Chapter 394 Yunqi Resort

A week later. On the outskirts of the city, at the Yunqi Resort.

The villa is built against the mountain. The main body adopts large areas of floor-to-ceiling glass and log structure. It is low-key and luxurious, and perfectly blends into the surrounding lush mountains and forests.

Several independent villas are scattered halfway up the mountain, offering excellent privacy. It is dusk now, and the afterglow of the setting sun casts a warm golden hue on the mountains, creating a tranquil scene that feels like a paradise.

On the viewing terrace of the main villa, Qin Yuzheng had just finished a brief meeting with the project leader.

He changed out of his suit and put on a simple dark grey cashmere sweater and casual trousers. He had an upright figure, less fierce than usual and more of a homely and distant look.

He stood by the railing, overlooking the winding mountain stream below and the layered forest in the distance, the mountain breeze ruffling his hair on his forehead.

Qin Yuheng came over with a tray with two cups of freshly brewed hot cocoa on it, and the rich aroma filled the air.

"Brother, drink something hot. It's cool in the mountains in the evening." He handed one of the cups to Qin Yuzheng, his smile pure and warm, like melted honey.

He was wearing a cashmere cardigan of the same color with a white turtleneck sweater underneath. His soft black hair was a little messy due to the wind, making his handsome face look even more harmless.

Qin Yuzheng took the cup, his fingertips inadvertently brushing against the back of Qin Yuheng's hand. Qin Yuheng's fingertips curled up almost imperceptibly, then his smile deepened, and a ripple of satisfaction spread in his eyes.

He leaned against the railing next to Qin Yuzheng, sipping hot cocoa.

"It's so quiet here, much more comfortable than in the city." Qin Yuheng's voice was very soft, with a hint of coquettishness.

"Brother, can you stay for two more days after you're done with your work? Just think of it as accompanying me to relax." He naturally stretched out his hand, wanting to help Qin Yuzheng brush away a strand of hair that was blown to his forehead by the wind.

Just when his fingertips were about to touch Qin Yuzheng's forehead——

"Boss Qin! Second Young Master!"

A young man with an ordinary appearance, dressed in a villa waiter's uniform, walked quickly onto the terrace with a slightly flustered look on his face. He bowed slightly and said, "Excuse me, Mr. Qin. Manager Li from the project department said that several leaders from the Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau have arrived at the entrance to the mountain."

"I'm just passing by and want to take a look at our villa's facilities. I hope to have a brief conversation with you. Manager Li is downstairs receiving guests, so I'll ask you..."

Qin Yuzheng's brows knitted slightly. This kind of temporary, informal "inspection" often had various purposes and was annoying.

But as the helmsman of the group, some situations are unavoidable.

The gentle smile on Qin Yuheng's face faded instantly, and a hint of displeasure at being interrupted flashed across his eyes, but when facing his brother, he quickly regained his obedient attitude: "Brother, go and do your work. I'll wait for you here."

He spoke considerately, while moving his body slightly to the side, standing between the waiter and Qin Yuzheng without leaving a trace, forming a small protective circle.

Qin Yuzheng nodded slightly, placed the cocoa cup in his hand on the low table beside him, and said to the waiter, "Lead the way."

His voice was calm and emotionless.

The waiter quickly responded and respectfully led the way. Qin Yuzheng walked away, his tall figure disappearing at the entrance of the spiral staircase leading downstairs.

Qin Yuheng was the only one left on the terrace.

The golden glow of the setting sun fell on him, outlining his perfect silhouette like a person in a painting.

The gentle and obedient look on his face faded like the tide, leaving only an inorganic coldness. He picked up the cup of cocoa that Qin Yuzheng had put down, and the warmth of his brother's fingers still lingered on the cup wall.

He lowered his head and took a sip very naturally from the spot where Qin Yuzheng had just drunk.

At this moment, the glass door leading to the other side of the terrace, connecting to the rear garden, was gently pushed open a crack.

A figure flashed in like a ghost.

It’s Ruan Weiwei.

She was wearing the same beige uniform skirt as the maids in the villa, her hair was neatly tied back, and she wore a mask on her face, revealing only a pair of carefully painted eyes that were burning with madness and desperation.

In her hand, she tightly grasped the handle of a portable vacuum cleaner disguised as a cleaning tool, which actually had a high-definition pinhole camera built in. The camera was facing Qin Yuheng.

Her heart was pounding so hard in her chest that it threatened to break her ribs.

Wang Zhenhai had indeed "arranged" it! The waiter who distracted Qin Yuzheng, the back terrace passage that was temporarily closed for surveillance due to "maintenance"! Qin Yuheng was alone! This was her only chance!

She looked at Qin Yuheng, who had his back to her and was concentrating on looking down at the cup that Qin Yuzheng had drunk from. His posture was disgustingly intimate.

Now is the time! Any picture of him obsessed with his brother's belongings, any distorted expression he might have... would be irrefutable evidence!

She held her breath, her fingers trembling as she quietly pressed the hidden recording button on the vacuum cleaner handle. The camera silently focused on Qin Yuheng's profile.

Time passed by minute by minute. Qin Yuheng seemed unaware of it, still immersed in his own world.

Enough! That’s enough! Ruan Weiwei was shaking with excitement and was about to retreat quietly—

"Does it look good?"

A clear smile, like a mountain spring, but now it is tempered with poisonous ice.

Ruan Weiwei felt as if struck by a thunderbolt, her body instantly stiffening! Her blood seemed to freeze at that moment!

She looked up in horror.

She saw Qin Yuheng, who had his back to her, had turned around at some point.

He had that familiar, sunny smile on his face, and his eyes were curved, as if filled with the most harmless warmth.

He didn't even look at the "vacuum cleaner" in Ruan Weiwei's hand. His gaze was like the most precise scalpel, piercing straight into the depths of Ruan Weiwei's pupils that were dilated with fear.
