Chapter 343: Golden Circle and Blue Ice Cave

For the next two days, Chao Youye planned the itinerary precisely like a rigorous and efficient guide.

Mu Xinrong is like a happy battery that is always fully charged, full of infinite curiosity and enthusiasm for everything.

They drove into the famous "Golden Circle" geyser area, and the air was filled with a strong smell of sulfur.

Mu Xinrong squatted by the fence nervously and expectantly, holding Chao Youye's arm tightly, staring at the spring emitting white steam without blinking.

"When will it erupt? Will it really be very high? Will it burn us?" He asked questions in a low voice, like a machine gun.

"Based on historical eruption intervals and underground pressure monitoring data, it's about 3-5 minutes."

Chao Youye looked at her watch, her voice steady and reassuring, "The eruption height is usually 20-40 meters. That's a safe distance."

As soon as he finished speaking, the water at the spring suddenly arched upward, forming a huge, trembling blue bubble, and then -

"boom!!!"

A thick white dragon-like water column wrapped in scorching steam shot up into the sky! Straight into the clouds! The water column dispersed in the air, turning into hot rain mist all over the sky, reflecting a small rainbow in the sunlight.

A huge noise and steaming heat waves hit me in the face!

"Wow---!!!"

Mu Xinrong's exclamation was drowned out by the loud noise of the eruption and the admiration of the surrounding tourists.

He jumped up excitedly and subconsciously hugged Chao Youye's waist tightly, burying his face in his chest.

Then he suddenly raised his head, his eyes wide open, following the magnificent white water dragon without blinking, his face filled with pure shock and ecstasy.

"Amazing! The power of nature! Youye, your calculations are so accurate!"

Chao Youye held him steadily as he was overly excited, preventing him from being scalded by the splashing hot water. Her purple eyes looked at the water column rising straight into the sky, then she looked down at her lover in her arms whose cheeks were flushed with excitement, and a slight curve appeared at the corner of her mouth.

The spectacular Gullfoss waterfall demonstrates another extreme power of water.

Two huge stepped faults pour the melted snow from the glacier down with thunderous force, falling into the deep canyon, stirring up roaring mist in the sky and forming a huge rainbow bridge in the sunlight.

The roar was deafening, and the rocks underfoot seemed to be shaking.

Mu Xinrong stood on the observation deck, completely stunned by the majestic momentum. He opened his mouth, unable to speak for a long time.

The cold wind, carrying icy water vapor, blew on his face, but he did not feel cold. He only felt that his soul was washed and cleansed by the rushing torrent.

He subconsciously searched for Chao Youye's hand and held it tightly. Chao Youye returned the favor by grasping his cold fingers and pulling him closer to her, shielding him from the cold wind and mist with her body.

What shocked Mu Xinrong the most was the exploration of the blue ice cave deep in the heart of Vatnajökull glacier.

Led by professional guides, they put on crampons and helmets and went deep into the dark blue secret realm formed by the melting of glaciers for thousands of years.

Outside the cave is a gray and white world, but inside the cave is another dimension - the crystal clear ice walls reflect the light of the headlights, presenting a dreamy, varying shades of blue, from the deepest cobalt blue to the most ethereal ice blue, like solidified sea water, or as if time billions of years ago was frozen here.

Under your feet is a thousand-year-old black ice, smooth as a mirror and freezing cold.

Mu Xinrong followed the guide and Chao Youye carefully, taking every step with extreme caution. His crampons made crisp "clicking" sounds on the ice, echoing in the silent ice cave.

"Oh my God... It's so beautiful... It's like being in a dragon's belly..." He muttered to himself, his voice amplified and echoed in the empty ice cave.

"Chao Youye, look at that! Doesn't it look like the dome of a crystal palace?" He pointed to a huge and complex ice crystal structure hanging from the ceiling of the cave.

Chao Youye stopped and followed his gaze. Under the headlight's beam, the ice crystals were like the most delicate diamond carvings, reflecting a dazzling and hazy light.

He stretched out his hand and gently touched a mirror-smooth ice wall beside him through his thick gloves. The cold touch penetrated the gloves.

"It's the result of the refraction of light and the ice crystal structure." He explained in a low voice, his voice was particularly clear in the ice cave, but with an almost pious tone.

“Nature’s uncanny craftsmanship far surpasses any artificial simulation.”

The guide motioned for everyone to be quiet for a moment and turn off all headlamps. Instantly, absolute darkness and silence engulfed everything, with only a subtle, sigh-like "tick-tick" sound coming from deep within the glacier, the glacier slowly and eternally moving and melting.

Mu Xinrong's heartbeat was beating in the darkness, and he subconsciously leaned towards Chao Youye.

The next second, a warm hand grasped his. In the absolute darkness, his vision was deprived, and his sense of touch became unusually sharp.

The warmth from Chao Youye's palm and his steady breathing became the only anchor in this cold and dead silence, making Mu Xinrong feel extremely at ease.

Deep in the ancient "refrigerator" of the earth, wrapped in ice that has lasted for thousands of years, their clasped hands are the only, warm connection between life.

The real highlight began on the third night after arriving in Iceland.

This is based on Chao Youye's close monitoring and analysis of satellite cloud images, geomagnetic KP index, solar wind speed and Iceland's local real-time meteorological data for several consecutive days.

He chose an unnamed lake deep in the southern wilderness, far from urban light pollution, as the best observation spot. The Kp index was predicted to reach 5 (active), and the clouds would briefly disperse around midnight.
