Chapter 348 Pranks on a Sunny Day

Jin Annuo walked barefoot on the slightly cool wooden floor, and the small area on his toes that was baked by the sun felt warm.

The piano lesson in the morning went unexpectedly smoothly, and even the strict professor nodded in approval, which was rare.

She stretched out lazily, like a cat whose bones were softened by the sun, and her eyes naturally fell on the large recliner with light linen cushions by the window in the living room.

Jin Chanyun was lying there. He had obviously finished reviewing the last quarterly report and was captivated by the overly warm and comfortable afternoon sunshine and the rare tranquility.

An open financial magazine slipped to the edge of the carpet. One of his hands was still loosely resting on the armrest of the recliner, his fingertips only inches away from the fallen magazine.

The other arm was casually placed behind the head, causing the cotton and linen sleeves of the home clothes to be pulled up a little, revealing a section of the well-defined forearm.

The sunlight streamed unobstructed through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, covering him precisely like a spotlight on a stage.

The almost razor-sharp sense of concentration and control that he had when working on weekdays was now completely gone in his sleep, leaving only a sense of defenseless relaxation.

Warm golden light streamed down his sharply defined profile, outlining his slightly furrowed brows, straight nose, and clearly defined jaw in an incredibly soft manner.

The sunlight penetrated the few strands of soft black hair hanging down in front of his forehead, casting a few tiny, dancing spots of light on the skin of his eyelids.

An Nuo's heart skipped a beat without warning, and then it felt like being gently tickled by something. An itch mixed with intimacy and a little mischievous impulse quietly grew in him.

She tiptoed back to her room quietly like a kitten trying to steal some cream.

When she came out again, she was holding a small, pearl-shimmering pink lace hairpin in her hand - it was given to her by her best friend on her birthday last year, but she thought it was too cute and never wore it.

In the other hand, there was an open box of watercolor paints, and the slender paintbrush was soaked with warm water.

The carpet was thick and soft, absorbing all the sounds of her footsteps. She held her breath and knelt on the carpet next to the lounge chair, the sun baking her back, warm.

She was so close to him, so close that she could see the distinct curve of his eyelashes and feel the slight itch of his warm breath on the back of her hand.

She carefully picked up the pink lace hairpin, her fingertips slightly cold from nervousness.

Her eyes wandered over his sleeping face, finally landing on the soft black hair on his forehead that was almost transparent in the sunlight.

Here it is! She held her breath and, with the gentlest movements, inserted the finest teeth of the hairpin into her hair, then gently closed it.

The pink lace bow, like a small, inappropriate and exceptionally delicate flower, instantly bloomed above his handsome brow.

Just at this moment, a breeze carrying the fragrance of grass and trees playfully passed through the open balcony door, blowing up the light white gauze curtains by the window.

Perhaps it was the coolness brought by the wind, his fingers on the armrest curled up almost imperceptibly, and his thick eyelashes trembled violently, as if two sleeping butterflies were about to flap their wings.

An Nuo's heart instantly rose to his throat, and the paintbrush almost slipped out of his hand and fell into the paint box.

"Brother?" She lowered her voice, almost whispering, and called out tentatively.

There was no response. Only the long, steady sound of breathing continued in the sunlight-filled silence.

The trembling of the eyelashes also subsided, as if it was just an illusion caused by the dazzling sunlight.

Her heart, which had been hanging in the air, fell back to its original place, and was immediately replaced by a bolder excitement.

She dipped the brush in water again, chose the softest pink and white color in the paint box, and lightly tapped the tip of the brush on the color palette.

She held her breath and concentrated, and the tip of the brush, with a hint of cool moisture, touched his skin very gently.

At one point, a rounded outline; at another point, two erect, long ears; and finally, below the ears, a playful three-lobed mouth...

The outline of a cute little rabbit gradually emerged.

At this moment, an irresistible warmth, with the temperature of a sleeping body, suddenly grabbed her wrist holding the paintbrush.

"Done?"

A low, hoarse voice, like a stone dropped into a calm lake, echoed.

An Nuo was so startled that he almost jumped up, and the paintbrush slipped from his hand and fell onto the soft carpet, leaving a small pink stain.

She looked up suddenly and met a pair of suddenly opened eyes.

At first, his eyes held a hint of confusion from just waking up, but almost instantly, that confusion was replaced by understanding and a very faint, almost imperceptible smile of indulgence.

His gaze paused for a moment on the sudden pink on his forehead, and then he accurately captured the tension and guilt on her face that had not yet faded from her face due to the success of her prank.

"The most handsome Mr. Rabbit in the world," after the initial shock, An Nuo's heart was filled with a greater feeling of embarrassment and pride in a successful prank.

Instead of pulling her hand back, she leaned forward and held his wrist, extending her finger that was stained with pink and white watercolor.

With a hint of revenge and coquettishness, Jin Annuo rubbed the cuffs of his fine beige cotton and linen pajamas, leaving a clear little fingerprint, and announced in a crisp voice.

“It’s time to get up!”

The sunlight generously filled the entire space, illuminating the fresh colorful fingerprints on the cuff and her sparkling, smiling eyes with incredible clarity.

Jin Chanyun's gaze slowly moved up from the small "evidence" on his sleeve, and fell back onto his sister's face, which was full of cunning and arrogance.
