As he spoke, he gently rubbed Qin Yuzheng's hair with his cheek, like a big cat acting coquettishly.
"Didn't I kick her just in time? Send her straight to the water to sober up, and avoid dirtying your place."
He spoke the cruelest truth in the most innocent tone.
Qin Yuzheng did not respond, but picked up the teacup and took another sip.
The curling heat blurred the outline of his cold profile.

The action was not gentle, and even had a bit of the casualness of an elder brother towards his younger brother, but the strength and warmth transmitted between the fingertips were like an electric current, instantly calming the violent fire exploding in Qin Yuheng's heart.
Qin Yuheng froze, his mind going blank.

Outside the door, Ruan Weiwei's resentful cries and curses continued, like a harsh noise in the background:
