Chapter 336 Snowy Campus

The halo of the street lamps spread out into blurry balls of light in the dense snow curtain, and the whole world was quickly swallowed up by a violent white chaos.

The wind was howling, and snowflakes hit the huge floor-to-ceiling windows of the laboratory, making a fine and rapid "crackling" sound, like countless tiny ice crystals hitting the glass drum.

The scene outside the window became blurred in just a few minutes, leaving only the rolling and surging white.

A veritable blizzard froze the entire city.

Inside the lab, however, there was a warm and cozy atmosphere, a world of its own. The sound of the air conditioner's airflow was blocked out from our consciousness, leaving only the sound of our close breathing and the white noise of the snowstorm outside the window.

Chao Youye hugged Mu Xinrong quietly for a while before gently releasing her arms.

He took off his coat, which was covered in snow and soaked with cold air, and casually draped it over the back of a nearby chair. Underneath was a perfectly tailored dark gray cashmere sweater that accentuated his broad, straight shoulders.

He walked to the window and stared at the violent white chaos outside, his purple eyes calm.

"It's snowing heavily." His voice had returned to its usual calmness, but it lacked the usual coldness and hardness, and instead had a subtle softness. "It looks like it won't stop anytime soon."

Mu Xinrong also moved to the window, his nose almost touching the cold glass, looking at the apocalyptic scene outside. Instead of feeling worried, he felt a strange excitement.

"Wow, such heavy snow! Guanghua hasn't had such heavy snow in a long time!" He turned his head and looked at Chao Youye with sparkling eyes. "What do you think, when we wake up tomorrow morning, will the whole campus turn into a big cream cake?"

Chao Youye was amused by his childish metaphor and raised her hand to rub his head. "Are you hungry?"

Mu Xinrong nodded honestly, clutching his stomach, a look of slight grievance on his face. "Yeah! I'm so hungry waiting for you! The cafeteria must have closed long ago, and the delivery guy probably can't make it through this snowstorm..."

He looked at Youye eagerly, like a small animal waiting to be fed, "Youye, can we... make some hot cocoa? Warm yourself up!"

This suggestion made Chao Youye's eyebrows raise slightly. This is a cutting-edge physics laboratory, not a tea room.

Any inconspicuous heating plate on the laboratory bench may be worth tens or even hundreds of thousands of dollars, and is strictly limited to use for specific precision experimental operations.

Using them to make hot cocoa? It's an absolute violation of both lab safety regulations and the sanctity of precision instruments.

Mu Xinrong obviously thought of this immediately. He blinked guiltily, carefully observing Chao Youye's expression, and his voice became softer, with a hint of coquettishness.

"Just... just for a little while? Use that heating plate on the far side, set it to the lowest setting... I guarantee it won't get damaged or dirty!"

He raised three fingers and swore, his eyes filled with pleading and a hint of cunning, "Please, Youye... I'm really cold, I really want to drink sweet hot cocoa."
