Ning Xiwan rested her forehead on his chest, feeling his steady and strong heartbeat.
She didn't cry, but just leaned against him quietly.
Not far away, Ning Xiuyuan was negotiating with a national security officer with a serious expression.
Ning Xiuyan was surrounded by medical staff for examination. His face was still pale, but his eyes no longer had the frivolous look of the past. Instead, they had a heavy and complex look, as if he had grown up overnight.
"It's over." Duan Shuce's low voice sounded above her head, carrying a soothing force.

She raised her head and looked towards the eastern sky which was gradually turning white in the distance.
