessness and satisfied indulgence.

"Next time, just tell him directly. You are mine, no proof needed."

boom--!

Mu Xinrong felt as if all the blood in his body had rushed to his head! He felt as if he was soaked in boiling honey, with sweet bubbles bubbling from the inside out, making him dizzy and scalding.

"You...you're such a foul! Damn it!"

He buried himself in Chao Youye's arms, cursing and protesting, but his voice was so soft that it lacked any strength, leaving only pure sweetness and embarrassment.

Chao Youye hugged him, feeling the scorching temperature and pounding heartbeat of the man in her arms. His violet eyes were so gentle in the afterglow of the setting sun that they seemed to carry the starlight of the entire universe.

He tightened his arms slightly.

"Well, stop it."
